22+ years later and it still ranks as one of the greatest music sessions of all time
ABSOLUTELY, LOOK AT THE LINE-UP OF TALLENT.
Yeah. A fitting tribute. Timeless music from a special talent.
Hard to challenge you. I'm sure there's other great concerts, but I can't think of one as good as this. And it's all about one writer. Can't help feel John deserved a similar tribute though. That would've been a special concert too. I understand Georges tribute was the design of his dear friend Eric.
Easily one of the top 5 rock concerts of all time. There are many moments within this concert that are so good, so amazing, that time nearly stands still. You can tell the musicians are pouring their heart into every single song. This wasn't about money, nor politics, nor anything other than simply for George.
You have it in a nutshell, well said
🤩
How cool that you were there to hear them say that and to know what they were actually thinking.
El concierto es grandioso, aunque todos son excelentes músicos, la interpretación de Billy Preston es absolutamente única y genial, increible
Cynical much? How about you articulate about something profound in your Life...maybe your latest shit perhaps?
There's no doubt in my mind that this is the best concert ever performed.
It's not just wonderful music, magnificently performed, but a glorious spirit of genuine love and friendliness that radiates from the stage.
It's nearly a quarter of a century later now and I still can't get enough of this show.
Amen
Bravooo
❤️
This is Mark’s (the account holder’s)?worse half:
I start bawling every time I watch this. George has ALWAYS been my favorite!
Our cherishing doggie died three years ago. Every time the grief overwhelms me, I play “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)”. It brings her back to me.
Faço minhas, suas palavras. Como beatlemaniaca e por ter usufruído desta época com músicas de qualidade, me emociono toda vez que assisto este vídeo. Linda e merecida homenagem dos amigos à George Harrison ❤
Nicely said Gerry544. I agree overwhelmingly
Its now 2024 and m still here reliving everything up. Year after year, i will continue to rewatch and rewatch this most incredible concert ever🫰🫰🫰
What a thrill for George's only child to be up there with these artists and playing his dad's songs !!!🎸
Yes he just beams at his Dad's best friend standing next to Eric Clapton
Точная копия Джорджа
I wonder if he looks like him
@@AllisonLansberrybecause he may not have been born if it wasn’t for Eric
@@pamelamergl517 Dhani is the spit of George at his age. No question who's child he is ever. Dhani has inherited his Dad's personality, modesty & musical genius also
No video walls,no TV towers,no plastic musicians, just ordinary guys playing their hearts and souls out.
EXTRAordinary guys! What a treat..can't beat truly live music, especially of this calibre!
Paul’s final words referring to Dhani, were so true. “George stayed younger, we all got older.” 👏🏻
Yes I am
@@googlegopg6331 ?
just so true
Ever since I saw this back in the day I have followed Dhani's musical career. It's quite amazing really. His work with Jeff lynne, Joe Walsh and his own group of guys too! Not to slag on the other Beatles kids but other than Ringo's kid Zach who plays drums with The Who I think Dhani is the most overall talented of all of them and that's saying something! But then there was George! Listening to his music brought me closer to my favorite Beatles and one of my all-time favorite guitar players, songwriters and musicians. And he just seemed like he was an overall really cool guy with a great sense of humor! Rest in peace George, you did your work, you gave it your all, and you did it so well!!❤🙏🎸 🔊🎶👍💖👏
This concert is one of the most unique & brilliant ever performed. May it endure the test of time into eternity. Two observations: the intermission with the Monty Python bit & the apron wearing bare bottom men was neither funny or appropriate. Why did it take place? Standard, crass fare for an audience of decadent, disunited, useless citizens, unworthy of attendance as nearly none of them realized how much Harrison sacrificed just to try to wake them up during his last years? During "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", subtle, yet significant lyric changes: "At" (as in I look "at" you all) is changed to _"and"_ , save for the very last verse in the refrain. Diverted changed to nobody heard you. "I don't know why you were diverted", instead says _"why nobody heard you"_ . Just some interesting points I thought worth mentioning.
