  • Brushed 1/16 SG 1602 RC Truggy Vs Brushless 1/16 SG 1602 Who will win!
    Look a bit like mini 1/16 ARMMA Kratons! Which is the best Small RC Car?
    Brushless:
    www.banggood.com/SG-1602-2_4G...
    Brushed
    www.banggood.com/SG-1602-116-...
    Both these little Cheap RC Cars are good fun! And the Brushed one is not actually to bad compared to the Brushless one. You get a few extras with the Brushless one, so this is probably the best Value RC out of the 2.
    Chassis is the same as the HBX 16889 Brushless RC Monster Truck, and if you watch this video, you'll see how tough this RC is! One of the toughest cheap rc cars you can get!

    Hi
    I have one of these with brushed motor but I have to keep going on and off the throttle as it cuts all power to the motor if I keep any amount of throttle on for around 2 seconds
    Once it cuts out there is a blue led on the receiver that starts to flash slowly
    Only does it on the ground
    If I hold it up it’s fine
    It’s like the esc Is overloading under any load?
    Any idea?

    the 14-16 mm diameter lithium ion cant push the current like the 18 mm cells, which still cant push all that much, so they played safe with 370 size brushless and metal rear shafts.
    there's a chance that popping in a LiPo may start shredding gears etc, same time there's also a fair chance running LiPo in the brushed will about keep pace with the brushless.
    Subotech/GPtoys/HBX often same factory, and they're very good with their structural plastics, rigid with some flex, difficult to break. I don't worry much about those fat plastic drive shafts, larger with larger joints/couplers is welcome too tho.

    Phil, I'm curious as to why you referred to both batteries as being Lithium-ion. Are they not just round lipo cells?

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lipo & Li-ion are different, although you do hear Li-ion's being called Lipos etc... it can get complicated, but Lipo in the RC world refers to the flat type batteries which do give a higher discharge rate, and it does make quite a noticeable difference.

    Have you got the new Wltoys 104311 crawler coming? Quite keen on having a look at that.

    • @TomleyRC
      @TomleyRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Banggood offered it to me for review, but I kindly refused as it's actually very toy grade and by the looks of it, it has non proportional steering.

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Phil if you're looking at toy grade, get a look at YYplay's YY300. bang-bang steering yes, but its 4 mode 4 wheel steering, proportional throttle, motor braking, with enough power+speed for crawling+bouncing. the tiny body it comes with DOES suck, slapped a JJRC Q-15 (a 20 dollar mistake) body onto mine, looks a lot better. same wheelbase as a WPL, is another body option.
      Danchee "Trail Hunter" for 40 bucks or less (eBay), is 1/12 or 1/10 scale wheelbase with big soft tires, proportional steering+throttle and motor braking. not bad for cheap entry level half toy half hobby grade, RedCat endorsed/sold them too... but for about 100 bucks their RockRidge 4WD 4WS crawler gives a TON of control and flex, pretty good looking rig too.
      the Trail Hunter here, CA'd some body posts to it (sideways) to slap an HPI pre-painted Jeep body onto, looks and performs pretty good (lots of flex!). it's a 2 axle 2 motor "toy", but haven't needed to open it up yet to try to drop in stronger motors. replacing 130's with 180's can do wonders if there's room to be made for them, done it to a few things already.

    • @philpayne4579
      @philpayne4579 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TomleyRC That's a shame. I just saw pictures of it and it looked like it had a nice body. After the excellent 144001 that I just got for my son for Christmas I was hoping it would be of similar quality. Definitely not interested if it's toy grade as it costs way too much to try and upgrade those sort of things. Do you have any suggestions for a decent rolling chassis to put the electronics from a 12428 in? We upgraded it to brushless and it's good for nearly 60mph now, but fed up of having to fix it all the time because it's clearly not built for those speeds. Tempted with something like the Absima ab3.4.

Of the dozens of orders I've made with them I only had a problem once, and after emailing them they straightened everything out. If there's a downside it'd have to be the shipping time. It's not Amazon, so it may take anywhere from a week to a month, but it's still worth it.
