  • This is an interesting comparison, because these are two of the most popular species of parrot pets available.
    At the same time, green cheek Conyers are very different from Cockatiels. Sure, there are a lot of similarities in size and being easy to take care of, but one of them can learn to talk the other sing. One of the species goes through biting phase, the other doesn’t.

    I have 4 cockatiels. Three females and one male (all dna sexed). My male and two of my females say phrases (what are you doing, peekaboo, I’m a good bird) and they also sing specific tunes. Only one of my females doesn’t talk or sing. That being said, I’ve been told it’s not that common for cockatiels to talk as much as mine do. But we love them.

      Your Tiels sound awesome!!! You are lucky that they talk, what a treat. But they are lovable either way, I agree!

      Ohhh- how old was your Sun? Was she loud? How long did she live? Always wanted one, but they are supposed to be loud, and we have Amazons, so we’re avoiding more LOUD! Crazy!

    Do have a crimson belly/green cheek comparison? Id love to hear that one. And I agree most tiels are sweet and calm, as I've seen but as we know there are exceptions. My cousin's cockatiel was nasty..lol. He ONLY liked her. He didn't even like her parents, although he did tolerate her sister a bit better..sometimes.

    I have a very bitey cockatiel, but I cant blame him after what hes been through! Very moody and fiesty haha, I just wish he was more playful like a conure. My boy is cuddly with me and just wants to hang out and whistle as loud as possible to me(although he wants to fight everyone else lol), but he doesnt play much, just gets angry if I point at him lol. Thinking of adding a conure to my flock, so I can have a play buddy(conure) AND a cuddle buddy(my tiel! Lol)

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds good - keep in mind that the GCC and Tiel probably wont get along or you'll have to watch to make sure the Tiel doesn't get hurt.

    How do your Cocatails and Green Cheek get along living together. Do you have them in separate cages ? I'm worried the Green Cheek my be aggressive my Cocatails. Which bird do you prefer to pair with Cocatails in the same household.

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the GCC are too aggressive. The Cockatoos are separate. They are housed with Budgies, a Red-rumpled and a Princess Parrot. They all do great together.
