At the very West end of BNSF’s San Bernardino Subdivision sits Hobart Yard. This Intermodal yard is roughly a mile and a half long from MP 144.7 (West Hobart) to MP 146.0 (East Hobart). There are 3 main lines that parallel the yard up until the West Hobart control signal where it then splits into 4 main tracks. From there, Main 3 & 4 go over the flyover into downtown Los Angeles while Main 1 & 2 head toward Long Beach.
Hit up this location for the first time a couple months ago. It’s pretty cool, you get a lot of Amtrak and Metrolink along with a few thru BNSF freights heading to and from the Harbor Sub. You get to see some switching going on too from the yard.
Thanks for Watching!

Hobart yard is where CSX Q172 comes from, which i saw in north baltimore Ohio the other day
Has anyone given you any trouble or problems for being there?
What were the two trains at 2:47 ?
Nice catches Chris
Very interesting catches!
Great video! Many of these trains that you saw i saw down the line at commerce, basically railfanned the same day.
Which manifest was that going through Hobart with the up engine
mostly likely WAJBAR (Watson Junction - Barstow) the counterpart runs towards the end
Legit
Awesome catch
Why did you recommend me this?
