I'm more of a MadMapper person because I'm focused almost purely on projection mapping. But if I were interested in more live, reactive scenarios, particularly involving music, I would go with Resolume
having the surrond system in the pc, I wanted to output the audio from the front speakers and rear speakers. after selecting the surroun system output in preferences the surroun system output, listening can be heard ONLY in the front speakers
I just need to know what type of projector, I would need to project on a building I don't know 10 meters high and 7 meters wide. I mean large scale but not as if it were bought by a company because it is for a civilian person ...
Sounds like projectors suitable for projecting on a house would fit your requirements. I have a video on that here: th-cam.com/video/m4uFbq8VyNA/w-d-xo.html and a list of suggested projector models here: www.lumabox.com/house-projection-mapping-kit/#projector
I'm having issues. I download the free version. all was good at first. later when I wanted to send the video to the projector through output tab clicking display 2 (I work with an epson s41) it sends the video to my macbook, as if selecting display 1. What can I do?

Yes, put your clips in the same column but on different layers and then click the column header to trigger everything in the column at once. This will help give you an overview of the UI in Resolume th-cam.com/video/uDINAr5KttI/w-d-xo.html

@@LumaBox would be better to edit format area while using projector? Can we just use the preset, send it to another person so they could edit or make interface separately without using projector?
If I understand what you’re asking, you could send it to someone else to save them having to set up the input slices, but your output mapping would be no good to them if they haven’t got a projector set up and they’d need to do their own output mapping if they did connect their own projector at some point (unless that’s your projector in its original position)
to be honest my biggest question is not how to do the mapping itself. its more which projectors to use and how to position them not to create a monster zone where no guests are allowed? you have a tutorial for that? :D as probably you cant use ultra short throw projectos cause of the sharpness difficulties on different levels of distance. especially at a wedding you have a lot of "uncontrolled" people and everybody wants to be close to watch the cake. So whats your solution?
My solution is to use two short throws either side of the cake. The audience wants to have a central, front-on view so they naturally gather between the projectors, out of the way of the beams. For added measures, I'd encourage you to cordon off the area and don't place the cake such that there is through-traffic between the cake and either projector.
how do trigger two different videos to different parts of the cake? or say half of the cake. you need two outputs and two projectors i assume? and how would you set that up?
I haven't done this in Resolume. Perhaps I could put a tutorial together for it. This may not be very helpful to you, but I have a tutorial showing how to do just this using Syphon out of Qlab into MadMapper, another projection mapping software, which might give you some ideas th-cam.com/video/lR-vcXF6QoI/w-d-xo.html
Hi there! not sure if you've already figured this out but I'll just let you know; you can add a slice transformation effect to a layer and assign specific slices for each layer (eg assigning left slices to layer 1, right slices to layer 2 and adding different videos to each layer. when you play the videos on both layers simultaneously, whatever clip is playing on layer 1 will only be projected on the left side and same for the layer 2 and the right side.) hope this helps!
in the two screens I see the two films together. how do i see a movie on one screen and the other movie on the other screen? ... in the tutorial she speaks in english i don't understand it, if maybe someone writes it then i'll do the translation
Check out all my tutorials on projection mapping to help you get started. Typically projectors need you output video/image content to them via software or a media player.
muy bueno!!!!, una cuestión. Las visuales las haces en base al al soporte a mapear o sirve cualquier track?. lo digo porque la visual que se proyecta en el pastel no parece que esta hecho adrede
can anyone direct me where I can find more about how to create an input map, for example I want to project on a stage. How can I create a template of the stage in photoshop. Is there any videos explaining?
Do you know the dimensions and layout of the stage? I have this video about create a guide if you're mapping cake - th-cam.com/video/y8qF-PA2qO4/w-d-xo.html - but it might not go far enough to help you. However, the principles are the same.
Yes in theory but no in practice. Short throw projectors are the most practical since you don't need too much space between the projector and the cake.
That's because the blacks of your projector are not very black. Could you try lowering the brightness? Alternatively, you could move your surface away from the background wall so it doesn't catch the overspill. Or light the background wall separately e.g. uplight it so the overspill isn't noticeable.
In Advanced Output, where your slices are listed on the left, select the top one, hold down shift on your keyboard, and then select the last one and all the slices in between will also be selected. Or select a slice and then hold Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) and select additional slices.
Um... there is such a thing as a waterproof projector intended for permanent outdoor installation... but I don't think there really is a projector that's "best for outdoor". Only one that's best for your budget, light levels, projection distance etc. and then you'd house the projector somewhere to keep it safe from factors associated with being in an outdoor environment.
I’ve used Heavy M. Tell me, how would you use custom animations (laid out like mine) and similarly map each tier individually? In my experience, as of 6 months ago, it can’t be done in Heavy M. But maybe you can set me straight?

There is no ONE best projector. You want something short throw and bright (probably 3000 lumens+) and probably full HD (1920 x 1080)
