American viewer here, and I could not be happier that CFL+ is free to watch. Been watching since late August so this was my first Grey Cup, and I have no regrets of watching it. Looking forward to next season, such a great league.
They do not even show the CFL games here in Canada anymore. You must subscribe to cable TV and pay to see your own channels? Amongst the free channels in my city of Montreal, one of the local English-speaking ones show regular season NFL games instead of the Canadian Grey Cup. For shame. Both the NFL and CFL are excellent. They have different rules. So much the better. It makes things more interesting.
I'm glad that Americans were able to watch and enjoy our CFL Grey Cup championship games. Meanwhile, TSN have made sure that our national CFL games are BLOCKED from viewership all across Canada. -so much for capitalism being good for all eh.?

My brother and I both had on our Ben Cahoon jerseys at our first Grey Cup game. Nosebleed seats but good enough. I'm still looking to buy a Calvillo. Greatest quarterback ever. But I love Fajardo!
This team didn't even have an owner or budget at the start of the season to sign free agents. They lost Eugene Lewis, their best receiver, and yet, Danny still managed to change the team dynamics by picking up Sankey and Lemon. They were neglected and labeled to finish last in the league. Watching these highlights, the incredible hits and plays in this game were surreal! Great job boys, and congratulations!
As a Canadian living in California, I always try to watch the Grey Cup. I didn't get to see it this year. Glad I saw the highlights. Great game! But did anyone else notice how many monstrous hits there were in this game? It seemed like every other play someone was getting lit up. Great football Canada!!
You guys north of the 49th play some damn good metric football up there. Congrats Montreal, and what a game! I love how wide open the Canadian game is compared to ours.
No Grey Cup in 13 years. No 11+ wins in a season in 11. Their owner died and the team went into administration, completely missing out on free agency. They entered 2023 with a roster of 21 year olds, aging vets, and Cody Fajardo, who was widely considered to be on his last chance in the league. They were +1100 to make the Grey Cup and a near unanimous choice for the wooden spoon. This is the greatest story in sports.
This was my first season watching the CFL in almost 20 years. It was a special season. Congrats to the Allouttes on winning the Grey Cup 🏆!!! I honestly didn't give the Allouttes a snowballs chance in hell of winning it. I was like ok they beat the best regular season team, so no way they beat a team playing in the last 4 Grey Cups. But absolutely gritty performance at the end of the season into the playoffs. The team that peaks last usually peaks best. Congrats Montreal 👏👏👏

American here, a few things I found interesting is that you allow 12 players on the field at a time, running starts for the receivers, and that field is huge!!

There's just enough differences in the Canadian game to make it interesting for us Americans to learn. There were more spectacular catches in that one game than in a whole weekend of NFL highlights!

That was definitely an AWESOME championship game from my beloved CFL, greetings from Hungry Valley ranch and a fan from birth of CFL, no matter who is really playing, game is great snd host cities are very awesome as it's always a good time! Myself a BC Lions fan for life but Montreal has always been my second pick, since the 80's... like last years game, spectactular I try to watch ALL CFL games... love it
Guy in Argo jersey behind us congratulated my brother and me (in Alouette gear) at the end of the game. A real good sport. Back to the game. Terrible roughing call on Collaros by Montreal early. Could have made the difference. Montreal showed real grit to come back. Way to go, Als. (My first Grey Cup game). Final observation. A lot of Tiger Cat outfits. More than for any other team. I must say, they do support the CFL.
Maaan, I always forget about the CFL until after the season. (My summers and fall are consumed by MLB). I need to make it a point next year to watch more games. They’re so electric and fun refresh from the NFL.
We had a group of 11 people watching this game, and I’ve heard fewer sounds louder than my house when the Alouettes scored the game winner. We are all Riders fans so we were so excited to see the Bombers drop a 2nd straight Cup

