@@The_Karst dude that would be absolutely epic, Morningrise is probably the album i've listened to more than any other in my life (I'm 38) because I'm always hearing something new everytime. I know most people prefer other albums by Opeth but this was my first intro to Opeth and will always be my favorite. Anyways I hope I remember to look for your upload 6 months from now.
Wow. they are so clean, tight. His voice sounds close to his album version, truly a remarkable voice, and one of the only metal voices i like/stand lol
Been a long time coming to get to see them & finally i will in OCT.2024 as they will be at the Warner Theater in Washington DC & i will be there !!! A bit sad that i missed them with both Martin & AX but the new drummer is coming along very well as he has so much to learn & learn fast which he has been doing a fine job as complex as much of the newer stuff is . Gonna be a KILLER show at one great old venue & really the last of the old ones from the 70s.
i really love how they looked so passionate about death metal .. i mean opeth is awesome in what ever they do .. but i wish they kept it like this , the first 2 albums was just something from outside this universe
Im glad they didn't remain like this, I love this early opeth Era but if they didn't involve they would either release mediocre albums or they would split (that's what Mikael said and I agree with him)
Lmao at mikael completely butchering the pronunciation of apostle and then a dude in the crowd going "tsssss" Sucks the very end of the set got cut off. Funny to hear a dude say "very tight band" after Was this footage recently found? Been following the band for years and never saw this anywhere
Ian Cassidy, the uploader, is a well known taper who captured this himself. He rarely traded it, so this is the first time it's been made available to the public.
As you can see, Opeth weren’t really Black Metal because the members did not wear corpse paint on their faces. But they actually had Black Metal elements in their early stuff.
@@standinginmist their first 2 records are considered black metal mainly because of Mikael's vocal technique, you can notice his growls get deeper as they progress in time which tends more to death metal
Finally an old Opeth video that wasn't recorded on a camera from 1927
Well put XD xD
more like 1947 this time round
That bass sounds fucking killer on this recording!
3 songs... 40 mins! Opeth is beyond awesome!
Awesome, I was at this gig. The venue could hold around 200 people. Max 20 in attendance. Opeth supported by the blood divine. Great memories.
It was the other way around.. opeth supported blood divine , at bradford 2 days later opeth where 1st band on... wierd...
HOLY SHIT you lucky son of a bitch
This is the biggest golden nugget on TH-cam
4:15 Is Mikael saying "C'mon you cunts"?

@hostile blueberry 90s footage is extremely rare, but I have a few videos of Nectar. I'll upload one for Morningrise's 25th anniversary next year.
@Baris G I won't. The problem is that in the last month, the band asked me to stop sharing unreleased recordings. I'm working on it. :(

@@The_Karst wait are you serious? that's so sad... i mean you gotta respect their wishes i guess but maybe ask them if they will release it then?

This is the best quality footage of Opeth in the mid 90s I’ve ever seen. Really cool!

Are you kidding me. Whoever captured this, gold❤

@@pascalg16 Exactly. Imo Ghost Reveries is their peak though. I love these old records but even one more like it wouldn't have been as magical.
I love the new albums as well
Mikael always was a proghead at first, not a metalhead
the first three albums is whats its all about
I miss Peter
He was a fine player for sure 100%.
It would be so amazing to see the Apostle in Triumph live

not all black metal bands wear corpse paint, emperor stopped using corpse paint in 94 but that doesnt mean they're not black metal
