I just randomly came across your channel yesterday and this was the second video I watched. Being from Louisiana, born in New Orleans, I've always had an appreciation of French culture. Even though we didn't speak much French ourselves. The food, architecture, fashion, history you never notice growing up in Louisiana until you move away. ( currently residing in Florida ) The last few years I've been exploring French cinema, art and philosophy which has sparked an interest in learning French. I thoroughly enjoyed this video of just two fellow Americans expressing their love of things French and their experiences there. I've subscribed to your channel and Damon's channel as well. Looking forward to more content and your perspective of life in France to help bridge the understanding of the culture there.
Also I know she may have seemed rude, but I just want to point out that she was actually very smart to lock it in front of them. It was clear that they were going to be there for a while, so she got some free security to watch her bike.
About the shower curtain, you have to buy it yourself, a detachable one. We consider it to be a decoration so some landlords just don't put any and let the new tenant do so according to his/her taste. Also, it is possible that the previous tenant bought one and took it when moving.

I’m super impressed that u guys are fluent in French. I live in Berlin and there are tons of Americans which is awesome, but lots of people don’t speak German at all even after living here for years. You even have to order in English in cafes and bars because some of the waiters don’t even speak some basic German.
I think the stereotype of french people smelling bad actually stems from WW1. Americans joined the conflict pretty late in the game , and when they arrived on the french front the french soldiers thet met had been fighting in the tranches for months in awful condition. They turned it into a stereotype and brought it back with them in the US
As an American here in Paris I love D's recommendations. I started going to Social Square -- now I'll check out Partisans! I'm always around Art & Métiers. :) Cute video guys!
I really enjoy all your talks and other videos, but when I saw this one with Damon.. OMG! Loved it. I used to live in France for a good part of my life, and live in New York now. I totally relate to your discussion about friendship, etc.
Hello ! First, thank you for this video ! Then, I will reply to your request about shower and curtains haha ! It is all about the fact that en France, people from a high social class will get most of the time 2 bathrooms : one called "salle d'eau" (water room) with only a shower and so a curtain. This room is only to take shower stand up on your feet. Then, they will have a "salle de bain" (bath-room) which is the room where an actual bathtub is. La salle de bain, is more luxurious, spacious, it is really destinate to relax and to let ladies prepare themselves. So that is why most of the "salle de bain" do not have curtains ! Because you should be lay in your bathtub thinking about your ex and life.... ;) hope it has helped you ! (also french are really attached to the past, so, we don't really think about the problem of curtains and we will better build another shower room than changed our old habits xD )
As an American living in France, I agree with Damon that I feel more free here than in the US. That's strange as growing up in America it is engrained in us that we're basically the only free country in the world or at least that is the perception.
13:50 I grew up In Dubai and went to a French school we literally communicated with Arabic french and English in a sentence it’s kinda weird and cool at the same time idk
they actually are! Ashley did a video of her stay in the UK and how she took a quick weekend trip to Paris. In the pictures she posted on her video, you see her at a rave party with Damon & Shanya
the "stink" cliché actually come from studies that counts the number of "points d'eau" (like showers, baths, sinks etc) of your house/flat and the less "points d'eau" we have, the "dirtier/stinkier" we are. But like that's completly false because people with two showers can stink more than people with one bath :))
I love that you mentioned so quickly that you’re both air signs !! I thought this straight away and see the ~air connection~ lol. Respect from your Gemini sis. Love you both so much 😭💛
Loved this discussion and its feels so vital now especially with all the turmoil that the US is going through. Loved what Damon said about how in French culture they want to do things 'together'. That sadly is what has been lacking here but hopefully in these turbulent times we realize that ' United we stand, divided we fall'. (P.S. I discovered your channel through Damon Dominique. Much love from Los Angeles)
The two of you interacted perfectly together; creative, open, instructive, inspirational, and fun.....this was absolutely one of the best...thank you both so much

