the yes here is a very small one. from the top brand to the cheapest is only going to be like 2-3% performance increase (you can manually overclock anyways so this is basically irrelevant) and MAYBE a 1-2 degree temp difference. I'd suggest just going with whatever brand you used in your other parts and choosing a 3-fan over a 2-fan for the slight increase in ventilation.
2-3 degrees? Bro 😂, on the time I bought my expensive asus rtx2060, there were other brands like Galax that the GPU was getting 90°C and downclocking right at use, super below the base core clock While my Asus rtx2060 today, after 2 year os solid use, gets at max 74°C with fans at 40% and using 100% overclock to 2010mhz Brands do matter when we're talking about the super shitty ones
I disagree. For example Suprim cards have really good cooling and keep them much much cooler. Also, different brands have different max clocks, so manually overclocking isn't equal. Either way, I think overclocking is overrated, since overclocking on new cards gets you at most like 5-10% fps, so it's not even that worth it anymore
Vendors execution matters a lot, and definitely not that 1-2 degrees you, moron, talking about. Compare some gigabyte vision (idk how they managed to make it so bad) to evga ftw ultra, between nvidia vendors there's huge gap in quality even amongst the products of same vendor (like disgusting msi ventus and solid suprim x, or stupidly bad gigabyte gaming/vision/eagle and really viable aurorus master) And don't make me even start how wildly bad was nvidia vendors versions of amd gpus with hotspot hitting 90-95° no matter what
On the other hand, you could be paying 10-20% more for 3-5% more performance. What matters most to me personally is how quiet it is. If it's whisper quiet while achieving 95% of the performance, I'm happy to pay a little extra.
NVIDIA also makes the reference boards, which all the card integrators use to base their own design on. They don't just make the board and silicon, they also make their own founders edition GPUs directly from NVIDIA
Usually, the higher end versions of a specific GPU are so much more expensive than the cheaper models that youre better off going for the GPU a tier above that at that point. The lower end models might not overclock as high or have as cool temperatures but you're going to save way more money for the rest of your components.
@@sleepiestsleepy. There's absolutely no fuckin difference worth paying for an ROG strix instead of a pny in low to upper midrange GPUs, however in high end ones the cooling mathers but still they all will have 3 fans anyways, if you're buying expensive stuff chances are yes you wanna buy the best looking one cause you got money to spare, but in other builds, it's a waste of money
@@RatRoththere absolutely is. I wouldnt touch a gigabyte gpu with a ten foot pole because their customer service is terrible. EVGA on the other hand I would buy even if it costs more because their cuwtomer service and warranty is top notch. Although they do not make graphics cards anymore.
If you got any friends who know how to build a PC then i would ask them to build it with you. A friend helped me the first time i build a PC. But you can always watch a video on youtube on how to build a PC. Good luck
as others said, it is a topic well covered. will name you off a few tech channels I think are pretty solid, can get good info/tutorials from them. 1) gamers nexus (great at cases and overclocking, basic building tutorials), 2) hardware unboxed (great at monitors), 3) jayztwocents (great at water cooling, offbeat builds, and covers basics too), 4) derbauer (tech news, overclocking, and more 'extreme' stuff like delidding), 5) pauls hardware (great weekly sunday news, also basic build stuffs). 6) hardware canucks (general all round tech, good coverage on smaller builds) these are just some of my favorites, there are plenty more of good channels out there. just don't watch the verge tutorial, or you will smoke your new machine.
Forgot to mention that unless you're going absolutely crazy with your overclocks the performance difference is about 1% literally 2-3 fps. 5 at the absolute best unless you thermal throttle
They also design the founders edition model For everyone who don't know the founders edition is the absolut basic model of a gpu but due to limitation of units they can be quiet expensive
Don't forget brands like- Powercolor and Sapphire. My 7900 XT Hellhound runs so cool, it barely spins up its fans to more than 60%. They're a solid brand.
There is also a reference design. This is a design by Nvidia and it's found on founders edition cards as well as on the cheaper models. Not all SKUs have it meaning that manufacturers need to come with their own designs
I usually go with XFX. Had a 5700 XT from them and now I have a 6800 XT from them. No complaints at all they overclock very well as well as undervolt. Plus they're not usually all that loud, I've definitely heard quieter cards but XFX is a great choice in my opinion. Way back I had an RX 570 and a RX 580 from them as well, great cards.
There all pretty much identical except for the cooling system and build quality because even though some might come with a overclock from factory you can manually do your own overclock for no cost
You forgot the most important part. Customer support, you don't call nvidia when their is a problem with the card You call whoever stuck their name on it.
Got an asus 2060 on 2021 and still banging rock solid, cooling running perfect. I did paid a little nore but I think this gpu will probably overlive me
it usually comes down to how good the heatsinks are for the coolers and the VRMs for power delivery. If those are beefed up you can push more clockspeed out of the same card. But at the point of 150 euro more you might as well just buy the low end of the next tier.
And the most important thing when talking about different brands, is the QC, well the top rated brands might have a better standardised performance between all the cards in the same model, but cheaper brands might have some that work reaaaly well and some that are just shit from factory since QC is not that taken care of
In the past the gap between them would have been much bigger but with nvidia trying to control the whole process there is very little actual difference other than design or the coolers
The gpu maker develope more than just the gpu die. They also make a reference spec for power delivery, memory and board layout. Hence the name reference gpu. All reference gpus are the same no matter the brand. The only time they are different are custom designs.
Yh i got the 4070ti zotac trinity oc edition and its fantastic, not only in preformance but also in temps it always stays cool even during games like rdr2, or cold cw with all settings maxed including raytracing, or mw3 zombies its amazing

Don't waste your money on the overclocked versions. A super cheap card can overclock better than those overpriced high-end models. Get the cheapest card that has good temps and good noise levels. Everything else doesn't matter.
Nvidia/AMD make the silicon and packaging, but will create a reference board with a reference VRM layout for the AIBs to either slap a new cooler on top off and bring to market day 1 or develop on top off.
i miss evga, i have an evga rtx 3080 12gb that i got RIGHT before they closed, since they were closing i got it for super cheap too, best cards ive ever had were EVGA
