In this video, I take you behind the scenes on a lipstick commercial video in the studio. Giving you some behind the scene and tips on everything from lighting techniques, setup to cameras, and lenses.

absolutely amazing content. Thank you for making this. Quick question: how did you animate the lipstick coming out of the tube. You said you recorded 1 clip with it down, then another pulled out a bit and a couple more with it coming out. How did you line them all up so that its rotating exactly with the tube? How did you mask it so perfectly and match the rotation? I'm pretty fluent in masking terminology so speak my language if you will.

The concept of this shot is pretty straight forward actually. First you need a electronic display turntable table so that you can have a consistent rotation throughout the whole filming process. Secondly, record 3 individual clips from 3> 1 lipstick ( I would suggest you to start with 3 lipsticks because it’s much easier for you to frame your shot instead of the other way round). Lastly mask out each layers individually.
@@PlaybyPause oh I understand. So u masked the original lip stick and key framed x-motion of the other 2 layers with the lip stick layer underneath the other 2.
