Glad to see you make a "normal" Jessie video with all the other things swirling about for you these days, if you know what I mean (and I'm sure you do).
You ever gonna do this with comics? The "Best of Peter David" collection - modern issues with that guy aside... - are probably my favorite Trek comics ever.
This sounds fantastic! I just bought the DS9 Re-Launch: Twist of Faith omnibus and I'm excited to start that! I hope y'all have a joyous holiday season!😊
I have real bad dyslexia so I totally really on audio books fingers crossed for the older book getting out there. I had a lovely email from Dation Ward how explained that authors have no control over if a book makes it on to audio. please don't pirates audio book it doesn't just hurt creators
Vanguard was decent, I just got tired of everyone being up to something. Plus, they never numbered the Vanguard novels, so I kept forgetting which ones I needed to track down. Not 100% sure I finished the series. Am glad they are giving the series a second chance though.
Why did you not sing in the original Klingon?! (Haha, I love languages, but I've never truly tried to learn Klingon.) Did I read the Vanguard books? I think I wasn't often reading Trek novels by then. Good to get a review. Budget sucks. I'll be lucky to have a lump of coal in the ol' stocking, and if I did, I'd probably burn it! -- Supposed to get record-breaking cold here for Friday night through Sunday. By the way, would you happen to have some rice wine (sake) you could send down from the bridge? No? Raktajino? Saurian Brandy? (My oven/stove went out 2 weeks ago. Friggin' apt. maint. can't be bothrred, multiple calls. I am not happy about it.)
It used to be Pocket Books, part of Simon and Schuster, I think, who did the Star Trek novels back in the day. I don't know if they still have the license / rights, or if Pocket was bought by another publisher, given how much shakeup the industry has had.
I read the Vanguard series when it came out. Got sick of it very fast, for a lot of reasons. Suffice to say that Starfleet looked more like the Orion Pirates than the guys that do the right thing. I gave up after the UFP took the stance that it was best to destroy scientific knowledge than let if fall in Klingon hands. "If I can't have it, nobody will" indeed. I wouldn't recommend that you re-read it Jessie. You might become disillusioned with your memory of the series. Then again, you might decide I'm full of cr@p, who knows?
TBH TNG-era Starfleet and Federation made exactly that decision multiple times in the shows as well. It’s a recurring shortsighted thing that they do, because inevitably another power in the galaxy just discovers it independently and now the UFP won’t work with them instead of cooperating. I honestly don’t know if the writers genuinely think it’s the right thing to do, or if it’s maybe a reference to how the Soviets realised the UK was working on nuclear fission because none of the scientific papers from allied nations mentioned it even theoretically. And then they used that known lack of discussion, to secretly work on their own research, and caught up shortly after the USA had got involved to massively outspend the UK.
Nothing like a singing trekkie dork to help get you into the holiday spirit. 💙 ☺️
Garak's voice is so distinctive its hard to _not_ hear him narrating it when reading his parts of novels.

Sounds like a really good book may have to look into picking this one up sometime.
Loved the show... I appreciate your thoughts...ty Jessie.

Ooooh! This sounds super interesting.
Kirk and Kang _have restraints on each other?_ I'll be in my bunk! ;)
I know I should be exited about In Harms Way, but what? Andrew Robinson is doing a DS9 Audiobook? I didn't know that!
This does sound like a really good one. Thanks.
