If you ever feel bad Clone High was canceled, remember that according to Enter the Spiderverse (Which had its screenplay written by the same guys who created Clone High) there's an alternate universe out there where the show was popular enough to get a movie.
I mean it is getting rebooted, The Clone High Revival produced by Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. So it kinda worked out, also it may premiere between November 2022 and April 2023 literally 20 years After the Show Premiered (Nov "02) and Ended (March "03) wow :D
An interesting thought to have is that for them the 1980’s are like the 2000’s for us. The show aired in the 2000’s, and were currently in the early 2020’s. So would it be “way way back in the 2000’s” when they reboot the show?

I think it was meant to be intentional. The show that parodies all the cheesy teen angst shows ends with a typical cheesy teen angst show cliffhanger. Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, I also want a new season.
They had plans to continue the story up to season 4, so the parody was of shows like that ending a season on a cliffhanger rather than the whole series. Since they had scudsworth sneak off before the clones were frozen they probably planned to open season 2 with him unfreezing them and getting rid of the shadowy figures.
It only had the ending it had because a season two was planned, but was cancelled because Ghandi was offensive to the country of india. So the show was axed
Yet another fantastic animated show that was unfairly cancelled for actually being a meaningful show-I just hope somewhere down the line it ultimately returns in one way or another (revived TV series, feature film, even a crappy video game would do)
