Figured I'd do something productive while on quarantine and I literally love lsoh so yeah heres this.
I do not own the song, characters, story, anything. All I did are the drawings.
Made with paint tool sai and movavi video editor - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
He looked so desperate I almost forgot what an abusive jerk he was, masterful expressions
Same, i love this video
"Oh boy Seymour, the things we're gonna do to your mouth."
"This is gonna be a pleasure" XD
"It turns me oooon"
g a y
Suddenly gay
XD
"Seymour isnt sympathetic in the musical" are you telling me NOTHING about his singing is sympathetic?? He sounds so weak and vulnerable, especially when he says "death..." He truly is contemplating what he did, its really powerful
Seymour burns through a LOT of goodwill with the audience. I still feel he's ultimately sympathetic, but he does some fucked up shit over the course of the story (esp. Mushnik's death.)
@@icarusavery5691 Mushnik took
advantage of him repeatedly.
Remember the beginning when he lists what Mushnik did for him and Audrey basically told him it sounded like he was being used?
The fact that Mushnik was profiting off of the literal blood of a young man who he’d been taking advantage of for years at that point is what’s more
fucked up.
In fact, I'd argue that Mushnik deserved it more than Orin
@@icarusavery5691 there’s even a whole
song where Mushnik adopts him in order to emotionally manipulate him into staying at the flower shop.
@@jackster9775 I agree I think Orin is less psychopathic than Mushink even no he brings the crowd to laughter when he rips a tooth out of a kid's jaw for fun and happiness I guess
@@ellathedino see Orin has signs of PTSD.
The medicine for PTSD back then was usually an addictive drug of some sort and unless you were a dentist/doctor, the medicines weren’t and still aren’t cheap.
I forgot how disturbing this whole sequence is, in the movie it's pretty quick, but drawing it out and making it a whole song just makes it so much more intense
Imagine literally suffocating to death, and deciding to belt out into song while doing it
He’s real asf for that
@@hi-yy1wn FRRR
Goddamn, Orin bashing his head on the floor and bleeding everywhere is so effective! Incredibly creepy visual, and also a simple way to show that Orin's losing control of his body. (The fakeout where Seymour thinks he's already dead, before he gets up again, is great too.)
The way I got so used to Christian Borle hiting the note on "Cause it really is a rotten way to GO" 😭🤚
That akward moment when you feel sympathy for a total ficitional jerk...Even if he wounded an innocent protagonist...
Probably because it probably was a painful death
Honestly feeling sympathy for Orin just means you're a better person than him.
@@FritzMonorail Well, thanks.
That’s the point; the entire purpose of the story is meant to be Faustian and every character is meant to be perceived as “bad.” That’s not just me theorizing... if you pay attention to the lyrics of many of the songs you’ll find it’s all in there (e.g. “...feel the _sturm_ _and_ _drang_ in the air...”)
Seymour is really meant to be pathetic instead of the sympathetic protagonist that Moranis presented, but both portrayals are entertaining in their own right. The original presentation is perhaps more meaningful though.
Yup
The blood on Orin's face is a really nice touch!
Honestly, i think this is my favorite version of this song, cause it perfectly balances the whole insanity and calm acceptance that Orin has about dying, plus, i just like that there isn't a lot of yelling
The newer Broadway cast was more comical and less serious..... It really annoyed me that Seymour said death so casually in the newer version ,even though it made me laugh. I like this version better, because Seymour is more sympathetic and Orin isn't yelling every line when he's technically supposed to be out of breath. I mean "duh!" Broadway he's dying, even if it's a musical number!
I think the yelling is a nice touch. And it kind of bothers me but in a nice way. Also I like the way you used insanity
I also like that the laughting sounds like it could come from just the gas but also that Orin could genuently find it hularious how his death is playing out
In this version of the song you feel more sympathy for Orin. In the broadway cast recording tostadas the end he starts to sound desperate but still like a absolutely maniac and when the section at the very end he starts to sound aggressive and more angry than anything. It this version he is truly pleading.
