As a doctor I don't suggest to do the last one carrying visor near your rib cage if you have any accident the visor can go through your organs and can lead to death ....I am also a biker I have one suggestion wear sunglasses or sports glasses inside with the clear visor on the helmet !!!
I like to Use safety glasses the sort you get at the hardware store, clear ones for at night. Then if want the visor up for a bit of air, eyes are protected .

So thanks for the tip and I'll always include a clear visor on any significant ride. Who knew my modest tank bag could hold a spare visor and a neck brace?
A strip of black electrical tape along the bottom edge. If the sun is low and in your eyes, with glasses on you can lift the visor so the sun is shielded from your eyes by the black tape. Works a charm.
That's all cool, but i run an Icon Airflite helmet, so the face shields are much bigger and not curved in a way. I just put my clear visor in a bag, inside my backpack, and swap it out when needed.

No. If anything it would add a bit more protection. How would the visor break? Those things are meant to go on your face and protect you in the event of an accident. Wouldn’t those broken pieces go flying out into your eyes during a crash? Come on man.
If you dont race professionaly, just get a helmet with an internal sun visor. Compared to one without, they are _slightly_ "unsafer", (but still properly certified) and are so much more user friendly. Also, more safe doesnt mean shit if you dont ride with full gear (which a lot of people do), you've got other priorities in that case.
I have a sling bag that fits my clear visor perfectly and had done sticking an extra visor inside my jacket each time I know I'd be riding my motorcycle at night. Got into a fight he punched me in my rib cage cause I think that was the best option since I'm wearing a helmet. But god that visor broke his hand, I watched him shed tears while swearing and rolling on the pavement. All the bystander watching laugh their ass off as the bully got owned by a passerby without even doing a single thing.
Since getting a transition helmet visor i will never go back, ueah wish it had a chrome or reflected finish but is so nice to always have the right tint
@@freerider8737 helmet brands are now doing visors that are clear at night and with uv rays transition to a deep dark tint very quickly (in AZ full sun takes less than 60 seconds for it to go to a deep tint) providing best visual clarity day or night
I have found most shops with hook you up with a visor bag if you ask. Obviously if your a customer and not some mooch. I haven’t even gotten a free clear visor because cycle gear is cool down here in southern Oregon.

OR You can pay a little extra and get a helmet that allows a transitioning lens! Not only is my SHOEI photo chromatic (transitioning lens) good for day or night, the optics are much nicer than looking through old school plastic.
Please never and i mean NEVER use a microfiber cloth on a visor… visors are made from polycarbonate an that is easy to scratch with a microfiber cloth, just use a 100% soft cotton cloth it is simply the best
I love bikes..and gloves and helmets are awsome and it is good to wear a jacket..but in my experience...besides a helmet and gloves I would still got the same injuries..but when my leg was ripped off I did have a tortis shell of road rash when I woke put of coma...i love motorcycles..we jst need to use restraint and common sence..hard when young 18 to 29 was hard for me😂

I got so sick of having a second visor then needing g to stop to swap it when it got dark or getting pulled over for tinted visors. So I ended up buying a helmet which had a second sun visor on the inside of the helmet. Even glasses aren't practical even though they are legal

If I’m going to need a clear, I wear the clear and a pair of shades. Easier to store shades than another visor.

20 years of daily riding and I never needed a new visor. i needed pretty much everything else but never a spare visor.
...I just use a Transition Photochromatic Visor...Deals with high-beams at night and sunshine during the day.