Ravi Shankar's amazingly talented daughter Anushka played brilliantly, & her conduction of the Indian orchestra with the few from the (London?) orchestra was perfect. Ravi Shankar's _Arpan_ (an offering) was preceded by a traditional Sanskrit musical invocation (the wikipedia article explains as much). I'd guess not many western ears cared for it, though they performed a profoundly beautiful ceremony held to ensure the presence of one no longer with us. Near the start, Shankar said he was sure Harrison was there with them, and asked "how could he not be?" This was a legendary, magical event, one that shan't be forgotten.
Billy Preston singing My Sweet Lord made time stand still. Wow.
Yes sir👍
He was the 7th Beatle
Billy is an incredible talent. Unfortunately he died 4 years after this perfomance. We miss him so much.
No phoney altar- egos,no platisticine musicians,no phoney preachers stealing " hearts at a travelling show" just the purity of performers like Clapton,Lynne,McCartney,Starr,Petty,Brown showing their love and respect for a friend.
The more I learn about George the better I become
This is one of the most valued and created history for the world to cherish for all time. Thank you.
Joe Brown's ending was a tear jerker ... brilliant tribute by all. Love you George ❤️
Damn Billy Preston really has an amazing voice; range, tone, richness, fantastic.
Yes, absolutely ❤️
Agreed. Except, sadly, "had", not has...
@@Gottenhimfella I can truly say I loved Billy Preston.
"All Things Must Pass" 🌎 🕊 💖
But George Harrison's beautiful music 🎶 lives forever 🕉 🌟 🎸
So many good songs. So many good musicians. So much love was transmitted.
🌟🌟 Une pure merveille ce concert!!!! Que d'émotions!!!! 😢😢🌟🌟
Merci Sir Clapton !
Même en 2024 🌸🕊🎶🕊🌸
Put together the best musicians of the world, give them the best songs ever made, and then we have this.
I cant get enough of this outstanding concert and tribute to the Great George Harrison. Thank you!
Can you imagine growing up with this music and being surrounded with these artists! How staggering!
Dave Grohl: made the connection while Ringo performed his song, “Photograph.”
“As if the previous hour hadn’t already been the most life affirming jolt to my soul, Ringo’s presence and this song in particular struck an unpredicted chord within me,” Grohl wrote. “Here was a man, generously withholding his own grief of losing a dear friend and bandmate, spreading love and joy by sharing the most healing force in time of mourning: Music.
Joe Brown doing the last song that he and George loved so much is music in it's purest form, capped off by Joe escorting his dear friend's wife from the stage. A very special moment. I cry every time I watch it.
2023 and still took my breath away. Just simply awesome❤
❤
2024
Nice. Not fake. People loved George.
What a beautiful Tribute to George. I have watched this several times and enjoyed it more every time. So much Talent on one stage. George was blessed with so many great friends ❤❤❤.
Dhani has to be the luckiest young man on this planet; to play on the same stage with these ROCK LEGENDS, and he deserves to be there too! 🎉 Such love & respect for George! My ❤ is full! Watching Petty nearly brings me to tears! Yet another rock God, gone, entirely too soon! 🤟
I bet Dhani would have not wanted to do but have his Dad instead. (I totally unerstand your post, jaynestites8401, thank you)
What a jewel of a concert.
George Harrison's songs reach so deep ❤
Decades later, this warms my heart. George was always called the "quiet" Beatle. It's clear to me that George had so very much to offer.
I bought the Blu Ray DVD of this concert. It is, hands down, the best performed, best sounding, concert ever.
A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO GEORGE, WONDERFUL.
I wish I could give this a thumbs up every time I watch this. Truly my favorite of all time. George you are missed dearly.
Imagine being such a sweet and loving person, that all your friends do such an awesome concert to tribute to you
Beautiful Tribute to George Harrison .
Eric Clapton did such a great job putting this together. One of the greatest concerts of all time. I don't know how all those musicians could play at the same time and sound so good. Bill Preston singing My Sweet Lord was perfection. Clapton's "My Guitar Gently Weeps" was amazing, and Joe Brown's "I'll See You in My Dreams" with just a ukelele was the perfect way to end it. The video editing and sound quality of this production are off the charts.
