I've never played this game and you just made this not only insanely entertaining, but completely understandable to a non-player. I followed everything 100% and watched from start to finish. Amazing. Subscribed.
Winter is easily one of the best casters I've ever seen. He does a fantastic job of catching most of the action, he has stories about the well known players. And he doesn't flood the audio with the usual "ALL CAPS REACTION"
Clem's gotta feel bad about this one. Nothing's worse than watching the replay and realizing your opponent forgot adrenal glands existed and *still* won.
I've been watching Winter's subscriber total go up by a few thousand over the past few months. I know it's because he's so good but I also hope it's because there is a resurgence in SC2 players. 2:17 - there's the sales pitch! lol
That game 2 has to be in contention for game of the year, there were 5+ points that i had thought both players had won it only for it to swing back in the others favor.
Dude you are becoming my morning content, my lunch and dinner companion. thanks for the great content and attitude, I don't even play Starcraft but your casting make these videos super entertaining. Keep it up
You know what game 1 teaches? Banelings are still fine folks. Totally fine. Zerg still gets to do zerg things, secure early defense, get eco, make ling/bane and whatever auxiliary unit you want, roach/rav, ultra, hydra, it doesn't matter, because the anchor of the attack, the ling/bane, is still fine. That 12:18 attack, pushes into four siege tanks, 2/2 marine medivac marauder, and a planetary, and while it doesn't kill the planetary, it did what it was supposed to, destroy key units, keep terran supply low, and hobble eco while the zerg winds up for another one on more bases. That span when zergs weren't doing ling/bane after the nerf was just like the overeaction when terrans weren't making widow mines. Now, maybe you just need more of the auxiliary units, maybe the attack has to come a minute later to catch 2/2 on a better economy, but it's still going to be effective, and banelings are still going to swat down planetaries with full saturations of scvs trying to repair.
Look at how well Rogue played with those mutas. Clem had no idea the mutas were coming and was caught off guard, it took him forever to get AOE damage out to deal with the mutas, never scouted the center base and probably assumed he was much further ahead and made less cautious plays because of that. And Rogue was still never ahead and had no map control over Clem, despite playing more skillfully, until Clem's macro failed him half an hour into the game. Mutas are so bad. To win with them you have to either be Rogue, or be playing against Gold league players.
Zerg is like fighting with two knives, Terran is like using sword and shield, and Protoss is the guy with a sledgehammer and a dream of connecting just once.
@@KingOfNebbishes You clearly havent been watching dozens of MaxPax games, where during the main fight dark templars/zealots attack multiple enemy bases at the same time.
I realize then you can turn game as you want cus at some point some unit are better on a skill like tanks can reach air unit but you make heavy ship and if you want conter that you have strong hair unit that can shoot missile so you can play unit as u want to conter some other unit
I love matchups like this - Two of the tippy-top tier from 2 different regions (thus 2 different metas) and even two different eras of Starcraft, in this case, battling it out. Maru vs Rogue - Sure, it's great, but it's not Maru vs Serral, it's not MaxPax vs Dark, it's not Raynor vs Hero.
crazy how terrans are put off tracks if they loose air superiority. the muta play micro was even far from perfect but it was enough. UPGRADED mutas are good units !
As a low APM player I quit SC2 when widow mines were showcased, aint no way I can micro against something so set and forget. I played Zerg btw and was only silver league.
I hate widow mines as Protoss, as they are, as you say, little micro for the Terran and lots of micro for the enemy. And these guys have the balls to complain about disruptors, that require very active and not that easy micro.... But i dont think even up to Plat level micro is that important, if you will macro right, you will be able to win games, widow mines or no widow mines. Im a Protoss diamond 2 player, pretty slow to, around 95 apm.
There very very very badly needs to be a visual change or some sort of indicator for adrenal glands - that should absolutely be the utmost priority of the balance council current day
Lol, what? Visual changes like combat shields and tunneling claws are done so the _opponent_ can see them. One for adrenal wouldn't change how any army interacts with them. Its certainly not the balance council's job to make the Zerg remember to get upgrades 😂
Vikings DO beat mutalisks, but it’s a somewhat close shave with similar numbers due to viking anti armor focus. Probably would have been better off making liberators
@@AtillaTheFun1337 No... only in Silver league do people make Vikings or Libs vs Mutas. Bio armies are worthless without restocking Medivacs. MMM + mines & a couple Thors are a hard counter. He could've switched from tanks earlier but otherwise Clems comp was perfect. Massive failures in scouting and bad engagements were the reason he lost.

