I just spent two weeks in Nigeria (first time traveling outside of the US) everyone was surprised that I seemed so at ease and unsurprised from keke rides to navigating the market. i said “Mo prepared me for what I could expect here”. I will be going back again soon. Love your vloggy vlogs ❤
Commenting from Vietnam… though we’re living really far away but what you’re showing in your city is really familiar to us here :) from the layout of those rented apartments, common furnitures, floorings, windows, how you cook on a gas cylinder, to the skincare products, plastic containers, and fruit diversity 😂 everything is so look alike 😊❤
Morenikeji, you don’t know how therapeutic your vlogs are. I was just crying and going through some midnight thoughts then I decided to check TH-cam and lo and behold your vlog came in first and I immediately felt better. Thank you so much❤❤❤❤ please don’t keep us waiting this long again. Your videos are healing
Hi Mo! I know it's not always easy living alone, but I hope knowing you have 67,000+ following along, it helps when things are not going your way...thanks for sharing, you've made my day as you always do...
Hi Mo your videos has always been so refreshing for and it lowkey changed my thoughts of life in Nigeria 😅 Im half Nigerian and half South African currently living in the Uk , i never wanted to go to Nigeria because i thought there would be nothing for me to do as an introvert, but you proved me wrong and in so excited to go to Nigeria in December ❤
Hi, I recognize some of your symptoms and have Hashimoto (with a normall TSH level because my thyroid is still working but being "attacked"). Ask your doctor to not only check your TSH level, but also the antibodies against TPO and TG (thyreoglobuline). Is your iron levels in range but on the low side? Have him/her also check vit B12 and vit. D, and your cholesterol (will likely be high if endocrine/hormonal issues like Hashimoto are present, esp. when relatively young like yourself). Hashimoto is a full system autoimmune disorder, it affects more than just the thyroid but a lot can be improved with changing what you eat and how. If you've had hormonal imbalances in the past like irregular periods, and "simulated pregnancy" with tender breasts and feeling nauseous/like puking, it is worth looking into. Especially if you also have a pattern of diarrhea/constipation, hair loss (along with the headache and fatigue you're describing). Keep a diary of what you eat and how you feel in the hours after. If it's Hashimoto, you can probably not tolerate gluten very well. Gluten contains a proteine called Gliadin, that in structure is similar to TPO (this is called molecular mimicry). If you have antibodies against TPO, you're sensitive to gluten. Gluten would then make your thyroid problem worse (but like me, you would also end up with Low B12 and at some point can't eat gluten without getting diarrhea). I looked into a study that said thyroid problems are common in the African continent, but treatment is not always adequate. You can also test if changing your diet to the following improves your symptoms: no more gluten (no pasta's, bread). You can use corn flour to make little "gnocchi" for a pasta like experience (if any glutenfree products are for sale I expect they are costly, and you have a lot of alternatives you can make yourself cheaper). Make the portions of starch per meal (sweet potato, rice, plantain, cassava/tapioca, yam) 30-50% smaller than you were used to and increase the amount of vegetables with 50% (can you add more leafy greens?), and perhaps more (10-20%) protein to be less hungry (I watched a few of your videos and what you eatO:)). You can also eat millet, fonio, maize (with measure), tigernut and sorghum. No more sugar, no more coffee, no more frizzy drink. No dairy products (no cow milk). You can have green tea or herbal teas. Also if licorice root is available, sometimes you can sweeten your tea with that (best before noon only). Fermented dairy products are slightly better tolerated but probably still an allergen, just as eggs (unfortunately, but have them every now and then). If you have no other option, you also need get calcium in so eat an unsweetened full-fat