I just love how ghost Orin is just going no, NO! At the rest of the play
ghost orin at the end just being like 'wtf stop it no' is hilarious ngl
There was a lot of sharp dentist equipment lying around.
Why didn't he just use it to stab holes into the mask or even slice off the tubes connected to the mask?
he was too busy making sure he wasn't flat, the song was more important clearly
ok that makes sense 🤔
Orin’s not exactly the most mentally stable (or the most intelligent) villain in Little Shop of Horrors.
He was loopy from the gas-meaning he might not have been physically able . Also dentist equipment isnt as sharp as you think it probably wouldn't have worked, especially if it's an expensive gas mask, the tubes are specifically designed to be sturdier so they dont tear
@@thomasleitstein2181 ok that makes even more sense and explains everything - which just means the guy is screwed no matter what he does
Tell you what… This animatic makes both characters look 10x hotter 😍
orin pusbing seymour away and the very end is just🤌🤌🤌🤌 it adds so much to the emotions here, like
seymour is having this major moral crisis, and orin is facing his own death and aksing for help, and right when it seems like seymour has made the decision to help him, orin has accepted his fate. there were other ways for this to go, but by the time he realized it, it too late.
Can we just acknowledge that Seymour’s life sucks so much that only 2 people showed him authentic love and kindness where it was clear they had no ulterior motive and one of them beat the other to hell?
Like Audrey and Orin were the only ones being nice and suggesting that Seymour does whatever he (as in Seymour) wants with the plant.
Mushnik gaslights and manipulates him into sharing it by adopting him.
I absolutely adore this animatic, especially the fluid expressions they have! I hate that this song wasnt in the movie though 😔
I totally didn't steal this
Timing and budget
Ikr
I feel this song deserves so much more attention.
it really does
omg just got flashbacks because covid shut down school 5 days before opening night!
this took me back
YES IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR AN ANIMATIC OF THIS SONG THIS LOOKS AMAZING
This is actually really good, though
Today I had to have some of this gas because I had two of my teeth pulled out and I started humming this lol
WHY DO PEOPLE MAKE ORIN LOOKS SO ATTRACTIVE
cuz he is
The way you see more instantly regrets it at the end is so cute though
Edit: I'm not using a Dharr Man reference so please don't bother me about it
FR OH MY GOD
I love this song and this animatic is great, and the fact that Orin dies already made me so sad in the first place, but after seeing how it's been depicted here,I'm just a wreck...guess it's just another proof of how great this animatic is
This is the one sympathetic moment for the dentist
Why this song was left out of the movie, I'll never know. It's a great number!
It was left out because it made Seymour less sympathetic. At 1:24 he admits that he knows what he is doing is wrong.
This is such an underrated animatic
And a bit terrifying
@@thechaosinsurgency451 just think about how it's so much better than Orin screaming and yelling while dying with blood all over his face on the floor anyway.....
Suddenly Seymour.......is not wearing a hat anymore what’s up with that?
please provide me with some sweet understanding......I drew those frames days apart and by the time I noticed I had no drive to fix it
BigDaddyHack I’m sorry man/woman/person, i was just joking around I’ve never tried anything like this but I’m sure it can’t be easy
BigDaddyHack I actually really enjoyed the video and really hope others get the chance to enjoy it too
@@harrisonwilfong9130 no worries!! but thank you!! trust me next time I make one of these though I'll make sure objects don't randomly disappear lmao
@@bigdaddyhack1574 In the play left his hat in the dentist office and the cops saw his hat
man, franc luz is my favourite orin by far. idk what it is about him. he feels less crazed but he's still incredibly creepy. you did a great job w/ this
I'm absolutely in love with the way you draw Orin, 100/10 top-tier dentist design
Wow, you really did an incredible job depicting the horror of this scene!
there's a lot of falling in this animatic lmao
This is so good!!! This is my absolute favorite song from the musical, and this is my favorite version of it! AND THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!! The background!!! Literally everything about this is SO GOOD and perfect.

