I've been getting fantastic results with Focus Band, Razor Claw and Attack Weight, with 6 Blue, 6 Brown, 4 White 4 Purple emblems. Only issue I've had is some special attackers, which is fair I suppose since physical attackers do actually nothing to a 6 blue scizor
Just run double hit. The mobility is more than enough to get you into the backline and hit those exact special attackers that Jake says counter you. Also attack weight is almost a must on this character because it increases the healing of bullet punch, as well as effectively replacing the attack buffs from swords dance. Insert the same thing here for weakness policy. For item three I like to run an aoes cookie, but I can see why a lot of other people would like something less risky, so probably razor claw or focus band. Also btw, PLAY AROUND THE SHIELD!!! At both (5:48) and (8:43) Jake could've potentially survived if he had gone back in with bullet punch+! Often times it's even better to go back in with bullet punch instead of using it for mobility. That's what double hit is for. The real counter to Scizor is CC though. If you're not able to get off those bullet punches, then THATS when you tend to fall. (Also Clefable gravity is cancer) (also also this is my second try at writing this comment because I accidentally refreshed the page and deleted it. Life is hell)
Double stacking while using Double Hit is definitely the way to go (in lane 😅) so hopefully more people realize that. The majority of Scizors I see go central area using Swords Dance and it seriously hurts the chances of that team winning.
As a Scizor main, she defs needs a bit extra to be good again. But first Zacian, Rapid Strike Urshifu and Glaceon need to get nerfed and/or Slick Spoon needs a nerf, and then we'll see how punchy bug performs. One thing that could be changed if Scizor still struggles after that is give Double Hit & Swords Dance extra effects depending on if you're Scizor or Scyther, like giving DH a stun on the lunge as Scizor and increased movement speed as Scyther, while SD will give Scizor hindrance resistance while building up the finisher and giving Scyther increased critic hit rate. But at least I can rest easy knowing my main is not bottom tier garbage anymore
Agreed on all points. Scyther really needs the hindrance resistance and maybe even some small increases to her tankiness. The kit is so dynamic and skill intensive but gets farted on and dies. Scizor is a brawler with no cc outside of its Unite. Spoon needs a pen reduction or an internal cooldown. It doesn't need to be gone but it needs to be reigned in.
Agreed the meta mons need to be nerfed first before we see any buffs to Scizor. It can actually have incredible runaway games depending on things so anymore buffs would be really dangerous after its already gotten some. I also 'main' Scizor and double stacking in lane while using Double Hit has been so powerful because of the mobility and steamroll potential in teamfights like at Ray. If anything, maybe their unite could use a buff?
I'm glad you showcased some central-path Scizor gameplay. Since it's come out, I always grind my way into Masters using this mon in central path. My items are weakness policy, focus band, and muscle band and my emblems are mostly the same. Once you hit 4 off of central, you evolve into scizor right before you gank either path, and you can usually do 1 of several things - Stop a push and prevent enemies from taking altaria, Slice through enemy mons, start a fight 2v1 basically on platform and survive long enough for your team to take Altaria, or even chase people who run back from the first goal. With enough practice, I've found I can usually live through these encounters with a bit of help from team even in solo queue.
As a fellow Scizor main, in my experience this is not the best way to play Scizor. The majority of the Scizors I run into also basically do the strategy you're describing and it harms our games. I find double stacking in lane while using the move Double Hit nets the most success, as you're able to deal with Attackers and run from situations that aren't as ideal while being able to steamroll at some teamfights like at Ray occasionally.