joghurt every now and then. Goat milk or other products are probably better tolerated. Are there any classical fermented foods in Nigeria? This will help your gut (update: I googled, there are many fermented foods:)). You can make your own icetea maybe, or nice drinks from ripe mango with coconut milk (every now and then). Use cinnamon and/or carob powder for sweetness in stuff/cakes you like to add sweetness to. For snacks, you can eat nuts and fruits (most fruits have slow-release sugar, the blue berries you eat are great) or make something with a ripe avocado base (and carob/cocoa powder and a piece of ripe mango, blended in your mixer like its a mousse). You can fry your own plantain chips and add salt, instead of store-bought processed potato chips. You can make bread from squashed fried plantain, or pancakes/ wraps or buns from tigernut/cassava flour (or mixes of that with ground plantain). There are so called AIP recipes online you can tweak to fit local available products (as long as it's gluten-free). Would advise to substitute eggs with applesauce. Just try that for a month. It is especially useful to compare a diary. I hope you get some answers and that this was helpful. P.s. the above forbidden foods: just try to go cold turkey for a month. If you feel much better, simply reduce them to a minimum. Sometimes you can have a guilty pleasure, or you're visiting somewhere and its impractical. If you see improvement though, I advice to keep that diet pattern as much as possible:).
I have a secret tip, I like to grab extra plastic bags that you used to put your vegetables in and I use them as garbage bags for small things or for other uses. These bags come in handy and are free which I keep on the side at home.
Another great vlog as always. Moving to a "new" apartment, location, or area is always stressful and fills one with anxiety. You seem to have a strong spiritual faith, please try to rely on that. God will show the right path for you. I'm also making a move next year, over half the country away to be closer to my son. I've traveled widely and relocated numerous times in my life, yet I'm filled with fear and anxiety over it. So, I pray and try to put my life and future into God's hands, and I feel I'll be alright no matter what happens. I'm sure you will too. And again, thank you for inviting us in for a few days of your life.
I'm smiling again! I love spending the day with you in this form. You put them together in such a nice way. You leave me feeling very peaceful. Thank you!
Thanks! A new subbie! I really enjoyed your videos. As a fellow Nigerian, you get me to see a new refreshing outlook on life. Weldone Mo ❤ Love from New Jersey!
I’m currently watching your videos during breaks between my assignment time chunks. A very nice reward for making myself do my assignment, I must say.🤭
Yay Mo! Here, for an apartment, for me: must be pet-friendly (I have a cat I adore), must be close to transit, not on ground floor, here we are lucky and don't have to worry about water and electricity but of course we do pay for it. Storage is important. We don't have built-ins as a rule here in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We have closets and sometimes in-suite/apartment storage room that usually has your hot water heater inside (which we pay for too). A laundromat close by is a must! Good neighbours, too. Here the average rent now for a one bedroom apartment is 2000CAD/month! A one-room with kitchen and bathroom can be close to that price. I am lucky, I live in a housing cooperative, where we share in the maintenance and upkeep, and pay for a share of the cooperative, which is held in trust until we leave. It is an alternative to owning a home - we all basically share the mortgage. My housing charge for a 600 square foot apartment is 1100/month CAD. Approximately half my income monthly. This is a very expensive city to live in! But we are also getting reliable public transit, clean water, lots of electricity, health care, democratic politics, a thriving arts scene, and lots of different markets and sources for food etc. Thank you so much for sharing your life and experiences with us! I love it when I see one of your videos pop up! All the best to you!🥰

