Thank you for not removing the oil cap before removing the engine cover. So many other videos show the person removing it, and it’s absolutely unnecessary and can let debris get into the oil.
Hello Mr. Joe. I am from Iraq and have been following your videos for a long time. Thank you for the wonderful work you do. I have learned and benefited a lot I have a quick question. I have a Chrycer 200 2.4. I have replaced several types of spark plugs in the car, but I still have sounds coming out of the engine when I press the gas pedal quickly. I think it's premature combustion of fuel. Does this tool that you used solve this problem? What is its benefit, because I have never seen it before
Great video!! Quick question - would you recommend changing the ignition coils at the same time even if there are no symptoms of them going bad? With engines that utilize plugs and wires, typically its recommended to change both at the same time, but since the coils are encased in the engine I'm thinking there's no need to replace them if all is functioning property. Thoughts?
I really have no idea but just bought a 200c @124k miles and jerk or putt putt a little when braking and accelerating...I don't know much but it seems that it may be the spark plugs according to my last vehicle .. I pray it's nothing serious!
If you have the torque spec and a torque wrench it’s alway good to use the proper torque. I don’t use torque specs for spark plugs because I’ve done many of them and have a “feel” for when they’re properly seated.

Hi. The hose connected to the right side of that metal tube in front of the engine broke off on my 200. It leads to the right side of the engine to a part right to the left below the throttle. Can you tell me what it’s called and what I need to replace it? I can’t find info anywhere. To be clear, there’s a hose that comes from overflow, then it transitions to that metal tune in front of the engine, which theme transitions to another black hose which is what broke at the end of hose

Hello Joe S. My 200 limted was working awesome till this morning. I didt had any major problem yet I am on 130k+ km however this morning I tried remote start and the car didt got on in first go. When I tried manually then it took 3 sec to start. Do you think I have problem with spark plug?
Amit Sharma I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying here. It sounds like you tried to start it with the remote but it didn’t start, then when you tried to start it yourself it took 3 seconds to start. If it was my car I’d try using a fuel injection cleaning additive if you haven’t done that in a while. You’re a little early for spark plugs to be bad enough to cause an engine runnability problem. More likely that you need a fuel system cleaner. Something like Seafoam or a Lucas brand fuel treatment would be good options.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY Hi Joe, Just need to ask suggestion. @@AmitSharma-gf4gz That is not good. The low compression is in the same cylinder that the code indicates the misfire. You probably either need an engine rebuild or a replacement engine. If you decide you have them do it you can get a good used engine from a quality parts recycler. The labor will obviously be pretty high for a big job like that but you could save some money on the engine itself. That’s awful. Good luck. Hope it goes good.
I saw a video where the guy removed the positive terminal. This guy obviously didn't do it. It seems like it would make sense to remove it. It's electric. Boogie woogie woogie.
P0300 is engine misfiring, P0302 is cylinder 2 misfiring. If you’re around 100,000 miles start with new spark plugs. Use only the exact same ones in this video because they are the original part number. If misfires persist you might be needing ignition coils. The car in this video is over 160k miles now on original coils, but that doesn’t mean yours might not be bad. If you’re still misfiring, try swapping cylinder 2 and 4 coils and see if the misfire moves to cylinder 4. If it moves, that’s a bad coil. If it stays at 2 it’s possible you’re dealing with a wiring or injector issue. A cam sensor is also a possible culprit at that point.

You don't use anti-seize on the spark plug threads?

I noticed what looked like oil in the holes between the plugs, ive seen this on other 2.4L. Any idea how that gets therr?
Probably a bad valve cover gasket leaking oil around the spark plug tube seals into the spark plug tube.
