That is why I stick with a Polaris ranger that have way better service and like that air filter they would of put a recall on it and would of payed for all of it.
For once a honest salesman that tells you the truth. Thank you for being honest and telling us all the facts rather then just trying to get a sale. Keep up the great work!
This video really surprises me. Have a 825i and it does great. Ran it in 10 inches of show and never got stuck. Only ever got it stuck once in 300 hours because I was crossing a 2 foot deep narrow creek. Never had problems with the tailgate or electric dump. Also never had an issue with ground clearance. Also never had an issue with ruff shifting. From what I’ve seen the gators are great pieces of machinery.
By and large we agree. We were just going in with expectations that clearly weren't met. And hopefully anyone who sees this and is going to buy one, knows what to expect and what not to. We've got it for sale because we know in many situations it's still a valuable asset for someone. Just not us!
If you want to go mudding or over really rough terrain this is not for you BUT if you want a support vehicle or a work vehicle to pull with haul or chase parts instead of walking it's a perfect candidate I love my gator works good for plowing snow and I stay nice and warm
Thanks for your honesty. I was impressed with a friend’s Gator and thought, “Maybe someday........” After seeing your troubles out on the lake etc. I think I’ll stick with my RZR.
And the Oscar goes to, (opening envelope), “Good Works Tractors”. I believe your videos are truthful, honest, and thought provoking. Plus, a bit of humor for the audience members wanting laughs instead of in-depth and insightful reporting. Two thumbs op.
I can't even start to comment on all of the humor I found in this. And in reality all of it's struggles are true. I'll stick to my jacked up Yamaha G22 golf car.
I’ve had a jacked up Club Car golf cart for over 15 years. Very happy with it. I always wondered about a Gator...... I like my golf cart even more now.
Makes me appreciate my old 2004 Gator HPX. No windshield, no ROPs, battery is under the flip-up passenger seat. I think the only electrical circuit is the toggle for the headlights. And I haven't been able to get it stuck yet, despite my best efforts. :)
After a ton of research and videos like this I went with a Kawasaki mule SX. Couldn't beat the price or warranty brand new and it hasn't let me down yet. Pulled a trailer with about 500lbs of barbed wire and two 200+lb guys and tools through the woods with no issue. Never had to use 4x4 even in the muddy spots. I grew up loving JD but their price/value/quality just don't seem to match up anymore
Helpful hint about the gator tailgate, instead of slamming it closed and not having it latch, close it and while it’s in the closed position, push down on the handle/latch and it locks closed without issue. Still a crappy design nonetheless.
Courtney, love to see you do a comparison between John Deere's 2022 Gator & Kabota's 2022 x1000 C. I've been waiting a long time for a reputable company that makes a diesel 4 x 4 UTV with a snowblower! You do such a great job on comparisons; so I'd love to see you do one on these 2 models. Up for the challenge?
As a Deere dealer, the XUV865 costs way too much for what it is. Better to get a decket out 835 with a set of camso tracks for that price. Keep up the good work and I love your videos!
Love it good video. I have a couple can am defenders and they are great work on the farm and getting around the mountains on the property and very hard to get stuck
Might as well buy a golf cart. In my opinion, Our Arctic Cat is a major Turd 💩 as well. They seem to have similar designs and issues. I like ours so much it is a 2007 model and has less hours on it than yours.
Now that was great... if you ever think about developing a business selling tractors and attachments, you most likely will go far. Seriously that was a cool video.
I've heard the gators sucked. I appreciate the honest review, in a sarcastic joking format. I felt almost as disappointed within 20 hrs of having my 3032e. Jd seems to be steering away from what working people actually need, almost as if they've hired a bunch of school kids to design their now (crap)..... I've got a bad taste in my mouth from them.
Great video!! You called it from the beginning, as I suspect you knew you made a snap decision on the Gator. Yep, they are for flat land utility jobs. You would have to look beyond the Green and Orange brands for a true hybrid UTV with the power and performance you are looking for in a UTV. Good luck on the sale, but I am sure there are many people out there that this Gator would be a perfect fit.
Great video Courtney. I tend to lean more toward the traditional series. We had the 6x4 on the farm. It worked great even when i got a little to close to the flooded pond. Did not get stuck, loved watching the knobby tires churning that muddy water. It was fun but a little concerning at first. Love that gator!. Would buy another hands down. Anyway have a great day and be safe. Tim
Loved the video! HAHAHA ...And the funny thing is they have improved a lot from 10 years or so back! Back in 2010, there was no comparison and although I bleed green, I had to break down and get the Polaris Ranger. Still have it. But man oh man if a person had a lot of farm acreage to travel from point A to B, I would get it in a heartbeat with all the comforts of a real vehicle. She is perddy. Just stay off the muddy roads. lol
🤣 that's funny! Well, you truly are an honest salesman. I think anyone who watches this video can be confident that when they buy something from you, they are getting the real story. You should buy the kubota UTV and do a comparison.
Well I missed the 5115m, which sucks, but yeah, I think I'm good in the UTV realm you convinced me to risk out and not buy a gator. Great video the humor was great.
4500lb or 4 to 500lb winch? Battery theft is a real problem, this one is positioned as a theft deterrent, its a feature. You can take the plough off, but you don't want to. The extra weight gives a more positive steering response under heavy acceleration. You don't want a radio in this is either, its a performance machine, so a real driver would want to hear the sweet exhaust note. You wouldn't put a radio in a Ferrari? The 6 weeks in the shop for warranty helped keep the hours down, they were doing me a favour.
Such a shame that in trying to go further JD seem have lost their way. I wouldn't even think of selling my 855d - but it's 6 years old with 1200 hours on the clock. No doors but that makes it so easy to get in and out - especially in a hurry chasing after naughty animals - so no Heater or A/C to go wrong. Never got it stuck - even in mud that came over the top of my boots. Manual tip works everytime and guess what - it even has a standard horn that works! No way would I buy yours -even if I did live within 1000 miles of Kalamazoo! Great Video Courtney 😹
