This video is fantastic for a newer player like myself! 😄 Especially because you're mentioning units that come in the first boxes an O-12 player might buy, as opposed to the Mayacast list which mentioned a lot of shared units that felt a little obscure and hard to wrap my head around. Would love to see more videos like this for vanilla Nomads, Ariadna, and Haq!
Great video, thank you! Was playing my first Infinity game ever yesterday. 150 points, Nomads vs. O-12. The other player (Kai) had the lists equally prepared for both of us, mine had the Feuerbach Gamma, the multi sniper Epsilon, the shotgun Gangbuster and three Kappas, one of them my Lieutenant. The Epsilon was the model of the game, as it took down the Kriza Borac with a single shot in round one. My Gangbuster was blown into pieces in round one by a Heckler with a shotgun, but guess what, he took it with him, so not too bad. This Nomads Hollow Men gave me quite a headache, jumping around like crazy and killing my Lieutenant in round two. Thankfully my Gamma hollowed the Hollow Men with its Feuerbach during the irregular order .. that was more or less the end of the game. It was due to great content like your's that I didn’t feel too noobish at the table so thanks again! Kai was a great teacher (think he went really easy on me), met him for the first time yesterday, very nice of him to offer this and to host me a game. I’m absolutely hooked with Infinity now.
It sounds like you played very well and had a good O12 list. The Gamma you ran is a solid option and the Epsilon did all the damage it should have done. You’re a great asset to the O12 team! The gangbuster is a funny unit. It can die very quickly (like Team Sirius) but only because the enemy prioritises it as a deadly threat - not because it’s weak.
great video! as an idea you could also make a video of different example lists (agressive one, midfield control and defensive, for example). keep going like you are doing, love this channel
I just shelled out for a new O-12 army - nearly everything that can be used in Code One aside from copperbots. What would you recommend using for a sidebot? Would a Yudbot be acceptable? I really would like to see a dismounted Lawkeeper and Sidebot blister - or a box with a pair of each and a pair on bikes.
@@the_infinitygamer both factions seem like great starting points :) might have to get that lawbreaker at some point, he looks like he can dish out the pain!
Damn I just settled for Combined army...don’t hype me up for anything else. 😅 can you do it for combined army 😇 always a pleasure to watch your content ! And what would you recommend for a beginner out of combined army, nomads or o-12.
Combined army is excellent I do love playing against and with them every so often! All three are great options and are very beginner friendly. The Nomads Code One box arrived very soon!
Nomads will be good to wait for Crimson Stone set to launch. You might be able to split it with a friend for them to take the Ariadna half. Combined and O12 would have been ideal with the Wildfire set but now the Starter Packs are the best 😃
The bots activate with the same order. Both move and then both do the same second short skill. If you’re shooting they can shoot different targets. Does that help?
Very good thoughts there👍 Im totaly on youre side with the Epsilon HMG, but none of the O12 Players I know want to play it that way... Thats where I always kill the Sniper, first Round, minimum effort🤦♂️ Gangbusters are good because they are cheap, but not especialy fantastic, when I Compare it with my YuJing Infiltrators. Its good, but Im not 100% in there with you😉
I do love the Epsilon HMG, if you can get in its good range band then you'll smoke the sniper variant easily. Just checked out the vanilla Yu Jing options with infiltration and they are really good, they're also at least 10 points more expensive so I agree with what you're saying. I mean, I can take two KHD Gangbusters for about the same cost as a Zhencha. Sure the Zhencha is great and this isn't an apples for apples comparison but I do thing the weaknesses of the Gangbusters is kind of made up for with the madtraps - those things are brutal (unless you dodge out of them 😂)
@@the_infinitygamer Its more the Guilang and Kanren Im aiming for, but yes Zhencha are fun to play 👌 I especialy remember one game Gangbuster vs. Zhencha now that you say it😂
So a few of my top 5 are on their list or yours. Not going to say which ones as people should listen for themselves because it is good. I do have a problem that is somewhat spoiler so I will save it. So my top 5 that I like that are not mentions by one of the other 3 in no particular order. Zeta, at one point I gave my brother a Szalamander and he kept telling me that it is great fun stomping around the battle field while shooting 5 dice.... He was right. He is best when lurking around your deployment zone close to good protection from enemy hackers. Bronze, if you want a mid field rock him with a red fury will do that job you just need to get him out to the mid field which is easier to do in vanilla. Bronze+Zeta can be a wall of armor your enemy is just baffled by especially if you have some killer hackers weighting near by. Razors, I find hidden deployment mid fielders as a great way to brake mix links or get points. To break a mix link let the point man pass you then on there next order kill the fleshy members of mix links Noyka, for the recorder I HATE there models but the bonus damage on an HRL, multi rifle parachutist or red fury is nice and I feel well worth it. Psi-Cops, this is my budget rambo of choice. 25 points mimitism -3 msv 1 with a multi marksmen, yes not a lot of choice that may be better then him but there are few bad targets for this one and they are 0 swc, which matters if you are dumping a lot in the Zeta or multiple HI.
