I wish I would have seen this decades ago. After watching the video, it seems common sense but I don't think most people think about it and pull it tight at the top like I had been. Thank you brother!!!
😂 Excellent. You never know how much you still have to learn.... until someone shows you how to solve a problem you didn't even know existed 🤣 Now I'm going to check on all my premium bibles and get extremely mad at all that gilt hopelessly and forever eaten away 😩 Thanks for that 🤣
But it's so much easier to open it to your place by sliding the ribbon out near the edge and then lifting it, and it can usually be done without pulling the ribbon too tight if you leave a pretty big loop at the top when you set it. That's my system, anyway.
Great lesson...however when you’re like me and you open and close your bible 10 - 50+ times per day, the whole, getting them properly in the gutter can be a chore itself lol. I actually don’t care for ribbons and if it wasn’t for the fact that I paid so much for my Bible...I’d cut them out
I'm the same way regarding the ribbon. I was wanting to cut mine off, but didn't know if you weren't supposed to do that. Not really anything about this online as far as I could find. I prefer a ribbon.
Im in the same boat. Got a nelson premium. And these ribbons, are about to get hacked off. I would rather use receipts, or post it notes than ribbons. They fiddly and horribly engineered. They feel nice. But who cares. They hurt the usability. And they're bout to get chopped off all my bibles. The nicer bibles, tend to think thicker more premium ribbon is better. And its not. Its signifigantly worse than thinner cheaper ribbon. But its still oriented in a way where its going to fold and if its pulled tight, will damage pages. They need to be aligned like the pages are. And a 90 degree bend sewn in to prevent a fold. Its a horribly engineered thing. And I would rather not see them on any bibles if they cant do it correctly. At the very least, chop them off, and use them as regular bookmarks. It'll be signifigantly better than the built in kind.
Bible ribbons are terrible. I just bought a premium Nelson Bible. And the ribbons are thick, and a pain. And im not far from chopping them off and using receipts as bookmarks. Cause its just too much trouble. Bible ribbons. Need to be aligned like the pages are. With a 90 degree bend sewn in by the attach point, so they fall in the pages correctly with no fiddling. And there would be no risk of damage either. If its one thing I dislike. Its when something is engineered badly, and requires fiddling. You would think with a 150-200 dollar bible. They could do better.
Thanks i just started my collection of premium Bible's and this was something i needed.
The Schuyler KJV is too nice.

I guess it’s still better than the gilt eating away at you
I like that you use "towards Revelation" instead of "to the right"

Very helpful and practical. Thank you.
Can you show Chapter & Verse for this? 😜😇

I've read that putting the ribbon or bookmarks in the gutter puts too much stress on the spine by prising it apart.
How do i use it if there is only one?
To the bottom right, to open the page💫
Woah! What Bible is that?!?!? Please tell me so I can buy! Lol
Thank you sir
Nice.
What Bible is that?
Gorgeous
That’s the Allan NASB Reader. It’s a Lockman LPUT with upgraded paper and everything.
There’s really a video for everything out there.
Thank you for this video!!
I don’t think I would be able to go on living if the guilt was eaten away
or is the guilt eating way at me?
No! I've been doing this wrong for so long!
Michael Dabbs Ha! Get it together, man!

i cut a lot of mine off…especially if i don’t like the color. i don’t care if it’s a premium bible…chop chop. 😂
1/4 empty
I strongly dislike ribbons. I never use them. They just get in the way. I just don't have the heart to cut them out of my premium Bibles.
😅✌️