The problem with Scizor is that mages and in general sp. Atk pokemon are dominating the meta (except Zacian and Urshifu lol) and Scizor countering physical pokemon is nice but not the main reason you want to play it. And Bullet Punch could also need some sort of damage buff, it only really deals damage if you stack on Scizor and that's a necessity. But overall at least Scizor now is finally a mid tier pokemon instead of D, so that's a W I guess?
i agree that it still needs buffs, however there are some factors that can up the chances of notScyther being more useful. For example swords dance, in my opinion, is dogsh1t, compared to double hit... Small dash, long cooldown, no maneuvering ability or outplay possibility, doesn't help in escaping the enemies, in exchange for some attack boost and a charged basic attack that takes some time to fill up, can miss and it is lost fairly quickly. Also, full heal incredibly important, or eject, depending on the playstyle and as for items cookie and weight are necessary, cause once you reach 11, 12, 13 etc., that's when notScyther shines and has huuuuuuuge outplay possibilities and a fairly good engage with unite... For the third item, i put policy for obvious reasons, but buddy barrier is not bad as well... In short, you just want it as a tank, but with the added attack of weight...Lastly, for emblems i would prioritize Hp for sure, but i wouldn't neglect attack also. Soooooooooooooo everyone has been playing it the wrong way
Definitely agree Scizor is being played the wrong way at large... Double stacking while using Double Hit has been amazing ever since the first time it got buffed a while back. The majority of Scizors I see even go central area 😕and I'm afraid this video will encourage bad playing of Scizor even more. While I see merit to Full Heal I don't opt for it because your Bullet Punch still goes off while stunned. Swords Dance and its Unite are the most lacking moves.
The buffs were nice, but since the healing isn't crazy you still can notice he lacks damage. There've been countless time where I'd bullet punch a carry with like 10%hp and they'd live with 1hp. Bursting me out in the process... Stacks can absolutely help, but that's a very specific answer to the problem :\
You've got it a bit wrong here Spragels. It's not Scizor needing buffs, its the problem pokemon needing nerfs along with Slick spoon. Scizor is in a good spot right now, possibly strong if it wasn't for the special attackers and 1 dog.
I think you should try out double hit a bit more, I feel like it’s actually pretty good right now. It’s much worse than swords dance damage wise, but scizors problem isn’t really damage, bullet punch does most of that for you. It gives you so much more mobility, because not only is the dash longer range and can go over walls, it also lets you bounce away in any direction which is very useful to get a hit and disengage, then have the boosted auto to re engage. I think people focus too much on how inconsistent getting resets with it is because that’s not the moves main strength imo, though those resets do let you do some crazy things
It sorta comes back to the slick spoon here thats lead to this. If they buffed the assault vest to ignore spdef reductions, it might be too much, but they added an item that sorta made special attackers the best option to go for here.
Basically all Ive been able to do with him. He's also one of the few pokemon where i use the wheel since double hit follow up can dash to anyone to help rush the back.
Not sure how effective your Float Stone was but I think this game would have been much easier with a Focus Band/Attack Weight instead. I think Scizor is pretty immortal and braindead after level 11.
Ramping up the bullet punch damage across the board just slightly would help. Make it so scizor is more rewarded in longer brawls either by more tank stats as u keep punching or hindrance reductions or just more healing as scizor gets lower. Scyther is fine, crazy enough in good hands with resets but still squishy enough to kill/lockdown I usually use scyther vs 3 or more squishy/evasive mons to get teamfight resets/picks. Or swap in scizor if my team needs more frontline or vs tanks as ur not bursting defenders/allrounders.
Yeah I see others in the comments saying the same thing, but I recommend double hit over swords dance. I don't know why people seem to undervalue double hit on Scizor, but it is leagues better right now, especially given the current meta. Scizor may not be great still, but it definitely feels manageable, whereas before it felt like playing Scizor was an instant 4v5.