Your aesthetic is so pretty and I love your cooking. I rarely have motivation to cook if I am alone, I would survive on snacks if I didn't have my kids. 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed your video once again! I find it sublime and so relaxing. I also really enjoy the African Praise on the TV screen at church, its really uplifting. Thanks again for another great Vlog! 🌹
I’m really sorry about your flat! I live in a big city, had to move many times and can completely relate to the pain 😔 Hope you stumble upon a suitable one very soon 🙏🏻 (I might be too picky in cooking, but if you wait for the water to boil before putting the pasta in it, you’ll have less soggy and crumbly penne ☺️ - also boiling it for less time)
@@m_o_renikejitaiwothe price in Germany for the Ritter Sport chocolate is not 5000 (2,70 euro) Naira but about 3000 Naira(1,65 euro). Sometimes it's on sale for half that price. I don't eat it often, but sometimes. I prefer more one that has a coconut milk base but they're hard to find ( a bit more healthy). You can make a nice bounty with banana, coconut and chocolate glaze.

We do miss you as well. Always glad to spend some time with you. Hope you can find an apartment that you find suitable. I totally understand the anxiety of searching for a new place. I personally dread the next time I will have to move. There is no way I will find a place the same size near the same price I pay. Loved the new recipes and spending the time with you so until next time take care of yourself.
Obsessed with your videos. When there is no new one I rewatch the old ones over and over. Stream it to my TV 😅 May God continue to bless and keep you. Praying that you receive all your life goals. Continue to be a good person and put God in the center of everything ❤ congratulations also on your channel growth. It’s only up from here sis. 🎉😊
We have completely different lives but I love your videos SO as I’m also an introvert and your videos remind me to take care of myself and the things I can kinda control…my living space. Thank you. Take care & blessings. Nicole-Elizabeth
It's so nice to see you. A new apartment is exciting. After all these years one of the best loved things about my house is that I can easily walk to a grocery and drugstore. You have treat days? But you are a student, and should be treated daily, you have to keep your energy and spirit up.
Hello Mo! Thank you so much for posting your videos. I really enjoy watching them. The food you cook seems amazing. I'm curious to try it out. I hope you find a nice apartment soon. Good job taking care of your health and leaving the moldy place. I hope you feel better soon. Greetings from Germany
I really like your videos. I would love to see a wardrobe tour please, wardrobe tours are always popular. And a show of all your beauty and perfumes they look like lovely bottles. Prices going up a lot where I live too. Looks like you cook nice healthy home made meals - I like cooking rice dishes too at home.
Glad your back. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Nice to see your looking for a new place. That water issue and now mold must be frustrating. Keep looking you will find something affordable and better ❤
I had no idea you had a vlog channel Mo. Thank you for inviting us into your everyday routine hun! Miss your reaction video's but I'm glad to see you here as well. 💜💜
Your vlogs are so therapeutic Mo. I haven't been feeling well all day and l have to just settle for a plate of golden morn and start watching the chills and serenity all through
Love frozen grapes! The first apartment looked quite nice, tho still under construction...But, if it is double the cost, that is a tough decision to make :/ Depends on if you think you can afford it, or if it would push you out of your budget. And, if your current place really is making you sick, I think it would be worth the move - esp for cleaner water and more reliable electricity.
Omo, I'm glad to catch your newest video so early I was feeling quite displaced through the day and decided to watch your vlogs as a way to free my mind from all the overthinking. I've watched about 3 now And lo and behold, like play like play i saw your newest video uploaded an hr ago. I was watching some of my favorite music reaction videos you made and I love the expressive reactions and true heart you displayed so unselfishly for us. You are so loved and I miss the music but I understand that we are all busy getting on with life, I respect that and love the unselfish way you share you life. I never want to lose you so keep it up. Much love and respect from the other side of the world. I wish you all happiness!
Enjoyed watching this, loved the little touches you have in your home of unique coasters, cutting boards, etc ❤, sending you lots of love from South Africa 😊

Always on your channel and TikTok I have downloaded all your vlogs, and rewatched them thousands of time, they don’t get old to me. I’m happy 😃 you posted and made my night Mo ❤
Oh Mo! Your Penne Pasta recipe made me salivate. Was calculating in my head how much it'll take to recreate that recipe. Omo, let me just swallow my saliva in peace and keep moving.
We Indians make ' upma' from samolina. Saute chopped vegetables and then add water and then samolina. Salt as per taste and some spices if you wish to add. You can eat it with some sauce of your choice. Do try it someday.

You can also test if changing your diet to the following improves your symptoms:
no more gluten (no pasta's, bread). You can use corn flour to make little "gnocchi" for a pasta like experience (if any glutenfree products are for sale I expect they are costly, and you have a lot of alternatives you can make yourself cheaper).

OMG I came on here just in time! As a fellow Content creator/TH-camr, I enjoy your contents quite a lot Mo 😇
Yay! Thank you🥰
Welldone too👏🩷
It's so nice to see you. A new apartment is exciting. After all these years one of the best loved things about my house is that I can easily walk to a grocery and drugstore. You have treat days? But you are a student, and should be treated daily, you have to keep your energy and spirit up.
In Nigeria most student don't get treat day until they graduate lol
@@prettytopiashorts Nowadays a lot of Nigerians don't get treat day ever💀
@@davidk.d.7591 fr lmao it's just suffering back to back 😭
I like your point of view on a place close to grocery & drug store 👏❤️. Thank you 🥰

I just filmed a house tour something similar for there. I don’t think I have a big wardrobe for a wardrobe tour 😁
Thank youuu
Glad your back. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Nice to see your looking for a new place. That water issue and now mold must be frustrating. Keep looking you will find something affordable and better ❤

Apartments here generally now are more of double the cost.
Be it room self, mini flat🥲.
It is well
Omo, I'm glad to catch your newest video so early

I was watching some of my favorite music reaction videos you made and I love the expressive reactions and true heart you displayed so unselfishly for us. You are so loved and I miss the music but I understand that we are all busy getting on with life, I respect that and love the unselfish way you share you life. I never want to lose you so keep it up. Much love and respect from the other side of the world. I wish you all happiness!

I hope you can soon rectify the "sick house" situation. I've had that issue in the past so I know the feeling.

Oh Mo! Your Penne Pasta recipe made me salivate. Was calculating in my head how much it'll take to recreate that recipe. Omo, let me just swallow my saliva in peace and keep moving.
The highly priced items in the recipe are beef/plantain but you can use them for other meals too.😉
i have been waiting for this for soooo long. i'm glad it's finally here because it's been a while since you posted here💜💜💜💜

We Indians make ' upma' from samolina. Saute chopped vegetables and then add water and then samolina. Salt as per taste and some spices if you wish to add. You can eat it with some sauce of your choice. Do try it someday.
