A Light-Bearing Holster that Doesn't Suck || Mission First Pro Series

  • Mission First Tactical has introduced the Pro Series holster to circumvent the challenges with light bearing holsters. If you carry a pistol with a weapon light, you know the struggle of often finding a holster. This is a fitted holster that doesn't lock on the frame, doesn't lock on the light, and doesn't lock on the slide. Instead mission first has gone with a magnetic design that snaps the firearm into the fitted recesses of the holster for strong retention, even in athletic applications. This thing comes compatible for raised sights and is an optics ready holster.

I don’t have experience with this one but I can say that Werkz puts out an absolutely incredible light-bearing holster as well with a nice, smooth, positive click when holstering which I like. This one looks pretty solid also.

@@HotBrass-Lead no not at all, hands down the nicest holster I have ever boughten. I returned many holsters because they either didn’t have a positive click which I like or were to harsh on my gun and light. Yea, it’s a tool but I also don’t want it scratched to hell either every time I draw my gun. Just don’t run the retention screw to tight. Make sure it’s a happy medium of smoothness to draw and retention.

I have so many holsters, its an adiction at this point. For light bearing I have two for TLR-1, the Philster Floodlight and Tier 1 MSP, both are great but big. Just got a McKinatec Universal for TLR-7A. Its awesome and not as big but lots of sxtra space when carrying a slim gun like P365 variants, Hellcat Pro or G43X/48.
All threaa of these work wth larger guns too. They all lock on the light. For non light bearing, I have a bunch of brands and types. One of my favorites is BraDeC. I order them with the mod wing (claw), then change the fomi clip for monobloc spring steel clip and add Crossbreed wedge. Paired with Nexbelt, there isnt a more comfortable set up I've found and very minimalists profile, conceals great.

I haven't heard of mckinatec holsters before I've been searching all over for a universal holster for a TLR7A. My favorite light for compacts. I have a different owb holster for universal tlr1 which seems to be a lot more common with the duty sized lights.

@@MartyBugg I found it! I'm definitely going to order one, man I love random TH-cam comments sometimes, you learn everything you ever need 🤣. Also check out Odin holsters they are currently one of my favorites, their minimalist holster is the best I've seen for appendix carry, very little extra Kydex in the way. Those sidecar holsters add soooo much extra bulk that's unnecessary with a compact or sub compact it can make a gun twice as thick once it's in a holster, I spent a lot of time trying to find one, and they have options for less popular guns as well which I like.

He got paid to do a video… those were the talking points. Then he tossed it into his bin of holsters he described. The only way to know what he really likes would be to do an EDC check if you ran into him around town, then you’d see what he actually prefers. That being said, I prefer snap loops even though they are probably considered old school or fud these days…

Im generally not keen on things going in the barrel that arent bullets. Not sure what that strut is made of, looks like metal. Plastic chamber flags have been known to melt in hot chambers during competition, rendering the gun inoperable without a gunsmith. Its probably a non issue with this holster and pistol, but gives me pause.
