i think my favorite part about this series is the fact you subtly highlight why a lot of these products exist -- that is, for people with different abilities -- I feel like a lot of people who aren't disabled see them as ridiculous or lazy sometimes but the reality is there are people who struggle to do tasks like peeling the shell off a hardboiled egg and having a device that makes that easier is valuable to someone, just maybe not you.
@Angelicwings1 how annoying would it be to have to depend on everyone else when all you want to do is eat some chips or peel an egg? Caregivers get tired. And disabled folks like to be as independent as they can.
>people with different abilities What, like flying and heat vision? You can just say disabled or handicapped, dude. Seriously, I would rather be called a cripple than "differently abled".
Seeing that the hooks on the turkey holder are removable, maybe having it have multiple hooks with different lengths would be good idea so that it could be used for different sized turkeys or even different species.
its already going to be a nuisance to store, that sounds like a nightmare. Maybe if they added some way to extend the length in the hooks themselves instead would be better. Like a pipe withen a smaller pipe and put little extension divots similar to a belt that you can just lock into place. And for the hooks, maybe use the hooks to pierce the wing instead of just hold it so that way when it shrinks while cooking, it doenst slip out. That might ruin the presentation for some though, but it wouldnt bother me. Then again, I would never use it.
@TheSpencer1000 You're also introducing more points of failure and increasing the difficulty to clean with that method though. I think I'd personally prefer just having multiple length hooks as originally suggested, it wouldn't be that difficult to throw them into a drawer as you would any other utensil. I just don't foresee some flat objects being bothersome enough to warrant introducing a potential hygiene problem.
For the second item, adding a curve would create a gap which would cause it to be less effective at holding foods anywhere but the tip. Some texture could be a good idea.
Alton went back on that because he felt like people misinterpreted what he meant. He only meant removing things that were inefficient or things you only used once. I think Snactiv and Pizza Pack are good ideas. Snactiv seems good if you’re on the computer or using your hands. Pizza Pack seems like a sustainable (instead of using a plastic bag) way to store pizza in less space than a box.
A box is very flat though. It's much easier to find space in a refrigerator for a wide flat container (since you can just put it on top of other things) than a wide, almost spherical thing that takes up a lot of shelf space. Also, microwaving pizza is gross. Much better to put it in a toaster oven or eat it cold as Italian Breakfast Toast, in my opinion.
Sure! Recycling metals require transport and energy. Just clean your tray. The original pizza packaging is flat, however I could not put it on my fridge, since it has trays and jar with different sizes, giving no flat surface for the box.