Joe Brown with one “cavaquinho” 😂 dont say ukulele 😊 it é s a Portuguese instrument 😊

This concert does good for the soul. My go-to in times of troubles.❤😌
Yes, saw it Live at the Royal Albert Hall...not a dry eye in the House.
Sam Brown..was so good seeing her..she little known lead backup singer for Pink Floyd. Old Brown Shoe Classic with Gary Brooker. Once in a lifetime memorable event..yes, my Seeet George💖
.also you might notice a familiar face inThe crowd behind Gary Brooker on the first seats in the audience..Steve Winwood..
So now and then I cried. I love George since My sweet lord came out. I have nearly all his solo albums. I am happy he left a son behind. named Dhani. He looks a lot like his father.
What a a beautiful , beautiful concert-----I'll be back often!
Harold...it's just irresistible! Never tire of this concert. Drawn back to watch it over and over. That's powerful.
Some of the world's best musicians all packed on 1 stage. These guys are great
A power manifestation performed by a unique collection of artists, mostly belonging to the Anglo-American musical rock and pop tradition of the last fifty years.
What a magnificent concert !!!
Really cool interpretations of many of George's songs, we all knows and loves!
Fully agree the details mentioned in other comments.
Unbelievable that this concert hit over two decades ago and it still feels like last night. So many favorite songs, so beautifully performed. Thank you.
...and there was Ringo, dancing just as he always did (see Hard Day's Night) because he's got the boogie in his butt, and he's making everyone laugh, too, just because his joy is so infectious. I love the guy. Lots of other performers too, but Ringo had that special bond.
Paul, too, in a different way..."All Things Must Pass" always makes me cry, but THIS time I burst right into tears!
I purchased Abbey Road when it was released. I grew up loving the Beatles in the 60s. I love the songs of John and Paul. Quite different. But my two most loved tracks on Abbey Road, my favorite Beatles album are Georges. Something and Here Comes The Sun.
Absolutely. Isn't it a pity is my favorite from this concert.
Super
😊😮😮😮😮😢😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Joe Brown singing 'I'll See You in My Dreams' made me cry!
George's spirit embraced them all and their love gave up his spirit. Peace and Love...no more wars!
Im so glad they have the full concert again! What frickin bunch of talent on this stage.
Fabuloso concierto, sin palabras, musicazosssss y el espíritu de George entre ellos, realmente hermoso.

All Things Must Pass was so very touching 😢
Great, beautiful, unforgettable concert
So......touching. Jeff Lynne sings "Give me love" like nobody else.
I really love this concert, not only because of the music, but because of the atmosphere, it was great. It's easy to say that all of these people really loved George❤

The best concert I ever saw
Certamente a maior homenagem que George Harrison recebeu! Show maravilhoso e inesquecível ! Parabéns a Eric Clapton pela iniciativa e a adesão desses artistas mundialmente consagrados . É evidente a atmosfera de amor por George Harrison.
Thank you! I’ve been looking for 1:26:34 for years!! It’s amazing how Dhani looks so much like his dad! I hope he’s doing well!
Never tire of watching this fantastic concert for George... by greats of our music industry world wide ❤❤
❤❤
I think Greg's comments nailed it. I think many of us fall - literally and figuratively - into the old man category. Words ARE so important. Let's face it if all poetry writers could sing, there wouldn't be any poem!
Love brother - keep 'um coming.
Thank you so much for uploading this masterpiece concert! ❤❤❤
Unforgettable George we love you so
Wow,can’t believe I waited this long to watch this
2023 Still Beautiful Concert.

The darkness only last till night time😂😂it’s not a sad cry it’s like inner peace
Marc Mann on that searing slide guitar.
So much love on this stage for a beautiful soul...the best tribute a person could ask for.
