Totally agree. Doesn’t matter if you’re wealthy or we’re renting. This fire affected everyone. So devastating to see and hear. Prayers to you all. Stay safe . Let’s take care of each other.
Let's get REAL real. You MUST get rid of your leadership. Americans will NOT GIVE to these continued devistating-prone properties EVER AGAIN. We watch the CONTINUED mismanagement of certain states. CHANGE your votes!
No one deserves to lose their home and their irreplaceable belongings. I feel for the people that work in those communities that service those houses. Just think of the pool guy to the lawn guy or even the delivery drivers. There are so many jobs that are related to a community. The schools, churches, stores, and on and on. The kids that will get separated from their friends for a long time maybe to never see each other again. It's just very sad. If you have money or not it really messes with people.
At 29:40 right at the Kanan tunnel, I drove through there the evening of the Woolsey fire, November 2018. That ENTIRE area was on fire!! The dirt above the tunnels, the ENTIRE Kanan road from Agoura to the ocean…….FIRE.
Thank you Spencer & Katie for showing us everything. It must be so painful for you to video the devastation. I hope you can take one day at a time in your healing. We are here to listen & support you. Your helping other people by vlogging.
The respect and love you have for your community is felt in whole through your words and footage this experience will change so much for so many, you two are being so respectful in your coverage.
The bad part is the Coastal Commission is going to fight reconstruction for the houses that burnt built on driven wood pilings. And fighting with people on the sand and on septic tank and not a sanitary sewer system. 6:11
Wow this is so crazy it reminds me of the pandemic so much i hated that time you 2 got me thru that time and thank you i hope everything goes back to normal soon great video ignore the nay sayers you guys have done a great job showing us and keeping us updated you guys are the only ones letting ppl know whats going on there first hand as you always say let it roll off your back they dont watch all your videos or even know you like us fans should not make judgments without all the facts i loveyou guys and you are great ❤
I know what their going through. My family and I had our apartment building burn down due to someone started it. Our township , neighbors, high school and restaurants and stores helped all 12 families find temporary homes , food and clothes. I’m so sorry that it happened to everyone who lived in thoses areas in California. My parents and I were home at the time, my sister wasn’t. Hats off to the men and women first responders for helping take care of the fires and tend to the victims.
I used to go to Wolfgang Puck’s Granita restaurant at The Colony Plaza shopping area that Ollo’s in. Great businesses there. You should go to Taverna Tony at the Country Mart as well!!!
Thank you for filming and keeping us informed! My husband is in National Guard and has been down there since everything started. He was finally able to get a day off a couple of days ago and went to the PCH. Took some photos of the beach at Sunset. However we don’t talk much so I’m glad I have Best Life and Beyond to watch in the meantime. 💖
Must be terrible to loose one's house and property, the nightmare has just started for these people. Look at NC they are still living in tents from Hurricane Helene.
Thanks so much for sharing your journey! I am from Ohio and have always dreamed of going down the Pacific Coast Highway one day. So sad to see the destruction the fire has caused. STILL plan on making it out there one day! You guys stay safe and be blessed!! Sending love from Ohio!!
My childhood home in Orange County was purchased in 1960 for $16K - back when military, police, fire, teachers, etc settled the area with their growing families. Now it’s listed for close to a million, completely driving out those people unless they held onto it for their grandchildren like a couple friends were able to do. Unfortunately, we were not and cannot afford to live in the place that is near and dear to my heart. ❤ Don’t know what I’m trying to say except to agree with Spence that many have inherited very humble homes built during a much more affordable time. My heart goes out to all!
The county may need to build a sewer line and allow hookups. the Malibu Jack in the box has a septic tank in their parking lot and the spreading field underneath the lot, and a constant trouble spot. 18:01
I totally agree with you, I am so tired of hearing people say that "they are all rich and they can just go live in one of their other homes or they can just go rebuild". they are still humans, they still lost their home, their memories. And like you said not everyone bought their home or didn't pay millions for their home.
At 37:36…….yes folks, those are 20,000 square foot, $60-$80 million beach houses folks!!! 🤷🏼♂️😎. Malibu’s “Billionaire Beach”. ……she didn’t show Oracle computer’s Larry Ellison’s brand new, 40,000 square foot, +$200 million beach house (closer to Nobu).
Hopefully you all were able to get as much stuff out as you could fit in the car while you were there. You can always take it back later. I hope they do not condemn your building, but with the damage to the other unit, if it is below you, more than likely, they will.