Seymor: No. (Transforms into Angelica Skylar)

Why did I write that-
That shit is cringe wut
To be honest this is such a terrifying way to die to me
is this over a year old now? yes. am i obsessing over lsoh right now and watching this animatic over and over and over? also yes.
anyway, lets get on to the actual comment:
THE EXPRESSSIONS KFUHGSHOGHLHLH i love the expressions.. i was gonna make one of those things where you point out your favorite moment but i quickly realized it was almost the whole thing.
buT, if i had to chose, it'd be 0:46 for Orin and 2:28 for Seymour
also, and i know this quite the odd compliment but, the way you draw Orin is very gender.
i thank you for making this, as without it; my spotify wrapped wouldn't be as concerning as it was last year, and i wouldn't know this whole song by heart
This song SCREAMS sickening ecstasy
YES JUST YES, everything about this animatic is simply amazing except for the fact that Orin died. just this song in general is perfect except for the fact that Orin died I like the pace. The version of this song you picked aswell really went with your black, grayish purple, and red theme. I honestly really enjoyed it thanks for uploading it you get a cookie.
Have A Great Day =)
Why is this so.. unbelievably.. a r o u s i n g ?

"Well...... Wall? HAHA you said well?"
im boutta fail a class because im watching this and not doing an essay that was due a month ago and ill be honest its worth it
ORIN WAIST IS SO SNATCHED
I love this, also Arthur Denton is such an underated thing abt this movie...
I can't stop watching this, I'm obsessed. The expressions are perfect. I love the art style. This is just amazing, awesome job, Creator!
I LOVE THISSS
im obsessed w this
On god this is better than any live performance of this I've seen. The expressions are so, so good.
Its strange how they don't have more followers
I never realized how different the soundtrack of now changed from the musical to the movie but quite plesant, very epic animation
Is this missing a verse? By Seymour: "what we have here is a tricky moral problem... I can off the guy by staying in the chair" or was that added in the 2003 version(which is the one I'm in a production of as Seymour)
Nah, most likely this is just a cut down version of the song, if you watch a recording of it, "what we have here is a tricky moral problem... I can off the guy by staying in the chair" is present in the 1984 original offbroadway musical as well.
@@vfritz9441 okay then
@@vfritz9441 Actually, the verse is only in the 2003 Broadway version of the Musical. It’s possible that crew added that to make the sequence longer.
@@rogersstinson4019 You can actually go check out an old recording of the 1984 production here on TH-cam. Just type in 'Little Shop of Horrors West End Production - 1984' and you should find it. Seymours verse starts around 51:30 and though the audio quality is not the best you should be able to clearly hear it if you turn up your volume.
I’m glad they didn’t put this in the movie. It’s not that the song is bad, I think it just works better with an actual scene, not a song.
Is it sad that I’ve been watching this nonstop for about three days
No! Not at all! You're probably just going through the Little shop of horrors obsession that I'm going through.
This is great
Guys, i dont care if he'd pull the trigger. Between those two, seymor is still a saint.
And nothing of value was lost that day.
They did the play at my school. This was my favorite part, but the play wasn't exactly like this.
One thing I never understood was why Orin had such an addiction to “gas”.
It's like getting high
Nitrous oxide is addictive, or at least the high it causes is.
Yes! This is awesome :)
This is amazing it really makes you feel bad for him
Woah! I completely adore your artslye! This is a great! 100/100 animatic! Great movie too!
I saw the musical on Broadway for the first time today, and this song was my favorite. This really captured the disturbing element of it. Great job!
Seymour looks like Arnold from Magic School Bus.
THIS IS SO FUCKIN COOL!!!!!
orin is simultaneously gay and homophobic- i will not elaborate. thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
No bc you're right
SO TRUE 😭
Truest statement I have ever read
Ive never wanted a Man more In my life to cause me such pain
HELP WHY ARE THEY ATTRACTIVE
i cant get over this animatic, its just perfect
WAIT THE F*** RIGHT AS HE HEARS ORIN FALL OVER HE SMILES THE F***
prolly relieved that he doesn’t have to shoot the guy

Why do I feel like they love each other.
(me thinking inside my head): wait is this meant to be gay?!
Orin's boot's are so perfect
I've never heard this song. Mainly because I've only ever watched the movie. Because frankly the movie is perfect in every single way.
Watch the musical I've seen both movie and the musical it's awesome 😁
I'm honestly shocked that this comment section isn't full of a bunch of people telling you it's the wrong ending and that the sad one is better. Talk about not respecting opinions with people like that! I'm just glad nobody got on you about it.
God this song omg the lyrics
Gas station
this made it onto my gender playlist
Damn
Here's a question for the ages:
Did Orin DESERVE to die?
He was a huge abusive jerk, but it's kind of a Ram and Kurt situation. I truly believe he should have gotten karma, but being dead should never be the first choice.
he ded
I love this
oh my god, I love teh expressions
Hey is that Audrey 2?
Why is the original cast so sad 😭

Why are there never actually animations they’re always animatics
because animation takes way longer and is extremely hard to fuckin make, animatics are easier for making fanart of things, and don't require as much work so like, ye
@@bigdaddyhack1574 I know animation is extremely hard but you would think that you would at least one animation. From what I see they are all animatics
@@poopydoopyhaha9756 ....are you paying them? no? then _why are you demanding full-blown animation when they don't have you pay to watch this_
@@hibikiotonokojishslvocalis7550 im just saying that among the hundreds of animatics you would find at least one actual animation
u should try making an animation of the song urself, i'm sure you'd be great at it 🙃
