Yeah exactly that sir. And good for her she's earned it, her family has done wonders with her obviously and have earned it, and yeah 10k hrs was thousands of hours ago right. We can't all find our passion at 2, continue to love every minute of it from there, and get professional experience for 10 years already at only 16. And lucky us too to be here for it with an opportunity to catch up on her music and story, before she blows up with her own music. Something so wholesome, witnessing her journey.
I can't even find anything to worry about other random crazy people or events or something, not even republic records who seem to have bowed down and just offered their services as far as this industry goes, thus far, like anyone should. Not that they won't make some monies. She's human, probably, and a kid trying to grow up in our crazy world, we should be worried at this age but I don't know, just not. Just hope people are there for her when she needs them, and would imagine that's what they do and here she is right.
She's not called young legend for nothing. Her fanbase grows steadily, cause once you heard her sing you gonna come back for more.

Miss Jordan is 16. My mother was in a big band trio so good they opened for Frank Sinatra, and I've been listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Peggy Lee, and so on for seven decades. This "girl" is miraculous. I have no idea how she can cover these songs without being rote or rigid or predictable in any way.....miraculous.

Angelina is only 16, although (incredibly) she has been performing live and on TV for nine years now. But can I just emphasize something here - this is a live OUTDOOR performance of this Whitney Houston classic - and yet Angelina still can sound this amazing! Whitney - we miss you dearly - but your most epic song is in safe hands.

The remarkable fact is Angelina is a seasoned professional at 16. She has been performing, composing and recording over the past 10 years as much as she and her family cared to. Same goes for now. They are doing exactly whatever they want with the limitless respect, support and demand she has earned. The future is coming at their pace and it is fun to watch.
We tend to forget her age. She is far beyond it anyway. Not many artist with a back catalog and a voice like hers at 8yo, 10yo, 12yo, 14yo and now at 16yo. Very interesting Journey we are having with this lovely girl. 🤗

I remember she struggled a bit with the high notes on this song when she was quite a bit younger. This time she got through those high notes with ease. She has such a good breath support and her tone is just mesmerizing.
Love to see a dude get this enthusiastic about her singing. Many American guys wouldn't admit thier emotion over this young ladies voice. I'm American and I can relate to Frank here.
Love this performance. Pretty much her coming out party, like "ok here's what will dominate the concert scene in this generation!"
Fighting constantly with the wind blowing her hair into her face, and taking the time to wave to someone in the crowd, she was able to keep 100% focused and aware, NEVER missed a note, a key, or one second of her impeccable timing! Not even out of breath! Just absolutely stunning!
The hair thing: Quite few comment about it. I find it irritating at times, but, thing is, it's intentional - fly-away bangs - meant to bring focus to the face. Quite few performers use them. Angelina had them in her first song, Bohemian Rhapsody, and kept them, so she knows what she's doing.

I always ask myself when I read some negative comments: Why do the critics only ever compare Angelina's performances with this song to Whitney Houston's studio version and never to Whitney's live performance??? Whitney's studio version was recorded in a high-end studio with an army of professional musicians and countless takes, and she was 29 years old. I don't know of any live performance by Whitney that even comes close to the quality of the studio version. One exception was at the 1993 Billboard Awards, but there were rumors that it was playback, but I don't think so. I would like Angelina to do a studio version, but Angelina doesn't have to prove herself, she already does it with every single song. 💯 *AJ* 💯

Yes, spectacular and after her last concert on July 10th when Angelina told why she sings this song and dedicated it to her grandma Mery Zamani, I understand this song completely differently. Before it was a beautiful song sung great, now it hits my heart every time. 🤗🤗

