How do I use imported static objects to use as obstacles? The fluid always passes through an imported object

This can happen if your obstacle is not water tight. Did you check for non manifold data? Other questions are if the object is moving export animated mesh is required to be enabled. And the simulation resolution must be high enaugh to work with thin obstacles. If nothing helps you could use our support form to send a request. Optimally with your blend file.

@@FLIPFluids it would be a static imported object, for example a t-shirt that I made in another software. The object is actually a little thin, I increased the resolution to 300 and the fluid passes through. I also tried with a tennis shoe, which is already thicker, it also goes through

Maybe, you need to check for non manifold data. Otherwise this can happen.
On the other hand - the simulation resolution needs to be high enaugh, too.

Is it possible to change water texture to any image source? For example, some fluid painting. Does Flip fluids needs a UV to map and scale image texture on mesh data? I tried to add an image texture but get only the main color, no details, I can't figure out how to scale or arrange size of this material. Do you have any tutorial on how to play with materials, even animated materials? Thanks

Unfortunately that’s not possible as the final mesh has no uv data.
You can do some mapping, but a texture will never move together with the fluid in a beautiful way. Actually.

@@FLIPFluids thank you for this quick response. I'm used to this with c4d and realflow, so I was hoping to get lucky with flip fluids! Keep on your good work. Thanks anyway!

love your videos but a tiny request is to change/turn down the background music. it's intrusive and jarring to what otherwise is a great tutorial. thanks!

Thank you for your constructive criticism. Others gave us the same hint and in the latest videos we started making it better :).
