- The pasty is a filling meal with an interesting history.
We outline the history of the pasty, and it's ties to mining. We show how they're made and some of the more common ingredients. Our family tries several types of pasties for the first time.
Get to the pasties, hey!

YUM! PASTYS~~~
PASTIES? ALSO Yummy!!
LOL
Youre welcome michigan😊
Put pasty recipe I descripicion box!! I love history. I want to learn to make!!thanks
Good idea. Just added it to the description. We thought they turned out great and were delicious!
I grew up on them, my grandparents are from the UP. I've never had gravy always ketsup. I had a argument about the chicken and other versions lately. Superior pasties in Livonia mich is awesome!
Edit, cheese? Never! Chicken lolwot?
Nice. We've been missing out all these years. Have to say the original was the best.
I’ve made my pasties with beef chicken venison. I have had them with both ketchup and gravy, but I’m not gonna lie I like ketchup better and this is coming from a guy who lives in Westland Michigan. But he and the wife enjoy making them.
I haven't thought to use venison. That does sound good.
Cornwall meets Michigan but what the hell is rudebeger? I think it's what we call Swede in the UK
Yep, a rutabaga is the US name for a swede. Not sure how that name evolved.
A rude began is like a potato and is very hard and kind N of bitter before it's boiled. Chopped up it has a distinctive flavor in foods. I would never eat it all by itself, but it is good filler in pastys or soups. My family has had a rutabaga patch on their homestead for a hundred years.
As a kid mom made them cubed up and fried, sauteed in butter, yum..!
Gotta have ketchup on a pasty!!
We definitely agree!
If you ever had a Hot Pocket..... you've had pasties.
But not a great representative. 😊
Good way to describe them to someone that hasn't had one. They are better though!
prefer mine cold with nothing, no gravy or ketchup!
Interesting
Let us know if you find a video of a girl wearing pasties while making pasties. LOL
Scoured the internet, haven't found one yet. Lol!
