- The Winnipeg Blue Bombers entered the 111th Grey Cup as heavy favourites, but in the end the Toronto Argonauts had other ideas. Catch all the highlights from the 2024 Grey Cup!

Something needs to change in Toronto, this team and this game needs way more recognition.
I think the CFL should merge with the AFL in the future. Would be good for both leagues, and it would become more like Hockey, basketball and baseball having mix Canadian and US teams.
Putting on the same time as Chiefs vs Buffalo was beyond dumb. I picked the Bills game, like most ppl.
@@TheJayWar 53,300 people attended though... I was surrounded by Winnipeg fans in my section and Argos fans in the next section over. We had BC lions jerseys on and no one batted an eye, Anyone from the 9 teams can be fans of there own teams and mingle together is something you will never ever see in the NFL. Plus it would of been even worse if they didn't move the Canucks game from 5:00pm start to 7PM start and they didn't show this but there was a Streaker that ran on the Field at the 5 min mark of the 4th quarter and there was Pigeon flying around inside the stadium that nearly got Randy mossed by a Punt. We called it the Argos Rally bird

Edit: Oh wow. The Grey Cup game viewership in Toronto, home of the team that won the Grey Cup, was 375,000 on CTV Toronto. A regular season NFL game with Chiefs vs Bills had 303,000 viewers. NFL dominates CFL in Canada. Especially in Ontario. I have never heard of anyone saying they are going to a Grey Cup party.
@@TheJayWar probably because NFL is a bigger market and Toronto has the NHL, PWHL, NBA ect the CFL is going to get overshadowed by all of that. But I Like NFL myself (Go Seahawks!) but I Like the CFL because it's different from the NFL personally not everyone likes the CFL and that's ok.

Not! All of Toronto's sports franchises are over-rated and underachieving, especially the Leafs. You need to understand that all the attention is put on Toronto sports teams because the city is the main hub of all Canada. Hardly anyone takes into account the fact that other Canadian cities have great sports teams, especially in hockey and lacrosse. I'm a big fan of both of these sports. The problem with Toronto is that win or lose, they are still given overwhelming support just because Toronto is the main hub in Canada. Toronto is Canada's largest city, but their sports are over-rated at best. Anyway, that's just my scoop.

10 points? That's pretty big. With Arbuckle an unknown under pressure I guess it sort of made sense. He had a few rough moments but all in all he was pretty amazing. The defence came out strong which made the difference I think.

Last time the Argonauts won the Grey Cup, about a thousand people showed up to their victory party in Toronto. They deserve so much more support and recognition in TO; they've been around since 1873. Look at how much support other CFL teams get in their respective markets, like the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and especially the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
It's because we have the Leafs and The Raptors and The Jay's that's tough competition

I totally agree. It's a team thats bringing the cup back home again in 3 years. They deserve better support. What are the Raptors this season 2-11 ??? Hard to compare it to the NBA , NHL or MLB but still. Go argos

Congratulations to every fan of the Argonauts in Toronto and anywhere in Canada with some people from Detroit and Buffalo in the USA are also cheering for the win for 2 NFL games from Buffalo and Detroit had also won.
Buffalo took control of KC. That was huge. And of course Detroit had a nice practice day.
Congrats to both of their fans. A city of 7 million and can't fill a 30K seat stadium.

I am a huge bomber fan, but even by the second quarter, I saw the writing on the wall. Toronto was the better team overall. I didn't feel that the bombers were in it at all in the second half. They couldn't move the ball, and their secondary got plucked by Arbuckle. I hate to say it because he has done well, and he's a great guy, but Collaros got seriously outplayed by a backup quarterback. Meanwhile Wilson looked like a deer in the headlights.
I would have loved to have said otherwise but it's my thoughts.

@@SirManfly Ok man that's great. I always think of my city as disliked and hence the team, so I definitely enjoyed the support. By the way, I was working on tour and loved Edmonton. We had a party with the workers in the same field and it was wild and hilarious. Such great people.

Last season the Argos finished with the best record in CFL history and were embarrassed by Montreal.
This year not only did we make it back to the Grey Cup, but won it as underdogs. Now we have as many titles as Winnipeg in the last 5 years. I’m happy for Arbuckle as well, he had to live up to Kelly and did it incredibly. Proud of you boys, always nice to see a Toronto team winning anything.
Now all you need is a fanbase.
Argos peaking at the right time, a constant characteristic of the CFL, which makes it the best football anywhere ... and Arbuckle, words nearly inadequate to define him ... most deserving MVP stepping into a massive pressure role and excelling ... sadly for Winnipeg probably a huge rebuild looms but in the CFL very little is certain ... an aged idiom - if a favorite is a double digit one, leave it - lol !!!

As a neutral I think Canadian football looks like a much better version of the game than the American version.
That's for sure. Rules are more fun and there're more chances to score in the last 3 minutes of each half.
Obviously the best players are going to go where the money is. As someone who enjoys both brands of football, killing the clock is much harder to do in the CFL.

Sad the Argos don't get the support they should. City is spoiled with higher profile leagues operating with teams outside of Canada.
19 wins out of 25 attempts is a great accomplishment compared to other teams in the city who get to the final and win. More than all the others combined (not including the Rock).
- Leafs are 13 for 22.
- Rock are 6 for 9 (out of Hamilton and lower profile, but shown for completeness)
- Jays are 2 for 2.
- Raptors are 1 for 1.
- TFC are 1 for 3.
As someone that lives in Toronto I think the Argos should move to London Ontario for their own good. People in Toronto are just waiting for the NFL and won’t support them in big numbers.

Canadian football is great. We don't have the prestige or money the NFL has but the games are always well contested, back and forth to the end full of great plays, throws and catches. The NFL relies too much on the one yard plays that waste downs imho.
Agreed. CFL is packed to the brim with action. That's why it took me watching just ONE CFL game to become a huge fan of the league.
NFL is boring because the field is too small, too many downs - 4 instead of 3, and you can only have 1 man in motion

I was talking about not underestimating Toronto when they lost Chad Kelly. They had some aces up their sleeves that they used to win the Grey Cup. 19th total and 9th in CFL Era.
Winnipeg looked so lost for some reason. It's like Toronto had answers for everything that Winnipeg had and Toronto had something that Winnipeg just couldn't figure out.
A lot of incomplete passes that really should have been caught, for starters.

Actually Canadian Football field isn't that bigger than a soccer field. The standard size of soccer pitch set by most soccer teams is 115 by 74 yards. Canadian Football field is 150 by 65 yards (that includes 20 yards deep end zones). Standard soccer field is 87.3% of the size of Canadian Football Field.
