    Watching on replay. I understand everything about using the calculator. My problem is always trying to figure out what I should be charging as an hourly rate. Should I go by what the current minimum wage is or something else? Once I have the hourly rate part out, everything else should fall into place.

    • @SmillyDonut
      @SmillyDonut 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My humble advice. Don't charge less than minimum wage as your hourly rate. Start with a rate that you feel is fair for your current skill and experience. You can increase your hourly rate over time if need be.

    Watching 7 months later from central Illinois. I’ve been selling for almost 10 years now. I haven’t put a lot of effort behind it, but made enough at the one event I would do in the fall to pay for most of Christmas for my kids. I’m wanting to grow for realsies now and just found your channel a few days ago. As it turns out, my guesstimated pricing was spot on for some things and under for others. Will be adjusting and honing my product line accordingly. Thanks so much for all the useful content!

    Hello, Im watching this 2 years after you posted. Ive been selling fabric products for quite a while and I was able to figure out my prices by seeing the range of prices on etsy for similar items. I cant do that w crochet tho!! Im focusing on learning amigurumi this year but havent a clue what to charge! Crochet hasnt sold well here in Omaha but the Ami booths have been extremely popular. :) thanks for your time and advice!

    My pricing is different. I belonged to a group that used a computer program to track which day, times, and pricing during a 1 month Christmas craft fair. The chart went askew on the $5 price. So I gear my items 75% for what sells comfortably for $5 and talk up most items as upcycle such as fabric samples and items made from former curtains, etc.

    Thank you ,Pam for your knowledge. I have crocheted many things, but never knew how to price them. I friend has told me for many yrs I should be selling my items. I to live in kinda of a rural town and don't think people will pay . Anyway I don't think I want to do online selling. But I am subscribing to your channel. I mostly make things and give them away. Hats are my favorite vto make and fingerless gloves. I have made garments but mostly for myself and for my best friends.

    With clothing would you charge more for larger sizes? Because they need more yarn. Only I have made a small cardigan with half the amount of yarn balls and I wouldn't have to charge too much, but I made one in a larger Size and if I charged the same as the small I'd make no profit x

    I'm replaying the replay! I like this pricing calculator better than two other ones I've used.
    One from Craft Maker Pro (which is a whole accounts program but there is something a bit dated about it).
    The other one from Time Saving Templates.

    So for example, if you make a hat, and of course you don't use all the yarn, how do you figure how much yarn you use for your supplies rather than put the total of the whole yarn in the supplies tab, do you have formula how to figure that out

    I don't crochet as fast as some might. What is a way to determine how many hours it took me to make a purse that is very detailed? Small tight stitches (knit stitches), and using multiple colors in the bag. It took more time than just doing a simple sc or dc. But, since I made it over 5 days, I have no idea how many hours I actually did, and how much time someone else who is more experienced would have taken.

    I have a question, for plushies, what do you think of charging supplies+a flat rate based on size and difficulty+fees/business expenses? Because with plushies, you get a lot less product for your time vs most other projects and people are more willing to put a cap on how much they are going to spend for a toy than for clothes, blankets, etc. So, say I made a large bat, it was fairly easy so I made the flat rate $30 (just throwing out random numbers), but I also made a unicorn that is about the same size but twice as hard so I added the flat rate of $50. Could you see that working for a business?

Would you kindly send your inquiry to pam@crochetpreneur.com and I will personally get this taken care of of for you. Please note whte devide you're using to download this PDF. Thanks, Pam

    Ok took 8 minutes to get to the real presentation. So skip ahead folks. Otherwise we’ll reasoned and useful. But, you can price whatever you want but who would buy it if they can get a much cheaper version at TJ Maxx? So it has to have a value beyond, like a better material, creative design, or branding.