Let us pause for a minute to appreciate what Angelina just did. Still feeling the effect of Jet lag on a cold and windy day, this was her second performance of the same song. This event was being recorded to be televised the following day. Due to some technical issues, she was asked to perform it again. Angelina the ultimate professional obliged with a phenomenal live performance that Outshines even the best studio performances of this song.
This was pure class, pure talent, pure beauty, pure magic, and simply pure Angelina.
From the very first word, there was so much feeling in Angelina's voice that I had tears in my eyes.
You might appreciate some info. on AJ's performance: It's one from several at this event over the years, which is sponsored by Norway's second official broadcaster, TV2. It's aired all over Scandinavia. By tradition the people in the audience get the live feed on their phones with a lyrics overlay. It's such a huge venue without mega-screens so the in-phone visual helps, and the idea is to sing along (Title of the festival: Allsang pa Grensen - "everybody sings at the border" [the drone b-roll is of Fredricksten fortress in the city of Halden on the border between Norway and Sweden]) TV2 is known for its high quality production, which really helps in the outdoor setting. In fact, they taped this performance twice, no break - rumor says because AJ asked for it. This was a homecoming of sorts for AJ with a big TV audience (the point of it all really) and she rolled out her newest persona/voice - Diva. Her performance skills and statuesque beauty now match the Diva part. She recorded this at home four years ago with a voice barely strong enough to cover the final belting. This time she has power to spare, with a broad, rich and warm voice of a master pop singer/performer - can she belt, or what? An amazing performance.
I love that culture of community all singing. That transition at 8:00 was so smooth, flawless. It is such a wonderful journey watching her grow up and hearing her voice mature. Yes, she is becoming a worldwide legend.
True, Angelina has the abilities, the only thing missing is recognition.
…from the masses. She has been getting recognition from musicians and lovers of good music since she was half her current height.
I have a feeling that recognition will explode once she reaches adulthood, right now her family is wisely protecting her from the pitfalls of young fame. Meanwhile she is honing her craft, mastering her instrument, refining her sound so that when she is ‘unleashed’ on the masses, she will dominate the music scene, in my opinion.in the meantime she is getting ready to release her first album, let’s see what happens next

Early fan recordings showed it two times back to back. I think they were filming for television. The site l believe is a fortress ruin on the border of Sweden and Norway. This particular celebration is an audience sing along that happens every year.

With this performance I noted that Angelina has made huge strides in the developed of her stage presence. Not only did she look beautiful in that gown but her body, hand and head movements were spot on.
And doesn't she look as beautiful as she sounds.
I think the people she has around her is still protecting her because of her age so she hasn't really gone 'mainstream' yet, but just imagine how her popularity will explode when she turns 18 and the following couple years after that. She is 'Adele 2.0' in a waiting room right now.

The only versions of this song worth listening to are performed by Whitney, Sohyang, and now Angelina. If you compare AJ's earlier performance (at 13) of "I Have Nothing" with this performance, you'll immediately understand her growth in this genre. She is spectacular here, fully worthy to be compared to Whitney. And AJ is . . . 16 years old. Just mind blowing.

@@SCHTRAM Well, I have to be frank. Jessie sings with GREAT technical ability, but she conveys only a fraction of AJ's sincerity and emotional engagement. Let's not get into the differences in vibrato, dynamics, phrasing, etc. -- but they all go AJ's way, IMHO.
Actually for me personally, I love her first performance of this song just as well. At that age , she blew my mind with that performance.

The sweet little girl who sang on that same stage at just 8 years old has grown up, in every sense, is now a wonderful artist, very professional but who retains that wonderful passion for music and always manages to excite us with every splendid interpretation. Here she is even more charming and mesmerizing as well as having a unique voice, with her typical and beautiful vocal variations of hers. She is simply magical, on her first return to Norway in more than two years, like a Frozen princess. 💛🧡❤️

Hello again Fable. Can you even imagine ? She had to perform this song live two times IN A ROW, only 30 seconds apart. And that was after she performed it during both the sound check AND the rehearsals. Effectively she performed this song 4 times in a short time period. Incredible stamina and voice/breath control to sound like this on the fourth inning. She also performed "Bohemian Rhapsody" at least twice. Just incredibly impressive. She is the future G.O.A.T. There simply is no doubt in my mind about it. I almost can't wait until July 10th when I get to see her in concert here in Norway. I LOVED your reactions to her today. Hi poolhallshark - there are a group of AJ fans from all over the World meeting up before the concert. We are meeting at 1600 for 16.30 at Palmehaven (opposite concert) then walking to a pub called the James Clarke. Concert is 1800-2200. Think we will meet up afterwards as well. I heard from someone at the concert she did the song twice because something was wrong with the sound set up. Also that she has been declared a national treasure by her king and government.