I just got dpne with roughly 20 matches tonight. Most jad scizor and not gonna lie every songle match ot took 2-4 team mates and like a solid minute to kill scizor and in tha ttime frame hed almost wipe us all out. At least 8-12 matches had scizor and they were all like this. I dont want to say he doesnt need buffed cause my teams were extremely bad with 3/5 dealing 20-30k sometimes. But even on better damage teams it was still 2 v 2 scizor and he just doesnt die. The way yhet matches felt tonight, it felt like of he did get buffed again, hed basically be zacian basically unkilliable and then dealing way too much damage. Its my first night playing since his buff so i dont think ive played long enough yet to say eitth more certainty but based off my current experiences He definitely does not need a buff.
Buff Buff buff content creators once again suggesting thing without thinking just because it feels underpowered. theres another solution without needing to make characters overtuned by nerfing the metas or characters that are still overtuned mainly Zoroark, Urshifu, Zacian and the new broken glaceon
Honestly, if you run weight amp razor with full heal you could pick either scizor or scyther. Scyther with a full heal is a decent counter to attackers in general. I think that they could definetly give scizor itself something to help with the special attackers tho.
I think buffs were pretty descent it survives a bit longer now, but I think the range from where Scizor leaps to it's bullet punch should be longer just to make it easier to reach opponents . . .
On Scizor I usually run Attack Weight, Razor Claw and Focus band. Not because it’s the most optimal build for Scizor, but because it works well enough on both Scyther and Scizor that I can swap between the two depending on the enemy team comp. Hopefully draft mode releases soon lol
Scizor's buff may look great but really it doesn't have a place in the meta right now. Sadly, the currently meta is leaning heavily towards special attackers, and Scizor get kited to death by those mons. Maybe if there's a ranked mode where you can pick/ban and/or counter pick opponents but with the bare minimum mirror mode, it's just not recommended to pick it xD.
I think they should buff the SD Build. Slightly increase the dash range on Swords Dance like they have on Double Hit. And maybe slightly increase the percentage of attack increase it gives you.
Jake, once you tried Bullet Punch + Double Hit you'rll never go Sword Dance again. And do take Full Heal. Still hopes it get another buff for Season 16.
I think versus ANine you need to rush him. You can chase him, he cant 0HKo you with his combo, and you can recover a lot of health while he wait on his cooldowns.
I play focus, muscle, and attack weight and if I want to mix it up I exchange the attack weight for a scope lens. This is so I can flex to scyther incase I feel the match necessitates it. I dont find putting a lot of damage on Scizor to benefit what youre trying to accomplish with the pokemon. Scyther is more burst, Scizor is more about outliving your opponent and killing special attackers.
Noooooo, we don't need more Scizors going into central area!!! I'd really encourage everyone who plays Scizor to try laning with double stacking and the Double Hit move. Gives them the needed mobility and you can really steamroll at Ray occasionally. Anymore buffs to Scizor would be really dangerous, as the current meta is the main issue, but if you had to give it any the Unite could certainly use it and maybe Swords Dance.
I tried running assault vest aeos cookie, atk weight. It went well... because i had a comfey. AV is still better than rocky helmet but the stat lines on those items are still awful. Scizor feels either too limited in motility or like its not bursty enough. Glaceon also seems to have some of the strongest kiting in the game which is disappointing.
I suspect he won't be buffed because he can situationally do very well. He is a pretty effective counter to decidueye, trevenant, dodrio, urshifu and a number of other high level attack based attackers. I agree with your evaluation though if he's goes against a Delphox, Espeon or glaceon you just get chunked and can't every get into a fight and out last the first 5 seconds
Scizor better not get buffed or it will easily get out of control. Heck, once the meta mons get nerfed we might even find out the buffs it got were too much. Double Hit allows it to deal with Attackers incredibly well actually.
@@jakiru8783 I wouldn't entirely agree. He still has fairly limited chase potential so mobile attackers like cinderace can still kite him pretty well unless he takes double hit which seriously reduces his damage output.

