Just wanted to point out if you have a harness going to the battery for the bid ballasts, it should be just a trigger. So whether it’s 5v or 12v it’s just an off/on switch on that harness. The actual power is coming straight from the battery. So if you aren’t worried about the hours on the ballasts and bulbs than the DRL circuit doesn’t need to be deleted. If you don’t have the harness that goes to the battery and are powering the ballasts directly from the headlight plug, you will want to delete it. As that would probably not work for the ballasts. Could potentially damage them.
Tip for everyone: do not touch the chrome of the inside lens housing with your hands or gloves. The oil on your fingers will make the chrome turn black. Source: I used to build headlights at Samlip Tennessee.
@@96ej we used a specialized cloth gloves to handle the housings. If you touched them with your bare fingers, the oils on your finger would leave a black fingerprint after a bit of time. Eventually the chrome starts to peel away from the fingerprint.
It's not the cheapest option but if you're going to keep the car I highly recommend it. These projectors have a great balance of width and distance. For me it was one of those mods that makes you fall in love with your car all over again.
Hi. What's up. I bought the min d2s 5.0 also. Gonna retrofit my navara np300. On removing some material for the lock nut to fit. If i heard you right its just a little at a time..so what would you guess about 2mm? Because my housing the tabs are tin...do you think i can remove from both the tabs and the lock.nut
You mention the cutoff lines and the driver side was crooked. Why do you think that happen. I mean if the H4 alignment ring fits in the grooves..why does the projector still has a horizontal movement. Can you elaborate on that.
even though there are tabs to align the housing there is still some tolerance or wiggle room. Light them up, aim them and tighten down the nut and make sure you are happy. Most cars have vertical and horizontal adjustment but this one only has vertical but there is a micro amount of "play" side to side. You'll see once you get in there Good luck on your retrofit!! Take your time you'll be fine

Great point!! Really appreciate you pointing that out. I was worried about the hours because this was getting driven 20-25k miles a year

Great looking headlight! My IS300 needs an upgrade like that badly!