I love all of your suggestions. I have really enjoyed running the Zeta because 5 dice and lots of armour is very fun. It's great in Supremacy as you can plonk it in one zone and not worry about the enemy grabbing it. the Bronze I love in principle but can't figure it out. I ran it in a Starmada link and it was excellent but I can't run links effectively anyway so the issue was almost certainly me. Nyoka, again, I've always included them in a Starmada list as they're brutal in a 5 man link. Psi cop too. Basically, with the exception of the Razor you've basically listed a good chunk of the units that will be appearing in my 'top 5 Starmada units' video. Mostly because I feel these units work so much better in links than they do solo.
@@the_infinitygamer In Starmada I find that Starmada works as a light infantry secitorial supporting the armor power the TAG brings. I tend to run 2 Nyoka HRL or HMG (some combination based on points), Noyka FO, a Tian Gou killer hacker looking like a bronze and a Psi-Cop msv 1 multi marksmen. if I bring a bronze it often replacing the Nyoka FO with a red furry or the specialist operative. I also fine with the Nyoka I want to never run a full core purely of them because I want to have the option to through in either of the parachutist options. They and the crushers combat jump really have me splitting the ava of the two groups and it often comes down to mission or terrain on which I think is better in that role. In Vanila: The Bronze is very mission dependent, I like him in anything with the armory room in the middle of the board or where staying power is king and I feel that the range bands are a little to close for a Gamma feuerbach. In vanilla putting a Nyoka HRL in a defensive spot inspire dread, still he is really easy to over power but he gives people pause to figure out how to deploy and if it is worth it. I think Starmada added good models I just find it is design odd and that it is not why I started O 12, which was for the HI. I am hoping they come out with a heavy interdiction force or something. I also think the HI in O 12 needs some otions outside of just throughing bullets down range, currently 1 out of 5 (6 if you count Hector) have a weapon that is not an hmg or spit fire for SWC weapons. Think of a Bronzes with and HRL/Missile Launcher or an Omega Sniper. To me either of those would be really cool and ad interesting things to list building as options. Currently it is which flavor of mass bullets do you want, mid range or long range.
I feel the same way about Starmada. I tend to replace your strategy with the Bronze with a Raptor as they have 360 and can cyber mask. Plus flamers are horrible in a centre room.
@@the_infinitygamer I need to paint up my Raptors. I have never been impressed with cyber mask as a use of an order unless I need to pass an area of almost no cover cover and one or two full orders of moving will get me there. My experience with this came from using Scylla, though she can not do it now and I think it might have required a wip roll which I had trouble passing. Cybermask now does not require a wip roll so I should probably try it again.
I ended up having the same realisation today. In most cases the 6” move means you can cautiously cross gaps. It’s pretty situational and cyber mask has enabled me to get into a good flamer position or past mines with ease.

I can definitely do that for the newer boxes no worries. Great suggestion and glad the video was helpful 😃
I miss so much Team Sirius & Gangbuster in Starmada... Definitely good pieces
Same, I think that’s why I keep going back to Vanilla. They’re my crutches.

Sadly that may have been lost in the memory banks.