I just want the top meta mons to be nerfed before any further buffs are considered. It might already become OP once the meta mons like Urshifu get nerfed with these new buffs Scizor has received.

I personally still love playing Scyther and I love taking double hit and if the enemy is kinda grouped popping my unite, double hit to the back row dual wing beat, pop the ult to pull the clones then hit the wing beat execution dash. Typically I can drop at least one opponent this way and get the wing beat resets to really wreak havoc on the enemies.
swords dance full heal focus band weakness razor claw with attack and hp emblems is what i'm using. its decent, i suppose i think its good enough, scizor is a weird character, its a brawler that wins by outlasting its opponents which is cool its good enough i think

I played some Scizor and he seems fine, it just kind of feels pointless to play him when i could play a tankier pokemon that can survive massive amounts of bursts, with CC and better sustain *Cough Lapras*
I'm having great luck with Scizor right now. 60%+ this season. We climbed 1600 with it. 6 brown, 5 black, 2 purple. We have 150+ hp and +10 attack off emblems. We double stack and weakness policy. Never jungle. Stacks are life get 3 to 4 at any cost and you steam roll.
I honestly think Scizor is bugged rn. Every time I've played them since the new patch, I haven't been able to select my second move, and I've been stuck with Quick Attack
I'm definitely not what I would call an advanced player - Okay/good at best, but I had some fun with this loadout. I ran a couple matches with this end one game with like 134K damage and another at 172K. Feel like I'll be a scizor main once I get better. (And yes, those games were probably against not-great players either haha)
i like to play with scizor in Pokemon unite. Scizor have a nice moves but the only problem with Scizor is his attack.Even if i used attack weight, weakness policy, razor claw ,sword dance with 6 brown emblems the damage of Scizor is not good 😢 so i hope Scizor will get attack buff 😢❤
I really like it but SD just is not as good as Double Hit. The movement helps a lot vs spa mons too and the ult can easily delete a carry at ray which is big. It's nothing incredible but it does the job just fine and is fun imo
I can't for the life of me understand why a pokemon with a debilitating weakness to sp attackers would suck right now. It's not like we are in an overpowered no skill point and click meta...... ohhhh now I get it.

The reason scizor is kinda bad right now is because of slick spoon it gets shredded by the spoon and can't reach those mates that can kill it so easily

Scizor is my main I played 8 games only won 1 game where i had 19 k1lls all but 1 game i got 10+ kills its just really bad at the ray fight, enemy team kites you so hard cuz somehow half the team is either dead or trying to backcap leaving to try to secuencia ray with scizor which is dam near impossible to get kited by their mages
"scizor isnt great" well yea me and my friend did a 165k dmg 125k dmg taken 70k heal scizor game with 29 kills. he was scizor on jg as scizor with me as comfey from the start (yep one lane was solo and it was ranked and also bc i had xp share he gets lvl 5 out of jg anyways) and we run down the enemies the entire game. we just couldnt get killed and we had 0 deaths at the end
Buffs were good nut just not enough though. CD reducton on Scizors is huge. Normally you have time for 3 autos between each cast but with cd it makes it so you only have to do 2 autos until it up again. It lets you do way more punches and heals. I think it's the way to go.
@@Michael-lu7xp it does fine damage focus amp and weight is strong enough and it makes the unite move delete opponents. Plus the amount extra bullet punches more than makes up for not having an extra weakness policy.
I don't think so it's probably the best all-rounder rn if you know how to play it i do 1v1 with zacians and urshifus not to mention 100 k + damage every game
Scizor is kind of a noob stomper right now honestly. He stomps bad players and mons, but is still just a nuisance who simply sticks onto you to the top threats in the meta.
I personally think youre just playing him wrong. Go emblem set 6 🔵, 6 🟤, 6 🟣, 2 🤍 with razor claw, rapid fire scarf, muscle band. Its my personal set. I think youll find him a bit more fun. X Speed for speed coverage.

Honestly slick spoon needs a good nerf then scizor will be great again. Slick spoon should only ignore 10% of sp defense and shouldnt affect wild pokemon.
Attackers intensify means that Scizor can somewhat get in and do stuff with its new Bullet Punch cd. It absolutely requires a full heal, though. Because attackers intensify means a lot of stuns.

It works better against mons that can't kite as hard. When gardening was on top it didn't feel as bad

Please stop using scizor on jungle. It's farming is slow, it isn't exp hungry and there are wayyy bether junglers overall

I usually use scyther vs 3 or more squishy/evasive mons to get teamfight resets/picks. Or swap in scizor if my team needs more frontline or vs tanks as ur not bursting defenders/allrounders.
Yeah I see others in the comments saying the same thing, but I recommend double hit over swords dance.
I don't know why people seem to undervalue double hit on Scizor, but it is leagues better right now, especially given the current meta.
Scizor may not be great still, but it definitely feels manageable, whereas before it felt like playing Scizor was an instant 4v5.

