This man lost 27 years of his life in prison. But he never stopped fighting for his country and standing with his people against oppression. A true hero, a larger than life persona. He's the kind of leader that would enter a room and everyone would immediately recognize his presence. Few in this world could ever command such respect.
Church street bombing, 20 May 1983 - Pictures of an ANC massacre Friday, 06 December 2013 07:07 Like4.9K Share 7 Tweet The Church Street bombing was a car bomb attack on 20 May 1983 by Umkhonto we Sizwe, the military wing of the African National Congress (ANC), in Pretoria. The bomb exploded on Church Street at 4:30pm on a Friday. The bombing killed 19 people and wounded 217. The Church Street bombing attack was commanded by Aboobaker Ismail, authorized under the leadership of Oliver Tambo and Joe Slovo, with the knowledge and approval of Nelson Mandela. The Church Street bombing murdered both black and white people, and far more civilians than police or military.
"Long Walk to Freedom" changed my life. For 27 years he endured prison, terrible. But the really inspirational part is that he could have gone home if only he gave up the cause of freedom. Proof of his commitment and true courage

He fought especially hard for students education, even though he didn't have to go through it. Since he was brought to an English school, but the fact that he still fights for it is what makes him a good leader.

Absolutely. I studied at Nelson Mandela academic hospital and it was in fact the place where I witnessed the most racism. I have recordings and video footage of the multiple racial prejudices I experienced whilst there
I can't believe that Nelson Mandela was in jail before I was even born. I was born in 1964 and was amazed that they let such a great, gentle man out of jail but I think the guilt some people felt eventually got to everyone (and so it should!!!) He will always be known as a great man throughout all of history. I feel so humble to have lived in his time. Thank you.
I can't stop watching this everyday in my life in PNG 2024. I hope the whole Africa have missed Nelson Mandela❤. I admire leader like Nelson Mandela in my own country PNG 😢❤
Nelson Mandela's (Madiba) will always be loved❤ and remembered ♥️ They locked him up and sent him to prison as a young man, when he was released from prison 😢 he was an old man. All he wanted was freedom for his people and to be treated fairly. 😢😮 What a sad government 😔
The sentence was life not 27 years. He came out "early".. I read his autobiographie and I am now in the last chapter, "Freedom". This man is incredible ❤
We need you Nelson, gone are you. Yet America needs you so much more then ever, may you never ben a American yet your spoken words are true what we deeply need at this time with is all this madness. Jet us find peace with all nations. My God hold you Mr. Mandela

He was so great that he did not meet Aborigines in Australia.I am from Pakistan and admit that he was a leader of his people. He did struggle and served a every long time in jail. But he was not a universal leader. He was a great leader of only Africans of South Africa.
It might not have been the best education but I thank our former president for fighting for our freedom Giving us the right to good basic education Even thou ANC changed for the worst we are still greatful Rest easy Tata🙏