He's a top-notch caster and occasionally funny too.
Winter's quality is remarkably consistent, I've watched quite a few years.
I’m here the same way since like a month ago 😂 I slightly know how the game works now 👍🏽
Winter is easily one of the best casters I've ever seen. He does a fantastic job of catching most of the action, he has stories about the well known players. And he doesn't flood the audio with the usual "ALL CAPS REACTION"
Have a try at the game its definitely fun good campaign and ther a coop mode you van lvl up heros that mode is fun as hell
Clem's gotta feel bad about this one. Nothing's worse than watching the replay and realizing your opponent forgot adrenal glands existed and *still* won.
He didn’t get it game 1 also… Winter says he should add it soon when the Ultras popped but he forgets to ever get it.
Zerg OP
how it warms my heart to see terrans destroyed by zergs, specifically mister wiggle mines over there 😊
Clem is playing the game (very spectacularly) while Rogue is playing the game and the player. Best Zerg v Clem series in a long time.
I've been watching Winter's subscriber total go up by a few thousand over the past few months. I know it's because he's so good but I also hope it's because there is a resurgence in SC2 players. 2:17 - there's the sales pitch! lol
When Rogue left, Dark became a superstar. Now daddy is back. You kids better behave yourself.
truer words were never spoken
Good luck to all involved
Rogue woke up and chose violence 💯, GG though Clem 💯
This was the "GAME OF THE YEAR" of this week
i fell in love with rogue all over again omg!
and the changeling part was so hilarious lol!! 44:26

this is why clem overmicros his reapers. this is what happens when his reaper gets caught
If Rogue sharpens up his micro just a little bit, I feel like he's gonna be unstoppable.
:D Thank you so much for bringing an update with some Rogue play. You make me so happy!
what an incredible game 2. rogue's grind is really showing its dividends since he got home.

Looks like Rogue is back. That was some solid micro and beautiful decision making.
I'm just happy to see Rogue back in SC2 after his military service. The fact that he seems to be in pretty good form too is the icing on the cake.
The fight at 45:54 was just wild, textbook swarm tactics 🧑🍳😙
nice finish move yes !
Mass mutas? Rogue? Hell yeah I'm watching this cast!
We are so back.
35:19 Mines, M'ghosts, M'thors
A new Winter cast really does always make the day a little bit better!
Really appreciate being able to end almost every day with a new video. Thanks man
Rogue is kinda like Serral, except its spelled as Rogue
You're so good at it that although I liked automatically before hitting fullscreen, after 1 second I hit escape just to be sure! Great man you are!

Those talents that you have in the cards in the beginning of the video, I really hope Blizzard implements it for SC2.

I;m brand new and I''ve learned so much about the game from watching your videos. Thanks for all the work you put into these brother!
Nice to see Rogue adjusting to the current scene.
Muta-Ling-Bane was the best meta. I hope it makes a resurgence. So fun to watch.
Missed you yesterday, Winter!
What a great game. Love seeing moota's! We dont see then enough
Game 2 was beautiful, so damn beautiful! I was worried when Rogue forgot Adrenal Glands, but his faith in the Mootas paid off!
love you man! amazing casting
fairly sure in GSL SHIN did a proxy hatch on Amphion, so maybe the aggression on the ladder is up there and is why Clem walled on the side.

Great video.
One of the most tense games I've seen

It's great to see Rogue finally win one, every game I had seen the bro got butchered.