What an incredible game! As much as it hurts to fall short of a dynasty, I've gotta hand it to the Als, they came ready to play tonight with stellar defense and made us pay for our mistakes with the football. The Bombers once again choke on the biggest stage and didn't deserve this one. Als earned every bit of this gritty win. Congrats MTL! We'll get em next year.
I'm not a CFL or NFL football fan, but I must say that I really like the colors of the uniform and the stylized bird on the helmet of the Montreal Alouettes. It reminds me of superhero costumes.
Americans should be aware that most of these players are Americans. The rules are 'Canadian' and they have to have a number of Canadian players on each team. It's always interesting to see which colleges they came from in the States and the success that they had there. When you see a guy like Shaun Lemon, who has played on 8 of the 9 CFL teams, out there being a leader and having success himself, it just adds to the success of what this team accomplished.
What a great game! The Grey Cup rarely disappoints. I have watched the last 5 and everyone has been a thrilling matchup. Wish this one was on TV here in the States. Silly it was only on CFL+.
Im American and never gave the cfl a chance and always made jokes but the more I watch highlights the more im becoming a fan love the fast pace passing attack just don’t really understand the rules Definitely gonna be watching next year , these guys in the cfl are seriously underrated talent wise ppl who don’t make it in the NFL think that the CFL is gonna be a cakewalk but get a reality check real quick 😂
If you're curious. Chad Johnson (Chad Ochocinco) played in CFL after 10+ years in NFL and he was humbled almost immediately and didn't play much at all for Alouettes (and didn't play at all in 2015 season as he was suspended for not reporting to a mandatory training camp before the season). If you watch his interviews about CFL, he admitted that he was wrong in thinking that it would be an easy job for him. CFL isn't that bad of a league... different rules, for sure. By the way, the rules: 3 downs, 12 players on each side of the field, 20 seconds play clock, waggle (forward movement of wide receivers and slot backs before the snap, maximum of 4 players can move towards the line of scrimmage before the snap), no fair catches ("no yards" rule is kind of CFL answer to "fair catch", players must give receiver five yards halo of free space to catch the ball (but there're also onside punts in CFL, every player who is behind the punter when the ball is kicked (and the punter himself) can recover the ball, so yeah...), no touchbacks (single point is given to the kicking team if the ball leaves the field in the end zone or if the ball is downed in the end zone no matter what type of kick happened, be that kick-off, punt or a missed field goal). That's why in CFL there're players in the end zone on the field goals and extra points, you can return the ball if it doesn't go out of bounds and misses the goal. There's also a rule that every CFL team must have at least 21 national players in the roster and must start at least 8 national players every game (national player is either born and raised in Canada or has Canadian Citizenship and was born outside of Canada), so yeah, going to CFL isn't that easy for an american player. If you're not from Canada or USA though, you will be a Global Player in CFL, every CFL team must have at least one Global player in their roster. And usually global players are kickers/punters (like Australian punter Joseph Zema, who won Grey Cup with Alouettes). I guess... that's enough of information for now.
@@Tyreseneilli It's not an easy task to popularize something that doesn't have a spot on TV. CFL never had a big TV contract in USA... mostly because there's NFL that is the best gridiron league in the world. But I agree that CFL should be more popular that it already is. I'm all for it.
For me this is one of the best season stories... Watching them out since the regular season on how Cody would work out.. how they improved over time and eventually knocking out the two best season teams to get this Grey Cup win... They deserved this so much after all those doubt and hate season long... Congratulations Montreal 👏👏 fought real hard till the end

What an end to an incredible season... I would have never bet a nickel on Montreal but they decided to get flying at the best time !
What an incredible game! As much as it hurts to fall short of a dynasty, I've gotta hand it to the Als, they came ready to play tonight with stellar defense and made us pay for our mistakes with the football. The Bombers once again choke on the biggest stage and didn't deserve this one. Als earned every bit of this gritty win. Congrats MTL! We'll get em next year.

I'm not a CFL or NFL football fan, but I must say that I really like the colors of the uniform and the stylized bird on the helmet of the Montreal Alouettes. It reminds me of superhero costumes.

Americans should be aware that most of these players are Americans. The rules are 'Canadian' and they have to have a number of Canadian players on each team.
It's always interesting to see which colleges they came from in the States and the success that they had there. When you see a guy like Shaun Lemon, who has played on 8 of the 9 CFL teams, out there being a leader and having success himself, it just adds to the success of what this team accomplished.
Much better than any NFL game period.

What a great game! The Grey Cup rarely disappoints. I have watched the last 5 and everyone has been a thrilling matchup. Wish this one was on TV here in the States. Silly it was only on CFL+.

Im American and never gave the cfl a chance and always made jokes but the more I watch highlights the more im becoming a fan love the fast pace passing attack just don’t really understand the rules
Definitely gonna be watching next year , these guys in the cfl are seriously underrated talent wise ppl who don’t make it in the NFL think that the CFL is gonna be a cakewalk but get a reality check real quick 😂
If you're curious. Chad Johnson (Chad Ochocinco) played in CFL after 10+ years in NFL and he was humbled almost immediately and didn't play much at all for Alouettes (and didn't play at all in 2015 season as he was suspended for not reporting to a mandatory training camp before the season). If you watch his interviews about CFL, he admitted that he was wrong in thinking that it would be an easy job for him. CFL isn't that bad of a league... different rules, for sure.
By the way, the rules: 3 downs, 12 players on each side of the field, 20 seconds play clock, waggle (forward movement of wide receivers and slot backs before the snap, maximum of 4 players can move towards the line of scrimmage before the snap), no fair catches ("no yards" rule is kind of CFL answer to "fair catch", players must give receiver five yards halo of free space to catch the ball (but there're also onside punts in CFL, every player who is behind the punter when the ball is kicked (and the punter himself) can recover the ball, so yeah...), no touchbacks (single point is given to the kicking team if the ball leaves the field in the end zone or if the ball is downed in the end zone no matter what type of kick happened, be that kick-off, punt or a missed field goal). That's why in CFL there're players in the end zone on the field goals and extra points, you can return the ball if it doesn't go out of bounds and misses the goal.
There's also a rule that every CFL team must have at least 21 national players in the roster and must start at least 8 national players every game (national player is either born and raised in Canada or has Canadian Citizenship and was born outside of Canada), so yeah, going to CFL isn't that easy for an american player. If you're not from Canada or USA though, you will be a Global Player in CFL, every CFL team must have at least one Global player in their roster. And usually global players are kickers/punters (like Australian punter Joseph Zema, who won Grey Cup with Alouettes).
I guess... that's enough of information for now.

@@Tyreseneilli It's not an easy task to popularize something that doesn't have a spot on TV. CFL never had a big TV contract in USA... mostly because there's NFL that is the best gridiron league in the world.
But I agree that CFL should be more popular that it already is. I'm all for it.

For me this is one of the best season stories... Watching them out since the regular season on how Cody would work out.. how they improved over time and eventually knocking out the two best season teams to get this Grey Cup win... They deserved this so much after all those doubt and hate season long... Congratulations Montreal 👏👏 fought real hard till the end
