@@andreaskarlsson5251 funny enough, for me it took me 24 mins ish for priest and for rogue it took me 43 minutes ish. like dice like the dalaran heist was, it just OP when it works for you and that happens more than we think :)
Lazul was the only one I lost with, but the second try went fine in 30 minutes. I found Toggwagle to be the best way to go below 20 min (if we don’t count Hand of Rafaam, which can make anyone stomp in 15 min when you pick it twice).
I just went for the buff deathrattle style with this one and stealing their cards turn 1, first one I cracked 40 minutes with, ended up getting lucky more often than not by topdecking Shadoreaper Anduin to clear 7/8 taunts to win, forbidden shaping S-o-Nax which got insane value, but the real MVP was the 3 mana 3/3 patrons that the opponent could never clear.
Also Trump doesn't want -4 damage on the enemy team each turn for some reason...? I dunno man, I feel like Trump sometimes pick shit because he thinks "LOL THIS BAD" and but in reality, some of the things that he finds bad, becomes pretty good when it is cheaper. (: (Hence a lot of his past star ratings being way off)
Not only that but he's prioritizing not using it to play cards in situations where actually using it allows him to lock down the board. He developed the 4/2 against baron geddon instead of reducing the flame imp attack, trading the acolyte, and then forbidden wording the imp gang boys to prevent any imps. Like yeah, Lazul sucks, but she's gonna suck worse if you don't play her to create situations priests benefit from
On my first run with her I thought "Hm, yeah, this hero power and these cards are pretty bad, she must have some busted-ass treasures by default!" Turns out she has only one treasure and almost every use of it has the trade-off of making your deck worse. Thanks Blizzard.
Seems like C'thun is the only way to go for priest in this tavern brawl. That was the only way I could make a decent dent when I tried it. Still ended up being dangerously close numerous times. I'm not saying you can't do it if you don't get the Old God buckets, but man, they definitely didn't tweak this right. Lazul does not keep up with her peers, that's for sure.
Hmm, I need to keep the electron alive, so instead of trading my minions into other ones and buffing the electron with the power word shields, instead I'll buff my own so it can't die then keep playing stuff for the electron to trade into......... I don't think Trump really wanted the electron after all.
I got The Robes Of Overpoweredness when I tried Lazul, so that *was* pretty speed-runny. Only got one minion of worth from her stealing card, was just spamming C'tun buckets otherwise.
I played lazul as my first boss pick. Took 6 tries to win with her. And I thought I was bad. Her hero power is a nerf to the normal hero power. The deck has many bad dead draws. And she only has one treasure. Compared to rogue with 3 treasures and a better hero power.
So when i used lazul i got a lot of cthun cards, but i also managed to get 2 amulets, and when i got to the "trons" boss, i stole 2, i stole toxitron, and lavitron or whatever the 4th one is, the 4th one worked really damn well since for some reason the ai never seems to understand his passive. They always killed themselves with it.
I absolutely destroyed this run using priest. Got really lucky and built into cthun with every stage also got robes and managed to take control of the 3 mana 5/5 tron. The only one I had trouble with was hagitha, her deck took me 6 runs to complete everything else was first time
Huh, I didn't think Lazul was that bad. On my first Dungeon Run with her I managed to win in 22 minutes, while I still can't seem to beat it with Hagatha
I don't post a lot but my first win was with priest and I won in under 40 mins without trying to speedrun. It wasn't a fluke because I kept playing with priest and I opted for C'thun buckets. I'm not trying to say Priest is the best, but it isn't bad either.
stargazing with lazul isn't that bad as you can stack the - attack and with star gazing her hero power becomes free meaning you can always get some better trades
I played deathrattle priest and won easily with reasonable treasures in about 33 minutes (2nd fastest of those I played). These runs are more about picking a bad standalone bucket first (C'thun, Miracle), not receiving the necessary support cards to make it work thereafter, and not utilizing the hero power effectively (by fighting for board with it). Now granted that run 2 had some egregiously bad buckets (which were weighted towards Trump's picks), but this felt like a pretty good what not to do as priest video more than anything.
I beat my very first run under 40min with Lazul, but I think I was just pretty lucky. 3 C'thuns and a Robe of Gaudiness is a disgusting combo, after all
Nah priest is insane if you make a cthun deck. Also have to be careful with the amulet so you dont mess up the deck. Hand of Rafaam and robes of gaudiness are really good to pick up. I went on a 21 minute priest run yesterday lol
I.e Use the only consistently viable package, farm with the Amulet (in a speedrun event and with the least good deck) and use the 2 best passives in the event lol
Normally "Soothe" is a great hero power, but here tempo and quick damage are key. Rather then stopping threats, you must present yours immediately. The bosses don't have a million HP and don't start at 3 mana, and you have OP treasures in your deck from the start, so... I find it hard to lose.
I think stargazing is really good with priest tho.. Not the best hero power that's for sure but with stargazing you can easily trade up and create a decent board to finally kill the boss after who knows how many turns
could it be that maybe Trump just chose HORRIBLE buckets... my Lazul deck wasn't NEARLY as bad... AND I beat it in 24 min. (not great, but not horrible)
All those who complain Lazul sucks... Try the silence priest option... Broken af... Had the stargazing treasure to -2 twice for 0 mana... Almost never even had to use it 😂
Yes, in any large sample size you will find extremes. Try getting 10 complete runs with each of the four heroes, see if then you start to see trends in your experience. I think the biggest problem is the starting deck has a large amount of reactive cards and relatively bad inherent treasures. It’s easy to not be offered anything cheaper than 4 in your first buckets. If your opening hand is Forbidden words, Amulet of Domination and Unsleeping Soul you can find it literally unable to play on turns one and two against Geddon. Congratulations, you get to start playing cards at 10 hp, fail to curve out two more times and you can lose to a boss that never played a card. Warrior can just hero power and roll the dice and win with practically any bucket selections. Rogue has a really low curve and three great treasures to help cheese things, I’ve won multiple games without needing to hero power at all. Shaman’s hero power is awesome if you can stabilize and get ahead or cheat things out at all, and while duplitransmog is a bit tricky if you don’t know about some of the different boss mechanics, once you do you can easily find ways to, again, make any bucket selection playable. Priest’s starting deck and hero power are inherently crippling in comparison. You have to get lucky on treasures (notice the comments that say they were able to do it because of Robes of Gaudiness) or get a nice synergistic set of buckets and still need to get luck draws to progress with Priest. I had a Priest run against Garr where the first card that I could possibly play to interact with the board was on turn 3, when the board was an array of seven 0/2s looking to dish out 79 dmg. I’ve had another other run where I got cheap buff spells and the duplicating patron treasure. Was able to stabilize behind growing, ever duplicating minions. Until Nefarion pulls mass dispell and 2x dragonfire potions on me. TL,DR: Priest you have to get lucky to win, other classes you have to get unlucky to lose.
So I went star-gazing and got priest dk and then went a second star-gazing with her and did fine nothing crazy the only person that was even close to beating me was Garr
