    TRIGGER WARNING: The Price Guide of The Occult has a lot of self harm and talk of self harm so please go into it with care if talks and details of self harm triggers you. I wish it was something I knew before going into the novel
    Children of Blood and Bone was literally the book I’ve been waiting for and didn’t even know that I was 💕

    I read the whole Winner’s Trilogy in March (The Winner’s Curse is the first book) and I’m still recovering, it was sooo good, and Arin and Kestrel are my new OTP, and Kestrel is such a badass in a non-classical way. I also just watched your video where you give Clay a tbr and it made me smile and laugh so much, Clay’s puns were on point 😂

    I read 15 books in March (I had surgery and a lot of time off from work to read!) and the top ones were: Euphoria by Lily King, Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, and Idaho by Emily Ruskovich. I don't ever read fantasy but you've inspired me to put Children of Blood and Bone on my list because I do love African lit.

    I've just finished reading Godsgrave (finally!!) and I thought it was incredible! Can't wait for Darkdawn to come out later this year!! Currently, reading Ready Player One and I am loving it so far, hopefully going to pick up Children of Blood and Bone next because it seems incredible! Also, you definitely made me want to read The Wicked Deep, it sounds so good!

    Recently read Shadow Weaver, a very creepy and awesome middle grade novel. Since you love middle grade as much as I do, I’m sure you’d love it!

  • @ammalyrical5646
    @ammalyrical5646 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've recently finished the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver and am finishing the second book in the Worldquake sequence by Scarlett Thomas.
    Both middlegrade fantasy series with a very original setting, magic system, and twist on the chosen one trope.
    The first series is set in prehistoric times and involves puzzles and travel, as well as the perspective of a wolf (telling a lot about the magic system actually spoils a part of book 1).
    The Worldquake sequence has a postapocalyptic setting and had very much the same innocence of first and second Harry Potter books, as well as the clever names and allegories. Plus portal fantasy with a bookish twist.
    Such a recommendation

    My desire to read suddenly skyrocketed after hearing about Shea Ernshaw (since she and I have the same name, which is pronounced shay by the way, but no big deal!) I never see my name in the media in any capacity, and to share a name and initials with an author is AWESOME, let alone the fact that The Wicked Deep sounds incredible. So excited to break out of this long slump I've been in!

    Hey I’m a little new to your channel, I got here by checking out some books I want to read in the future.
    Well, the one series I want to read is YA fantasy and everyone out there says it’s good, so I’m not too worried about it. But, I also just want to diversify my reading habits a bit, and I figured YA would be nice. Since I am a young adult lol.
    A lot of sources though, (here, Reddit, friends of mine) say that a good portion of YA books are all the same and use too many cliches, have super vague and similar characters, etc. So I’m hesitant to read them because I’m not sure if they’re worth my time.
    If you could maybe, do a video on why most of these books are like that, and/or talk about quality YA books that are different or use the cliches creatively, that would be nice.
    Thanks!
