@@sirkocipko9727 it is a lot of work. I've only had the press for a few years. Dedication to the craft, and willingness to stick with it are probably your biggest advantages over others wanting to do the same thing. Anyway, we're all progressing and learning, stick with it!
Nice job, looks great! “Honey, where’s the pizza cutter?.......never mind, I have just the thing!” I wonder if Vikings ate pizza back in the day? Enjoyed your video, regards from Down Under.
I was watching you drive in your drift, and was wondering if you could place an adjustable back plate on the bits to allow the same distance on either side of the steal as you place the drift in? Might save some of the guess work out of the placement of your steal during the initial start of the drifts. Just a thought. Might be over thinking it. BUT since I am an engineer by trade, not really surprising to me.
Too many videos on making a Viking axe, Viking sword, Viking war hammer - I want a video on making Viking golf clubs, Viking Kitchen Aid attachments, or Viking Swiss Army knives!

Only issue on that is he should look up the Scandinavian bearded axe traditional Scandinavian axes or viking axes were not as. Curved and they had More of a rectangular curve shape to the blade also the length of the handle but I give him props on the well done work
Idea 💡🤔 why couldn't a guy take that beard and go all the way back to the handle and wrap it around again? Might have to incorporate a hinge and a moving part during assembly, but once done.....👍 of course a lil' longer beard and handle for hand room

That thing has a lot of drift...good job!!
Outstanding job. A Viking warrior would be proud to carry that into battle.
You do cool stuff!

That's a very unique camp size ax. I like it.

Nice!
Very nice.
Thanks!
Great job. Write down how much this ax weighs
Thanks! Between 1 and 1.5 lbs if I remember right
I can see using that more in the kitchen.
Im just getting into blacksmithing. So I have one question. What are the pins called that form the hole in the head of the axe?
First a punch, then a drift
I think this kind of ax would be good for cutting meat and vegetables in food preparation.
What’s it’s purpose?
I think the client uses it primarily as a pizza cutter. It would work for a number of things
@@FireCreekForge LOL .....
Nice work bud. Throwing a bit of charcoal powder into the hole before you really drive your punch in will keep it from getting stuck as badly.
Thanks! I do plan to make some punch lube from graphite, too.
Looks amazing I love it but why make the handle short like that
It's designed to be a smaller, one handed tool, hence the name fist axe

this is a cool looking thing but whats it for? is it an axe or do you use it in the kitchen to cut vegetables.
It's multi purpose, you could do lots of things with it, I think the client is going to use it mostly for pizza.

What do you put on your blades and axes to stop them from rusting
Boiled linseed oil

Punching the eye was so easy with that press!
iş yaparken yani odun filan keserken elini yaralayabilir çünki sapı çok kısa tam keskinin altından tutuluyor sapı böyle cok tehlikeli.
What kind of steel?
I'd like mine with an 18in handle plz....
I usually use 1060 steel, this one was 4140

Possibly something similar

In this case it was a custom order, but with the little I used it I believe it would be quite versatile for general hatchet and large knife chores.

Wow, that press sure can move some steel, is it high tonnage? Ain't no power hammer move that much that quickly for sure 👍
It is 24.5 tons. It reduces in efficiency with the thinner the stock..

4140

Why did you quench in water and not oil?
because it's a medium carbon steel. a very fast oil would work too for 4140
