Rick, I love your videos and playing. Please do a video on soul/funk single note muted picking fills and lines. Maybe like the muted picking grooves you hear in Sade tunes.
@@TastyGuitarcom Got em in the mail! Bit of an adjustment curve as I had always used super thin picks playing rhythm - for that snap - but i was finding some bits lacked definition. These picks are forcing me to be more accurate and I dig it. Totally different subject, but have you ever considered making an Alex Weir video? I've watched (and watched and watched) his "great rhythm grooves for electric guitar" vid from back in the day. It's killer. But I really enjoy the way you break things down and would be stoked to see your take on some of his work with Talking Heads or Brothers Johnson. Anyway, thanks again for putting this stuff out there in such a succinct way and with such reverence for the history.
Love that funky 🎸 great lessons on funk guitar, some of it was a little reminiscence of James Brown funk guitar in many of his recordings. Thanks Much.
Thank you Rick, always such a treat just watching. I got a little Grant Green vibe from the last one - am I very off course there? Thanks again mate, God bless and love to Mrs. Stickney too.
I have made that video, but it's exclusive to the members of my subscription website, not on TH-cam. Please read the description below for info about the membership and free trial.
Awesome lesson! Do you have a lesson on the type of rhythm u are doing before the fills? That vamping on a chord and adding movement to it thing ur doing ?
Great information and great teaching approach...love it! Can I ask what pickups you use...? I mostly play Strats but I have a standard Tele I'd like to modify...Thanks...!
I've been learning can't stand the weather by the great SVR and the funky guitar part in that is giving me some issues. So maybe learning some of this can help me with that.

Thank you ..
Very tasty, I love it! I think I will not only learn the fills but also the grooves you played before each fill as they are just that nice!
Awesome lesson! Do you have a lesson on the type of rhythm u are doing before the fills? That vamping on a chord and adding movement to it thing ur doing ?
Not really but that is a good idea for a lesson
Following up wondering if you could make a video on the little embellishments your doing on the one chord when vamping. Please :)

Thanks Rick!!!
How much compression do you have on your guitar? Great lesson.
No compression
Excellent. Where did you get the bass guitar groove from? Thanks.
just a loop in logic pro, the drums are clyde stubblefield loop pack... so that's the funky drummer himself on the kit
Nice shout out
Great lesson, all of them, just catching up. Anyway we can get backing tracks for some of the lessons; Patreon, tip cup?

Who can I listen to hear these guitar styles?
@@jamericankid4086 these kind of chord fills are more common with piano players than guitarists. Check out Richard Tee's playing with Stuff
Be nice to actually have the tabs. That pdf is a bunch of random tabs that have nothing to do with this video
This TAB is in there, the collection is alphabetical starting with numbers
@@TastyGuitarcom the tasty Guitar tab collection pdf?