There are things that people have lost that are sentimental and irreplaceable 😢you can’t put a cost on that. Money means nothing when your community has been destroyed. Love you guys all the way from Australia ❤️
42:20 Where Cosentino’s Nursery used to be……remember the INSANE FLOODING through that creek years ago that took out businesses after historic rains?!? Hopefully those types of mudslides aren’t ahead!! 🤷🏼♂️
Love the video and want some tips on starting a vlog channel for me and Michael are thinking of moving to Florida just us together someday and want to meet you some day at Disney land and Bashgarders in January and we are in Florida now and the puppy is cute
So devastating. Now with your place ok .and the other place isn't are they gonna be able to fix that other place or are they gonna need to close that whole building. I wish they would let you have a bit more time in your place to get stuff. Idk how long you were there but it didn't seem long enough. I can't donate but have been sharing alot on my Instagram.
At 49:42 are the hilltop remains of Yolanda Hadid (models Bella and Gigi’s mother) and ex-husband, musician David Fosters GORGEOUS Carbon Canyon home. $40+ million home featured on Beverly Hills Housewives show (Yolanda would climb her backyard hillside citrus orchard to gather lemons). SAD!! Gorgeous property!!! ……..You guys are SO LUCKY your place didn’t burn down!!! The fire went all the way up to the “Octopus” mansion!!! Almost Nobu!!?! ……..SOOOOOOO LUCKY!!!! 👍👌
Great update guys glad you’re safe, I was just talking with a former coworker and we did solar for about 20 years and we said I know there gonna be home that need clean renewable energy soon
Watching you both doing everything you can to the extent of your abilities is truly touching. Very well documented guys, always sending good vibes your way!
I know some people are taking pot shots, but, those of us who live here know what you have experienced is real. Even tho I live a bit away, we all feel the pressure of what has happened. Rich or not so rich, everyone is affected. Sadly the toxic air may have led to a situation with a friend. And that isn't limited to the "famous" areas, it is all of us. We must be united, especially in the face of what is coming. Heart knows no bounds. Some want to disapprove of online content with what is happening but that online content is showing the reality of what exists. We want to go for the best even facing these challenges. We need people to keep touristing to help everyone. Eat at the restaurants, see the tourist spots. Even in my distant area.. house prices have elevated strongly that might seem rich to outsiders but are just normal. Still the reactions have been incredible, we are a community, not selfish or self centered. We know other states think crap of us but that is just wrong. We may face challenges in the next few weeks, esp if we don't get any rain, but we will be strong. We have the economic power that gives welfare to red states and yet we don't complain about that cause we want all of us to succeed.
I'm only 9 minutes in so if you've already answered this in the video, ignore this. I was wondering if you've been in touch with the building owner/landlord and if there are any plans for the building yet in terms of repair to the parts of the building that did burn? Wondering about it's fate. I hope it will stay and you can just be in your place while repairs commence. I love your place there and I was one of those who rode out the pandemic with you there. I imagine if no one can get it they haven't even been able to assess anything.
I brought my 24 year old nephew to Howdy’s for lunch a year ago, he’s still growing….and hungry! He ordered 2 Pepperdine Bowls, a drink. And I got a bowl for myself…..$78.00 lunch!!! (that’s Malibu!! 🤷🏼♂️😂😎).
Hi Greta a ❤ nice to meet you. On September 22 my apartment caught on fire. The neighbors left a gas grill going unattended. We had to move. The insurance company gave us shit along with al with a check for $15,000. For all my stuff. My daughter lives with me and she had coz dresses her kids expensive r2d2 robot. Money can't buy happiness. I'm in a hotel. I lived there a long time. I won't be going back and scared to move elsewhere do to cost, crime, well I hope things get better for you.
I am so glad that your protery survived. I was worried that it didn't. You guys mean everything to me..i wish i could back Disney land.l love you guys please stay safe.
……My mistake! Billionaire Larry Ellison’s brand new GIGANTIC +40,000 square foot beach house just after the partially burned “Octopus house”. It survived!!

I like how you don’t talk or comment when showing footage of the destruction. Respectful, almost reverent. Very sensitive and classy of you 🖤🥲
Ive shopped at the Ralphs there, its an island of civilization for Malibu. 9:12

At 20:07 when you enter Cross Creek / Country Mart is Cafe Habana, owned by Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber…….EXCELLENT food!!

Yes the McDonald’s survived. I remember going there in 1996 when my friend was going to Pepperdine.
At timeline 11:09 it reminded me of how great traffic flowed in the mid 1970s and during the Covid pandemic.
-The Disneyland Neighbor
it feels unreal i lost my house back 1997 it truly hurts every time see people go though it

Judging anyone based on their financial situation is a blatant form of bigotry. Don't be a bigot.