Fil she has up'ed her game a bunch in the last 6 months. I feel if they let her go now, I'm a 100% going for her career full-time, she is going to absolutely start setting the standards instead of just meeting them. Her whole bearing is regal, and yet in the middle of this giant of a song she notices and waves at probably a young fan who is going to go away from this concert going, "she waved at me!!!!"
Angelina has learned to 'cover' her high notes by giving the highest note a bit of her vibrato to finish off the note which gives the listener the feeling of her control whether she is or not. I really liked that. Compare the singing of how she finishes the highest note on AGT the Champions in 2020 and that same note for this performance in 2022. And see how much better the current ending makes you feel as opposed to the 2020 performance. Not that the 2020 performance was terrible but it does show growth in getting her voice to lay down nicely when she wants it to.

In 2020, Angelina was vocally at the peak of an advanced level, not having the qualitative power of timbre. Now she is already in the middle of an outstanding level. That's a huge difference.
They are reading lyrics because it's a "sing-along arrangement". They got the texts of all the songs of all the artists in the show.

I saw a fan version of this and Angelina stood where she stands and performed this song twice in a row back to back (I believe this video is the second one). I don't know if she was not satisfied with the first or if there was some technical issue. Anyway, huge song, performed twice, live...just another day at the office for Angelina! Wow!

The thing that kills me is that, with this song especially, if it’s not sung exactly like Whitney sang it, then it’s not being sung properly. People have to understand that Angelina doesn’t do karaoke and rearranges the songs to make them her own, as she has done here. She sings the song the way she thinks it should be sung, not because she can’t sing it like the original, but because of the way the music moves her, and usually she’s right! People are reading the lyrics on their phones instead of watching Angelina perform. What a missed opportunity!

Wondering what the tough part is? She is without a doubt the best at least for me. The other versions may be a one or two times listen. Hers is on automatic replay.
Fil, yep, no such thing as a tough call for Angelina. The lady will tackle any song and stamp her own mark on it. There is no reason why a live performance can't match a studio recording (after all you're singing live in a vocal booth) provided that studio recording was done clean. In all my time as a studio and live sound engineer there were two ladies that stood out who found careers at session vocalist, because at that time looks mattered. (nowdays we have Susan Boyle who kicked the people who judge into place).

I think this version is in a lower key than the one she recorded at age 12 or 13.
Although I’m sure she has the range to go higher, I think the richness of her ever maturing voice made this later version more powerful in the slightly lower key.

The foundation of her music genius is so strong because of her appreciation of the basics & her immense skill in presentation & arrangement... we hear the music differently when she performs...it sounds different, but better......this is really unique...she can do it as few before her ever have .. ...she exhibited this talent at 8 but now the vocal tools & mastery are all there....amazing!

@@johnbattles1002 one of the few current singers that's in her universe today is Cynthia Erivo...she's outstanding also, but totally different...many have compared Angelina to Mozart & if you recall that great scene in Amadeus where he takes Salieri's ditty for the king, memorizes it in a flash & improves upon it immediately as Salieri stands by dumbfounded....i always think that when Angelina performs & makes every song her own...just astounding, but i love great talent (though its difficult to find) & she fits the bill!
You should listen to her singing (I have nothing) when she was 12 years old, she really cut loose on that one. On that one remember that she is only 12 she even went higher with her notes on that rendition.
