@@ayannaevans238 Same. One of my sisters got married last year. I just happened to have an outfit in the color that she wanted guests to wear. Absolutely no one could believe that my outfit was at least 10 years old.

She is stunning. Such beautiful young woman. She herself is the epitome of EXCELLENCE. She is well spoken, classy, and poised. The respect that she has for her beloved Grandmother, and the respect in which she handles her precious treasures is admirable❤
What a gorgeous young woman. She could be a model herself. If she received what her cousins didn't want I can only imagine what they choose from the closets. I've been wearing vintage most of my 65 years. It just shows how styles come back around every few years. Those studded shoes are a prime example. Many blessings to this young woman. 👏🏽Tamron your top and earrings are 💯🔥 Both of you are exemplary, bringing black excellence forth. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Olivia, thank you for sharing your grandmother's love for clothing that will never be old. Her spirit continues to live through vintage wear. I love it!
I am sure he knew how valuable they were, he gave them to his granddaughter as part of her inheritance. They are very wealthy so I am sure she is also taken care of financially.
@@soniaharrison1016 She says her older cousins and sisters got some, then "he gave *A LOT* of her clothing to the Real Real," which is an exclusive second hand store. You can see in her face (10:56 - 11:03) that she's smiling but she wishes he hadn't. They can be "very wealthy" but they obviously can't buy her another grandmother, and she would have liked to have had more of her things as a comfort and a remembrance.
Ms Johnson used to coordinate Fashion Fair Fashion show tours around the country and they were EVERYTHING. I grew up as a dark black girl in Kansas City, KS. The show came through with models of every hue. I went with my mom who loved fashion. It was amazing and I will never forget it. Ever.
Growing up, I saw ads for this company's products too, and want them to get the credit they deserve. So, I wanted to clear up a confusion. The young lady's grandparents were not part of Johnson & Johnson. Her grandparents created Johnson Products Company (black hair care products). Johnson & Johnson made medical products and later on consumer health products (which is how we got band-aids, and baby oil).
They should have an exhibition of her grandmother's beautiful clothing at the met in NYC. Detailing her history as a business woman and sensational fashion sense.
My Dad used to work for JPC. He loved it. Her grandfather was the hard nosed business man and his brother John was the creative ambitious figure. George and Joan were both hard nosed business people, a true power couple. Those are amazing clothes.
The sable fur coat is quite a spectacular piece for $50,000! I believe her full length silver fox fur coat embodies Young Olivia in a nutshell, tho! 😂😂😂😂
I know its gorgeous. I have a beautiful, pristine, full length chocolate mink coat from the 80s, picked it up for $70 Canadian, since fur is considered passe. Its light weight, luxurious, and super warm. I think it would have been about 30,000 then, which would be about $100,000. So pick up those beautiful furs now since they last forever and are so priceless
This is a delightful segment. I am so proud to see that she honors her family legacy. I wish that there was a way for more people to see this clip. I was a teenager during the Soul Train days and I remember the commercials fondly.
WOW what a testimony from her granddaughter !!! My eyes just welled up with tears!!! Such a beautiful sweet way to remember her!!! Thank you for sharing your story!!!
The fashion today doesn't stand a chance with that of yesteryears they had the best, l love the old Betty Davis movies for fashion anything of that era was on point, You're Grandmother was a Queen she set the Bar
Eunice Johnson was Ebony/Jet magazine Fashion Fair cosmetic and the Ebony Fashion Fair Fashion Show. Honey the event of the year often benefits scholarships.
This fashion is impeccable. Her grandmother had a classic style. Timeless, beautiful fashion you can still wear. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 💜💙💖♥️🙌🏽🙌🏽 RIH to her beautiful, elegant grandmother 🙏🏽🙏🏽🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🕊💐
What a beautiful story! I’m inspired to examine my great-aunt’s wardrobe. I think some of the pieces accompanied her when she immigrated from Jamaica to the US.
I MET MR. JOHNSON AT ULTRA SHEEN IN CHICAGO MANY YEARS AGO AT JOHNSONS ULTRA SHEEN COMPANY. I had done some part- time work for another hairr care line he also had in the South!!! It was SUCH A PLEASURE TO GO INTO HIS BUILDING THAT WAS PERFECTION AT THE TIME I WAS ABLETO VISIT THERE!!!
I'm sick. I got a few of my mothers cloths from the 40 and 50s, and I love them and also a few of her mothers things which was my grandmother its so amazing
I wonder if she ever got a chance to play in her grandma's closets? And if her grandma ever told her that she would inherit her wardrobe like I've always told my first grand daughter that all of my jewelry and handbags and wardrobe belong to her?
Not every family like the Johnson's kept their wealth. Maybe her grandfather needed that money by putting those items on the Real Real. I met a young man from a hair care family in Dallas, "The Cottrell's" whose working as a waiter because his grandfather's wealth is gone. Good luck to her.
Not sure how she’ll cover this except to increase her Coverage B limit on her homeowners or renters insurance. Not unless the clothes are considered valuables then I suppose she could get a valuables or collectibles policy
I think designer clothes seldom go out of style. Look at the number of dresses HRH Katherine and HRH Anne have worn over the years. Anne has worn dresses that are 30+ years old and Katherine has worn gowns over 10 years old. There is a timeless elegance to designer clothing.
Wow❤. Perfect reminder to avoid trends, wear what we love & what looks good on us. Her grandmothers fashion sense is timeless.
I totally agree!! Always love classic

the material used also dont fade or fray easily as the fast fashion brands we have now. I guess there is a reason why they are expensive