I totally agree! I have wanted to live in Paris for many years, and cannot wait. I plan to go there as soon as an American can travel to France. Damon is so right, I might as well live somewhere beautiful. I'm so happy for you both living there.
it's quite fascinating to see how as Americans you're ,,obsessed" with productivity and like be better than the day before. in France we just work because we have to you know, to pay for our lives basically. however, your american mindset is slowly arriving in France, people are more and more interested in productivity. I think that this productivity is what made america great in the first place, people worked very much, were innovative, etc... this led to success and the fact that america is always three step ahead of France

the "stink" cliché actually come from studies that counts the number of "points d'eau" (like showers, baths, sinks etc) of your house/flat and the less "points d'eau" we have, the "dirtier/stinkier" we are. But like that's completly false because people with two showers can stink more than people with one bath :))
I was just thinking about this collab when watching Damon's fauxgue video the other day!
okay but ending the video with that gorgeous message about abstract painting made my life. i feel so inspired by you!!
I love that you mentioned so quickly that you’re both air signs !! I thought this straight away and see the ~air connection~ lol. Respect from your Gemini sis. Love you both so much 😭💛
AGH I love you two this is great and I’m learning French, so I enjoy casual bilingual videos.
i just dmed her and asked very kindly if she would spread awareness of the USA police violence. i was BLOCKED
The two of you interacted perfectly together; creative, open, instructive, inspirational, and fun.....this was absolutely one of the best...thank you both so much
U ARE a libra my girl
Hehe no I'm Aquarius he is libra but I think we have a very similar energy as air dogs ☺️❤️❤️
I love this video so much. I don't speak French, never been to France and I'm not connected to America in any way but I love the atmosphere and the mood it put me in. Thanks for that.
Ahhh this was so good! You guys are too cute + love the perspective on international friendssss. Sending loveeee (also an american living in Paris 😉)
ahaha alsoo my french teacher in highschool told me that people here don't shower, idk where this comes from either! + completely agree on productive days american vs. french!
it's so great to see two of the channels that I take so much inspiration from doing a collab together
Ah I LOVE LOVE LOVE this, I don't have a lot of friends here and this made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Your channel is so needed in this strangest of years!
Yesss! This is the collab we needed. I love both of your channels ❤️
Your 'Why I speak french fluently' video was wuuunderful. Have you thought about doing a more in-depth video about your process? Bisous!
Omg this is so overwhelming!!! My two favourite you tubers and biggest inspirations all in the one video! Your lives are my dreams!Xx
I totally agree! I have wanted to live in Paris for many years, and cannot wait. I plan to go there as soon as an American can travel to France. Damon is so right, I might as well live somewhere beautiful. I'm so happy for you both living there.
The collab we've all been waiting for!!
She spaced out in the middle of a conversation like a typical Aquarius but still present at the same time. Love that.
it's quite fascinating to see how as Americans you're ,,obsessed" with productivity and like be better than the day before. in France we just work because we have to you know, to pay for our lives basically. however, your american mindset is slowly arriving in France, people are more and more interested in productivity. I think that this productivity is what made america great in the first place, people worked very much, were innovative, etc... this led to success and the fact that america is always three step ahead of France
The birds chirping in the background are everything 🥺✨
Chaotic gods ♥️ we love ya 🌻🌻
Hearing from other Americans living in France warms my heart!!! Thanks guys
Interesting video, I loooooove the american accent of Damon when he's speaking french (and I'm obsessed with the flowers on your top)
AHH I’ve been a huge Damon and Jo fan now for years and just found your channel recently and love your style and content so much!! This was the collab we all needed 😍😍
You both work so great together! Really one of the best collabs ever! So natural, such a great and relaxed conversation! I really loved It! I think you should shoot more times together
OMG the collab is real!!!
i just dmed her and asked very kindly if she would spread awareness of the USA police violence. i was BLOCKED
yo ive always tought like wow they HAVE TO MEET AND THEY're BOTH AIR SIGNS and now you uploaded it and sait the same hahahahaa
I've replayed 16:07 so many times. Because even though I know that Damon and Jo swear in real life, and even sometimes on their own channel, it's so weird hearing Damon Dominique drop the F bomb. 🤯😵
This is such a vibe!! Love you both and this collab is EVERYTHING
