    Wow, fabulous. We were blessed to stay at Hapuna, when it was the Prince Resort. Loved it. We can't wait to get back to the Big Island. It's our favorite. Warm blessings from Arizona.

      It is my favorite too. I didn't realize it was the Prince Resort. I like the history of Hawaii hotels, like the Mauna Kea was built by the Parker Ranch family.

    I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for your videos! We are here now on Oahu. I learned so much from y’all! The best thing is the prescription goggles! My 12 year old almost cried when I gave her them. She can’t wear contacts and was so excited to see the fish

    You all didn't do the Mauna Kea Beach Resort justice. It is one of the most beautiful locations/beaches in the world. The rooms I have stayed in (three of them) were all very well updated and luxurious. Plus - the STAFF at the Mauna Kea is the most amazing part. They all seem to want to be there, are willing to go out of their way to make guests stays the best ever. I can't wait to get back there next April.

    • @warrioroflight3813
      @warrioroflight3813 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, was just there and the beach is better than Hapuna much calmer. The room that we stayed in was a bit dated and the pool is pretty plain in comparison to its sister property Westin. However the Moana Kea is just a classier old Hollywood vibe altogether it's definitely a place to relax and unwind. And yes the people that work there make the whole experience memorable.

    My husband and I just finished a 2-week stay at the Fairmont, and this video made me want to hop on a plane and head right back! We used your Big Island Vacation Guides, and they were wonderful! I especially loved how you guys emphasized the importance of learning about Hawaiian culture and protecting the environment! We are big fans of your channel, and recommend your guides to all of our friends!

    Informative video. I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid for 5 nights last March, and immediately booked again for March 2023….great property and a little less expensive than the Mauna Lani, another beautiful resort. There is a short 10 minute coastal path linking the 2 resorts and many guests visit each other’s restaurants.
    Just a word about the Westin Hapuna and the Mauna Kea. They are both beautiful resorts but they both sit above the beach and there are many stairs to climb up and down so they may not be the best for mobility impaired people , whereas the Mauna Lani and Fairmont Orchid are basically at sea level so there are no stairs to climb…much easier to get from your room to the beach and pools.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a good point on those properties. Thanks for sharing. We enjoyed that walking path between the Fairmont and Mauna Lani too.

    Don’t know when you guys are heading back to Oahu next but we are heading back home today after a 8 day trip, I watched some of your videos in preparation for the trip and they were really helpful. We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian for three days and loved it and moved out of the heart of the city to the countryside for the remainder of the time and stayed at Paradise Bay resort in a waterfront cottage. It really was the best of both worlds, a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wondering if you’re familiar and curious to hear your thoughts. Hope to see a review on your channel one day if you haven’t done already. 😊

    When you say private beach at mauno, no access to others not at the hotel?

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      No beach in Hawaii is private, all are public but Mauna Kea Resort makes access for local residents and non-guests challenging. They don't let people in if the public parking lot is full and Google Reviews and our own experience make us think they aren't always truthful on that.

  • @maurinet2291
    @maurinet2291 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I missed the personalized pros and cons. At least which property is best suited for what type of experience, and an eye out towards value vs amenities that you've brought to some of your other videos; a sense of why these particular properties are singled out as opposed to their competitors. More like the vid about where to stay on Waikiki--which was fantastic. I enjoy your videos though, some day I'll make it there!

      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is wonderful, helpful feedback. Thank you! Erica and I took note. The Waikiki one was a good one! Thanks so much. Erica realized she needs to add more drawbacks to our article and other notes you suggested. We can't change the video but we will add more to the article.

    I live on the Big Island and have never heard the Kohala Coast called the Gold Coast. The Lava Coast would be a better name for it. Please don't ever call it the Gold Coast; it already has a beautiful Hawaiian name - Kohala Coast.

    You may have done a video on this already (apologies if so), but which Waikiki hotel has the best pool please? By best I mean; good vibe, great cocktails, and no kids :) Thanks

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good one as we have talked about kid-friendly pools. We think the best per your criteria is Sheraton Waikiki (infinity adult-pool that is lively but also can get busy), Ritz-Carlton's adult infinity pool (quiet though), and Halekulani.

    SO upset! We r in Hawaii now on our honeymoon and booked a bunch tours through Hawaii tours (back in July) upon ur recommendation!
    WELL the first got cancelled because they didn’t have enough ppl and they didn’t tell us, so we were up and ready to go @ 7am with nobody showing up.
    We have back to back activities this coming Sunday which I was able to book via ur link but as it turns out (only because I questioned it and no other reason) that we won’t be able to do as we won’t make it in time AND there is other dates available!
    You guys need to stop endorsing such a disorganised shambles of a company regardless of how much they are paying you!