I just got dpne with roughly 20 matches tonight. Most jad scizor and not gonna lie every songle match ot took 2-4 team mates and like a solid minute to kill scizor and in tha ttime frame hed almost wipe us all out.
At least 8-12 matches had scizor and they were all like this. I dont want to say he doesnt need buffed cause my teams were extremely bad with 3/5 dealing 20-30k sometimes. But even on better damage teams it was still 2 v 2 scizor and he just doesnt die.
The way yhet matches felt tonight, it felt like of he did get buffed again, hed basically be zacian basically unkilliable and then dealing way too much damage.
Its my first night playing since his buff so i dont think ive played long enough yet to say eitth more certainty but based off my current experiences

Buff Buff buff content creators once again suggesting thing without thinking just because it feels underpowered. theres another solution without needing to make characters overtuned by nerfing the metas or characters that are still overtuned mainly Zoroark, Urshifu, Zacian and the new broken glaceon
I've noticed that everyone who shits on Sizor is running the inferior move sword dance, not the superior double hit...
I've had a lot of out play scenarios and pulled off wins where it looked very sketchy, but Scizor feels a bit squishey for an All rounder vs 2
With the SP atk mons dominating the meta, any melee mons definitely have a hard time.

Honestly, if you run weight amp razor with full heal you could pick either scizor or scyther. Scyther with a full heal is a decent counter to attackers in general. I think that they could definetly give scizor itself something to help with the special attackers tho.
I think buffs were pretty descent it survives a bit longer now, but I think the range from where Scizor leaps to it's bullet punch should be longer just to make it easier to reach opponents . . .
Double Hit takes care of that problem for me when it comes to reaching opponents (or running 😅)
I feel like this is the only way Scizor could work in the current meta. Just have an early level advantage and maintain it throughout the game.
On Scizor I usually run Attack Weight, Razor Claw and Focus band. Not because it’s the most optimal build for Scizor, but because it works well enough on both Scyther and Scizor that I can swap between the two depending on the enemy team comp. Hopefully draft mode releases soon lol
Scizor skills are easily dodgeable, attack is ok no more buffs.

Scizor's buff may look great but really it doesn't have a place in the meta right now. Sadly, the currently meta is leaning heavily towards special attackers, and Scizor get kited to death by those mons. Maybe if there's a ranked mode where you can pick/ban and/or counter pick opponents but with the bare minimum mirror mode, it's just not recommended to pick it xD.
The meta definitely is not in Scizor's favor. I find Double Hit does catch up to those who would otherwise kite it though.

I think they should buff the SD Build. Slightly increase the dash range on Swords Dance like they have on Double Hit. And maybe slightly increase the percentage of attack increase it gives you.
Jake, once you tried Bullet Punch + Double Hit you'rll never go Sword Dance again.
And do take Full Heal.

I think versus ANine you need to rush him. You can chase him, he cant 0HKo you with his combo, and you can recover a lot of health while he wait on his cooldowns.
I play focus, muscle, and attack weight and if I want to mix it up I exchange the attack weight for a scope lens. This is so I can flex to scyther incase I feel the match necessitates it. I dont find putting a lot of damage on Scizor to benefit what youre trying to accomplish with the pokemon. Scyther is more burst, Scizor is more about outliving your opponent and killing special attackers.
Noooooo, we don't need more Scizors going into central area!!! I'd really encourage everyone who plays Scizor to try laning with double stacking and the Double Hit move. Gives them the needed mobility and you can really steamroll at Ray occasionally. Anymore buffs to Scizor would be really dangerous, as the current meta is the main issue, but if you had to give it any the Unite could certainly use it and maybe Swords Dance.
I tried running assault vest aeos cookie, atk weight. It went well... because i had a comfey. AV is still better than rocky helmet but the stat lines on those items are still awful. Scizor feels either too limited in motility or like its not bursty enough. Glaceon also seems to have some of the strongest kiting in the game which is disappointing.

