    Jay is one of the best, always honest and willing to help out. I like the fact that he is talking and working on the two strokes, i honestly feel the two strokes gets more recognition than they ever had for over a decade. Do we see a "comeback". Solid video Jay.

      Some people jumping on to the 2T bandwagon for the wrong reason. 2T is not for everyone

    thats some overkill to put grease in oil plug when threads literally filled whit oil. othervise good tool tips

    Hey Jay. the 800ml is too much. That spec book listed 800ml is referring to a dry reassembled engine. I’ve measured the drained oil amount and it is actually only comes out to be around 650ml.
    This has been notated by Tokyo off-road and several other ktm lovers.

      Yep -- However with a larger clutch cover can easily add 50ml and the more on top of that is because it doesnt hurt anything and helps clutch life- we tend to run on the high side as your oil last longer etc--

      @@dirtbiketv1 gotcha- thanks for the reply. I figured it hadn’t been hurting much because that clip was from 9 months ago and you guys have had these bikes for a few years now. - I’ve been following your channel for a while. Thanks as always for the content!

      @andrewmasonwerdna ปีที่แล้ว

      650 + 50 = 700ml, so 800ml I feel there's too much oil as well, usually less oil = more power(to extent) . Thicker oil = less clutch wear(to extent). Great video!

      I've always used the little trick where you take the inspection bolt out, stand the bike up on a level stand and filled it up until it starts to pour out the inspection hole. Sorta like a manual transmission on a car. 😅

    Do you have to use 2 stroke engine oil or just regular engine oil

    also wery important tip, always use torque wrench on oil plug. you open and close that so meny times that if you tighten it too much threads wear out! wonder why thats not on video. as a matter of fact its very good to use torgue wrench almost every bolt on bike..

    • @shogun678
      @shogun678 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you torque to spec that bolt will wear out fast. Also never torque the oil check bolt on these bikes. Will strip it out

    Which shell rotella do you use. I have a 2023 yz250x. Manual call for sae 10w 40 SG or better. Which Rotella meets it exceeds that requirement?

    Hello, I have a Gas Gas 2023 250EC Two stroke just bought and about to do the first oil change. Is it the same as you demonstrated here? Is there no oil filter or oil screen? Thanks

    • @keestojuusto6072
      @keestojuusto6072 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You have probably found out already but there is no actual filter in the transmission oil. The drain plug has a magnet in it and it should catch all the metal shavings and other crap. Clean it with a towel before putting back in.
