We want to interact with other humans in particular. For the sake of argument let's assume we eventually can make machines that are "alive" in every sense of the word, not just the scientifically alive but with emotions, a sense of self, and experience. That would effectively amount to making another species. As humans we want to keep having offspring and keep those offspring safe so they can have offspring. We socialize with other humans. It would be counterproductive to create machines like this, which would effectively replace us. Our fate as a species is much more important than any convenience afforded by robotics.
When people are sick. Part of healing is HUMAN contact. This is evil.

I remember a few years ago, seeing a similar video on robotics and it showed what looked like a big headless dog running fast on a treadmill. This thing looked weird. As a nurse, so incredibly stretched thin and seeing my patients wanting to have someone to talk to, laying there; depressed; I think this robot would be a Godsend. You don't realize how much you'd want social interaction in the hospital until you're in there laying there day in and day out. People who say they wouldn't talk to a robot, would be surprised put in the situation.

How would these nurses help give elderly patients showers or sponge baths. Also who will sanitize them to prevent spreading a disease if they are used in multiple patient rooms in a long term care facility or hospital?