I suspect he won't be buffed because he can situationally do very well. He is a pretty effective counter to decidueye, trevenant, dodrio, urshifu and a number of other high level attack based attackers. I agree with your evaluation though if he's goes against a Delphox, Espeon or glaceon you just get chunked and can't every get into a fight and out last the first 5 seconds
Scizor better not get buffed or it will easily get out of control. Heck, once the meta mons get nerfed we might even find out the buffs it got were too much. Double Hit allows it to deal with Attackers incredibly well actually.
@@jakiru8783 I wouldn't entirely agree. He still has fairly limited chase potential so mobile attackers like cinderace can still kite him pretty well unless he takes double hit which seriously reduces his damage output.
@@davidpritchett855 If anything gets buffed I think Swords Dance and the Unite are reasonable but Double Hit totally is worth taking in certain matchups like against the mentioned Attackers. I just want the top meta mons to be nerfed before any further buffs are considered. It might already become OP once the meta mons like Urshifu get nerfed with these new buffs Scizor has received.

I personally still love playing Scyther and I love taking double hit and if the enemy is kinda grouped popping my unite, double hit to the back row dual wing beat, pop the ult to pull the clones then hit the wing beat execution dash. Typically I can drop at least one opponent this way and get the wing beat resets to really wreak havoc on the enemies.

The buffs were not enough, but Scizor is way better than he has been. I win pretty often with him.
I don't know, I've had a lot of wins recently as Scizzor. Even had a game with over 155k damage yesterday.
I played some Scizor and he seems fine, it just kind of feels pointless to play him when i could play a tankier pokemon that can survive massive amounts of bursts, with CC and better sustain

I'm having great luck with Scizor right now. 60%+ this season. We climbed 1600 with it. 6 brown, 5 black, 2 purple. We have 150+ hp and +10 attack off emblems. We double stack and weakness policy. Never jungle. Stacks are life get 3 to 4 at any cost and you steam roll.
Swords dance is the way to go. Item doesn't matter. Use what you are comfortable with.
I honestly think Scizor is bugged rn. Every time I've played them since the new patch, I haven't been able to select my second move, and I've been stuck with Quick Attack

I'm definitely not what I would call an advanced player - Okay/good at best, but I had some fun with this loadout. I ran a couple matches with this end one game with like 134K damage and another at 172K. Feel like I'll be a scizor main once I get better. (And yes, those games were probably against not-great players either haha)
I’ve been trying so hard to use Scizor and it just doesn’t work out 80% of the time.
Try Double Hit Attack 1->Bullet Punch->Double Hit Attack. It gives you crazy burst and the reset is clutch af ✂️🦂👊

I really like it but SD just is not as good as Double Hit. The movement helps a lot vs spa mons too and the ult can easily delete a carry at ray which is big. It's nothing incredible but it does the job just fine and is fun imo
I can't for the life of me understand why a pokemon with a debilitating weakness to sp attackers would suck right now. It's not like we are in an overpowered no skill point and click meta...... ohhhh now I get it.

Scizor is my main I played 8 games only won 1 game where i had 19 k1lls all but 1 game i got 10+ kills its just really bad at the ray fight, enemy team kites you so hard cuz somehow half the team is either dead or trying to backcap leaving to try to secuencia ray with scizor which is dam near impossible to get kited by their mages
"scizor isnt great" well yea me and my friend did a 165k dmg 125k dmg taken 70k heal scizor game with 29 kills. he was scizor on jg as scizor with me as comfey from the start (yep one lane was solo and it was ranked and also bc i had xp share he gets lvl 5 out of jg anyways) and we run down the enemies the entire game. we just couldnt get killed and we had 0 deaths at the end
ALL they gotta do is say "This raises Scizor's Def AND SpDef" thats it! Thats all they need to do. I have no complaints about Scizor asides from that
Scizor is fine if:
1. Zacian gets nerfed
2. Glaceon gets nerfed
3. CC gets nerfed on All-Rounders and Attackers

Buffs were good nut just not enough though.
CD reducton on Scizors is huge. Normally you have time for 3 autos between each cast but with cd it makes it so you only have to do 2 autos until it up again.
It lets you do way more punches and heals. I think it's the way to go.
It does no damage so you just stay alive long enough to get flanked and die
@@Michael-lu7xp it does fine damage focus amp and weight is strong enough and it makes the unite move delete opponents. Plus the amount extra bullet punches more than makes up for not having an extra weakness policy.

Attackers intensify means that Scizor can somewhat get in and do stuff with its new Bullet Punch cd. It absolutely requires a full heal, though. Because attackers intensify means a lot of stuns.
