She is just way too thin in this season and the pics with the green top. I dont know if she was ill ,dieting too much or anorexic. She looked great for the beauty contest on MTM. Hats and scarves just work for me well. Part of it is long hair. Just won't work with short hair.

(they are over $300.00 today) Also, the character 'Sandy' was in the '70s movie 'Car Wash' as the cashier. Wow, am I ever old!
but those Frye boots last for years and years. My mom bought me a pair then and I didn't even ask for them. She told me they better last me MANY years and they did. Frye is still great quality.
Brenda and Michael's relationship was destined to fail. He lived in a whole other city, and had a very important job. Sometimes it is the things that we don't do in life that we end up regretting the most. They could have brought Michael back, somehow.

Joe is showing concern for Rhoda when she is sick. Aggressively, for sure, but kind-heartedly. What does Michael look like, asks Rhoda? Almost exactly like Tim Matheson, I would say. Check him out in the movie "Animal House", which would come out in 1978.
I always wonder if Brenda is wearing a wig or if she really had an awful haircut. Her bangs are too short and the rest is so uneven. She is so pretty and sweet, she deserves a better hairstyle.

As someone who grew up in the 1970's... yes ! I was bullied, teased, and name called for years by family and friends due to my weight. It was oddly 'normal' behavior for back then to poke fun of someone's weight/ height/ body, but utterly shameful behavior now.

In the 70s it was a normal sight to see one folded,over a chair or sofa in every house where I grew up. Most of the color combinations were daring and bold bordering ugly at times. FUN!
I have 3--one was crocheted by my aunt (deceased), one by my grandma (also deceased), and one by a co-worker when I worked for Motorola (she's deceased now too). All are colors I picked out, and are large enough for a king-size bed. I love my afghans, and will treasure them always.
I have one NOT zig-zag (though I had a small one in greens and yellow when I was a kid; not such huge zig-zags, though). The one I have and love is granny squares with a black background and bright, various colors. I've loved it since I was a kid and was so surprised when my stepmother mailed it to me after my dad died. I didn't even know that it was still in existence - it was made by my great-aunt who died in 1984. A friend who crochets was looking at it and told me that it's incredibly complex and would be difficult to make because each colored square is four shades of one of each of 9 different colors (which make diagonal stripes of color). She told me how many different shades of the same type of yarn you'd need to make it, and that it would be quite difficult to find that many shades, at least here in Europe. That afghan is probably the only thing I have from the '70s and the only thing I would want from that ghastly era.

It evolves in a linear fashion far more than I remember, watching it this time round. In fact watching them out of order isn't wise, for a start. Yeahhh they've could let this unfold a while. But then....the show would've become 'Brenda' rather than 'Rhoda'!!
Tim Matheson? Looks like him. I watched eps of Bonanza when he was a hired hand, and the show was new. If he and Brenda love each other and want a relationship, distance doesn't matter. The writers should have continued the twosome. When my husband and I were in the dating period of our relationship, I lived in Kansas, and his job transferred him to Hawaii. We were loyal to each other, and being physically apart did not ever weaken our love. We were both 21, and it was 1982. After a year, when he was transferred back to Kansas, we married, and have been happily married all this time. Many military people are away from their spouses or sweethearts, and alot of times it never hurts the marriage.

I love that this episode mentions political topics of the seventies, with Rhoda's grilling the FBI guy about the Bureau's recent history of infiltrations and phone tappings, back when the Church Committee report was in the forefront of everyone's mind.

Joe and Rhoda were perfect Joe Aries Rhoda Leo both fire signs so compatible. Brenda Virgo Earth sign so down to Earth. Ida Taurus the Bull like a Bull in a China shop which she was. I bet the producers and writers never knew this. How they got this so right with the actors. And then they messed up letting Joe go. Gary and Benny were great they knew how the show worked. Did not like jack or sally. Valerie Harper what a Lovely Lady. Love this show.

This is the first time I cried on this show. Our lovely, wonderful, funny, sweet Brenda finally got herself a great and cute guy.
