    Good video. I had to change out on an E350 passenger. A bit of a task removing 25 year old screws, but got it done.

    Just bought a 2001 E350 Super Duty for road trips and it needs some love. Glad I also discovered your channel! Great stuff, thanks so much for making these kind of repairs very accessible!

    Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to solve a problem related to my bright lights. Liked and Subscribed.

    It’s a couple years old but I’ve saved it over and over because I have a Ford E4 50 and I needed to change the switch and this helped tremendously. The only problem I had was actually two problems one was hitting that spring just right to be able to pull the switch you know the switch out and the second was wow my bus remained on it kill the battery so I’m charging it up right now but thank you so very much this was a great video and so easy to follow thank you

    Thanks. Didn’t realize how simple it was. I was able to change it on my 2006 E350.

    Thank you for the good advice. Turn signal switch R&R complete.
    Let me add a couple of tools to take along (I did the change-out for the church's van in the parking lot):. inspection mirror; flashlight; and a 3/16" ?? open end long handle wrench or little crescent wrench;; and penetrating oil for the tilt-wheel control lever threads.
    Like your experience in the video, the tilt-wheel control lever was, for me, impossible to remove. I had an 8" Klein crescent wrench, but its jaws were too wide to fit onto the flats on the tilt-wheel control lever shaft. The shaft refused to turn with a pliers. I didn't have a caliper with me, but the flatted area on the shaft looked to be 3/16". I used a long Torx T-20 bit on a 1/4" hex magnetic bit screw driver to reach in with the lower plastic shroud still in place to remove and replace the Torx screws.
    Thanks again for the time-saving and confidence-inspiring advice.

    Thanks for the video! I never would have figured it out on my own. My 1996 Fleetwood Montara had one screw that you didn't mention (probably didn't have) that was an SOB to get out. It held the top and bottom housings together all the way at the back on the righthand side. other than that and my lock cylinder being more corroded than yours (but you did warn me about that) everything went smoothly.

    Thank you so much for this video. It helped so much and very detailed but no rambling and such. I ordered the new turn sig switch for my rig and the new one is not matching up with that upper plug. It appears that the one I need is the same new one that you put in. Are you able to tell me what part number you ordered?

    Hey great video and I just want to see do you know if the brake lights run through the switch? on my motorhome I have no turn signals front or back and no brake light or hazards. 1996 e350

    • @thejungleexplorer
      @thejungleexplorer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. No, the brake light does not run through the multifunction switch. The brakes, turn signals , and hazard light are all controlled by different switches. I would suspect that you have some bad fuses.

    Why did you replace it? I'm having an issue with a rapid blinker, I'm guessing it the switch.

    • @thejungleexplorer
      @thejungleexplorer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A rapidly blinking turn signal light is a code that you have a bad bulb, not that your switch is bad. Check for a bad bulb. That is the issue you are having.

    Got this weird thing where there is some sort of short in the wiper portion of the switch. I have an ABS light on my dash and when I mess with the wipers, it causes the light to go out. So I don't know if there is an actual problem with the ABS or if it's because of a short in the switch! So I'm changing the switch before I try to tackle the ABS module.

    Why did you have to replace yours? My wipers won’t turn off, and I wonder if the switch is the problem

    • @thejungleexplorer
      @thejungleexplorer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't remember why I had to replace it. It was a long time ago and the vehicle was not mine. I was just doing the repair to help out an elderly gentleman.
      Wipers not turning off could very well be this part at fault.

    The turn signal does not self-cancel after making a turn in a 1998 E650 van. Is this switch likely the cause or some dog or cog on the inside of the steering column or wheel?

    • @thejungleexplorer
      @thejungleexplorer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess that it would be the signal switch that is the cause. It is the most likely thing to go out.

    • @jpcallan97225
      @jpcallan97225 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thejungleexplorer The turn signal self-cancel feature is in fact part of this switch.

    • @jpcallan97225
      @jpcallan97225 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thejungleexplorer My R&R repair only lasted about two months and the failure to cancel returned. It turned out the trouble was a dark plastic plate w/ cam, mounted between the turn signal switch and the steering wheel with plastic clips, had slipped loose. The clips had worked loose and the plate moved toward the steering to where the cam barely reach the little white probe in the turn signal switch. Prying with two screw drivers moved the plate back to where it latched nearer the turn signal switch. There was never anything actually wrong with the turn signal switch... subtle problem

      Everything wears out eventually, and this is one of the most high use switches in a vehicle.
