I think you are wrong. Forget about it means you don't realize and left to say or catching some issues, e,g, I forgot about giving my house keys to my daughter. I get lost..it means became don't know where you are, going and so on. and you have to ask for it to know how you can carry on. To sum up, it is my opinion. Maybe I made a mistake and I'm wrong.
