      He was a genius! Blade Runner is at the top of my Top 5 favorite movies, I've been watching it since I was seven years old, to me the best version is the first one, with Harrison Ford's voice narrating, is what accentuates the movie's NOIR vibe. The work Vangelis did on the movie soundtrack, was masterful, it just wouldn't been the same without it.

    God, there can never be enough Blade Runner. I admit that I kind of pretend I live in the Blade Runner universe, makes life more interesting

      It's easier when you live in Tokyo.

      Same here. I have this weird Nostalgia for this alternate reality, that is Blade Runner. I know that this wouldn't be a nice world to live in, with repilcants, natural disasters and all, yet the beauty of the cityscape of alternate 2019 LA is so strong, that I somehow still wish I would live in this reality. Daaamnnn... And I don't live in Tokio or another cyberpunk city, which makes this even harder.

    Strange how a film, along with its soundtrack, can instil such a sense of belonging and familiarity within oneself. I’ve spoken to many other hardcore Blade Runner fans about this. It’s almost as if we are originally from this fictional world and have a longing to return. Unreal creativity. Too bad we won’t live…….

    Philip K Dick wrote the book that inspired this film, Blade Runner. Philip once read about a Nazi soldier that could not understand the sheer agony and sorrow of starving children. Philip then went on to claim that these people could not possibly be human. They were monsters pretending to be human as they could not sympathize nor empathize with dying children. This is the core meaning behind Blade Runner and the androids known as Nexus-6. However, in the film, we come to think about even more concepts and human constructs like what does it mean to be human. It begs the question, if a machine can feel joy or sadness like a person, does that make them human?

    • @RootinrPootine
      @RootinrPootine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In what way is that core meaning? The androids are the children?
      Machines will never think or feel, that’s a category error.

    • @BleedForTheWorld
      @BleedForTheWorld 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RootinrPootine Yeah, never say never. Technology advanced enough would seem like magic to us.
      Yes, the androids would be the children as this is also highlight during the film. Can you guess who the monster is?

    • @RootinrPootine
      @RootinrPootine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BleedForTheWorld yeah it’s just starving children typically aren’t also powerful killing machines when trying to survive.
      Consciousness is not an emergent property of matter, it is not caused by brains or whatever, so is not nor can there be a progressive series to steps to get to consciousness. It either exists or it doesn’t, and it must always already underlie the physical being for there to be anything called “experience” at all. It is logically prior.
      So no, there will never be thinking machines. The term has no meaning, it’s just metaphor. And not a good metaphor either.

      @@RootinrPootine anyways upload brought me here, very beautiful! as far as machines and Consciousness though... I am conscious and my Consciousness realizes that it is separate from, not this meat suit/ vessel. Ergo astral projecting lucid non lucid dreaming remote viewing and all the goodies that happen on this material plane. After all my years of tearing apart machines rebuilding and tearing them down computers internal combustion Electric and watching a lot of house I have come to the conclusion that I am a very very high-tech full of millions of sensors called nerves five input...or more😉 sensory array ect. Anywho I am Consciousness having a sensory experience with this sensory vessel oh yeah by the way you don't need to have a whole bunch of sensors to embody a thing just consciousness I can't wait to learn how to speak Rock... but then again I probably already know great thread guys

      @@forrestparsons2378 It is neither the case that Cartesian dualism holds up to logical scrutiny. The mystery remains. For the simple reason that we have much better grounds for believing in mind then we do for believing in body. As medieval and ancient people would say, the body is in the mind, not the other way around. But anyway they are in an intimate union. Matter is a vague concept, whereas mind is primordial datum, so to speak. Impossible to not “know”, because simply said, it IS experience.

    Great artworks! But unfortunately the sound seemed somehow degenerated on my stereo setup compared to previous version. Some aliasing in there? Don't know. Lesser stereo. And bass frequencies somehow seemed to be cut off.
    But the visuals are really stunning

      It’s highly processed thru a complex chain of fx plug-ins. It’s my “ambient mix” of the original.

      Greetings,
      The music is beyond great, the work on the video is spectacular, everything is in focus, it's awesome! I have one request though, if you ever get around to it, if it makes sense to you that is, to make this video with the sound of your original non-4K video. This sound is too sharp at times. The previous sound, the non-ambient type, it will blend perfectly IMHO with the etherealness of your creation.
      Regards,
      Christos