This was amazing!! My heart is full! Thank you Eric, Jeff, Billy, Paul, Ringo, and especially Olivia and Dhani❤️❤️
Twenty years later...November 29, 2022. In Memory of Our Sweet George. Thank you so much for sharing this concert.
I cannot stop watching this❤
It's addictive, isn't it? George still making his presence felt!
Thank you for a good time with George Harrison and all his friends.
For sure the most underestimated Beatle! Great Concert!
Great songs by a timeless musician!
I didnt appreciate his body of work until I watched this concert.
I love how perfectly they brought a song as over-the-top as Wah Wah to the stage. Rightfully sounds just as huge as the studio version.
Focused on paul on "im thinking of you 😂
Always thought that must have been a bit weird for Paul, to play on a song about how annoying he was.@@gerrymillar46
すばらしいコンサートを見せてくれて本当にありがとう😭✨
All those lovely guitars playing together in such perfect harmony! Wonderful.
sensacional, um legado que ficará para sempre em todas as gerações que amam músicas belas e lindas! Muito obrigado Beatles. Muito obrigado Geoge Harrison!!!!!! o planeta Terra agradece!!!!
☺🥰
Quanta gioia in queste canzoni.
Grazie George.
This amazing show sure holds up. Thankful they recorded it so well. What a band.
At first he didn’t want to do it, but I told him this was only going to happen once, then Eric told him if he was going to do it he had to stay on stage though the whole concert. I just remember him turning to me well on stage and telling me thank you. You can see him looking back at the curtains and read his lips saying thank you. After I asked why he was thanking me, and he said you were right this was only going to happen once and that reminded him of his father’s way of thinking.
Ringo Starr is a livewire. The ageless wonder is treat to watch. We are blessed to have them around. Long live RIngo and Paul. Rest in Peace George and John. What a grand concert to celebrate the life of George the legend. #beatlesforever❤
Thank you boys. This is
Real Music from the soul!!!
When music hits the heart it feels really good, thank you so much George, rest in peace and may your god be with you.
Still brilliant after 22 years ❤❤❤
Wow! What a show. So many great songs. I love all the Beatles. In my younger days, I was a Lennon fan. After they broke up, I loved McCartney's solo stuff. But as I've aged, I've realized how great Harrison was. His solo career stands up against the other three. "All Things Must Pass" is the best Beatles solo album of all time. George was a special person. I love the spirituality of his music. As all people, he had personal flaws. But who doesn't. What a great tribute this concert was. Thanks
Eric Clapton’s solo on It’s It A Pity
Was a So Emotional I felt he was really playing for his friend George Harrison 💔💔💔
Should you at least inquire. Best concert ever. And the filming and editing? My god.
In lovin memory George beautiful straordinariy concert peace 🎸✌
It's hard to imagine there could ever be a better assemblage of musicians and music.
George Harrison became one of the premier slide guitar players later in his career. Hats off to Marc Mann, Andy Fairweather-Low and Mike Campbell for covering the famous slide riffs in those famous songs. Would not have been the same without their efforts.
You know Andy is a legend when he himself even says he hates playing with a slide and is terrible at it.
Yes, they really did George incredible justice.
Joe Brown's joy in his craft cant fail to make you smile! What a concert. Without rival!
For so many years people gave credit to Paul & John for being the talent of the Beatles when all along it was George who was the musical genius. I hope in heaven that I can still hear George playing.
Without George: no Beatles
The Beatles were not a group of kids in a talent contest. Each one was immensely talented. As a group, The Beatles, changed our perception of the world ( our, being those of us who were around when they happened).
Disfrutando una vez mas de este tributo al inolvidable george, suerte la mia despues de 24 años, gracias
Isto é um Show de verdade, musicos excpcionais e musicas maravilhosas
Clapton is so good. Great concert
All that musicians were very friends of George, great tribute and great concert

I do much agree with you. Eric Clapton was the STAR of the show. His singing and guitar playing were fabulous ❤❤❤❤❤
He & George were best friends
@@jeanwalters7576yes but he didn't play the " Star" just as modest as George. Two brilliant genius that played wonderfully together
