Personally I think it should be illegal for them to claim everything is real when it isn't.
If you have a product and you claim it does one thing when it doesn't, you're false advertising. It should be the same for this stuff. You shouldn't be allowed to falsify things for TV when they claim it's real.

Not a reality TV show but a documentary.
My grandfather and uncle where were working as sort of rangers in Africa a few years ago.
They were approached by a TV company, trying to make a documentary about what they were doing.
They followed them for a few weeks and after they were finished cut contact with them.
My family found out afterwards that the media company edited everything, portraying my grandfather and uncle as rich white Americans hunting for fun endangered animals.
We are from Central Europe, not rich and both of them hunted to keep the population of the animals in check.
That showed us all how the media lies to make a point.

I remember watching a video about the US Pawn Stars show. These ppl had gone there to check it out and meet the cast...they mentioned that they had been in a long line for hours and by the time they got in, the cast were so annoyed at having to deal with the public, so that was 1 issue. The next issue was that when they went in, the front 1/4 or so of the store was where all the pawned items were....the other 3/4s was just selling their own memorabilia, and they tried to just guide everyone down there because the only stuff in those glass cabinets at the front and elsewhere, was just all trash...broken kids toys and junk like that. The stuff that ppl brought in to sell, was actually given to random ppl who had been waiting in line and knew nothing about the object being given to them, then the item would just go back to the owner again. If you didn't do a good enough job trying to sell the item, they'd give it to someone else to sell instead!

That bit about the Gen Xers being on the show sounds so much like what's happening now with Millenials. I feel like media itself is what makes all the generations turn against each other.

    • @rugalbernstein5913
      @rugalbernstein5913 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Of course it is, it turns generations against each other, as well as political groups, races, genders, religions, even sexualities. Any time we spend distracted from the corruption going on in our countries is time they spend being corrupt unopposed.

@@rugalbernstein5913 of course political groups are going to be against each other why would two completely opposing sides agree on anything? Also if anything it's Christianity that's been alienating all of the religions throughout history so you can't blame the media on that. And you can say the same thing about Christianity when it comes to other sexualities can't blame the media on that that's just Christians being Christians.

    • @rugalbernstein5913
      @rugalbernstein5913 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@bigbawlzlebowski8886 because they're not completely opposing, a lot of the time they just have different views on how to solve the same problems, civil discourse is possible, but not if they keep demonizing each other. And for religion, it's very obviously not a problem unique to christianity, Judaism and Islam also have major issues with being antagonistic towards other 'non-believers' as well. All of these trends get exploited instead of helped, which provides convenient 'enemies' to distract the public from making more meaningful progress towards unity.

It's sad but all these shows where the house is renovated are likely the same way. I saw a goof up in a series called Love it or List it 2 that showed how fake it is. Thr goof slipped past production as there's no way this should have made it on camera.
Contractor to Host: We have a series case of mold.
Host: How do you know you haven't started opening up the walls yet?

Assuming Maury counts then I would say Maury. I remember when my son was born and my parents refused to believe he was mine and my BM tried taking me to Maury. The producer called me and asked me what I thought and I told her I believe the baby is mine and she kept pushing me to try to create doubt. When she saw it wasn't working she said "sorry we can't take you guys. We need someone to be ''the bad guy' you know?"
Also my barber said her brother was on the show for the paternity issue as well. Turns out when you are there they split you into different rooms and antagonize the situation through he said/she said nonsense. Sort of like getting a bull riled up before it sees the matador. She did say that if they show your episode more than once you get a royalty check though so I guess that's how they keep people coming.

Back in 2001, my aunt sued my other aunt and they got a call from a producer at Judge Judy. Seems like they really do go through random court dockets looking for interesting cases! They flew out my 2 aunts, one of their boyfriends, my mom, and my cousin from Spokane, WA, down to sunny Los Angeles. My mom said that Judge Judy liked to be over-dramatic (duh lol) and told me about the things that didn't make it to the episode. They all got paid like $50 for their appearance plus the free airfare, hotels, and food. But here's the thing about Judge Judy: both parties receive the amount they're suing for regardless of the outcome! The show pays both parties. So if you're ever getting sued make sure you counter-sue so if you ever get that call definitely go on the show because technically you both win no matter what happens! So I guess besides the people not having to actually pay if they lose, the show itself is very real! Also, it's awesome as fuck that my mom has a VHS tape (haha) of her and my cousin as witnesses to my aunts suing each other on Judge Judy 🤣🤣🤣
Side story: those same aunts were back at it again this year. One of them was granted custody of the other's daughter due to her drug addiction and homelessness. The same aunt, the younger one, won in both instances. Clearly they are sisters that just don't get along! And yes, my little cousin is definitely in a better place. 10 years old and just got her own room and bed for the first time in her life.
PS - sorry for the side story, it just seemed relevant lol

Had a friend on biggest loser. Her sob story was all lies, broke her father's heart and made his life horrible up until he died.
In the show, it only shows them exercising for about an hour a day and eating healthy etc, and they drop kilos a week... in reality they were only given basic salads and water, and we're exercising all day everyday only stopping for sleep.
Both my friend and another contestant ended up in hospital in critical conditions due to severe malnutrition and nitrous oxide bubbles in the brain and joints.
While I support weight loss shows, things like the biggest loser can be very disheartening to those who don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

When I was like 6 me and my parents went to the pawnstars shop (I live in Las Vegas) and they started kicking people out that weren’t actually buying anything so my dad grabbed a crappy power tool and was acting interested, but then we see Rick and his son come out and then the guy obviously selling then we see the “gun expert” walk from there back room of the pawnshop and just stand near the entrance to the place and they start filming and they pretend the guy walked in, overall they sell for half an hour but they let us stay in some little kid keep the drums like three times and They cut the shot everytime but finally they kicked the kid and family out. I wish I knew what episode it was but I don’t remember anything about it I remember was it was an old gun. And a fun fact Rick shopped at the same store me and my family did say he obviously lives near us and his son played at the same little league as me, for some reason the kid quit halfway through the season.

I submitted pics of my art work to the producer by email. I dealt with the Gold men, perfectly pleasant gentlemen. I sold 2 art pieces to them and one to a person in line. My step dad pawned one of his Santa suits. We weren't aired. It was at the beginning of the series.

There are only two "reality TV" shows I truly liked... at least at first. The first was called "Beauty and the Geek". Some seasons were not that great, but it kind of reminded me of when I was in the military and saw people from different parts of the country have to live and work with others that they normally wouldn't have anything to do with. Then seeing them over the months find out that they are actually pretty cool. The other is "Forged in Fire" which is still one of my favorite shows.

17:54 I used to work in the kids area at a zoo and one day this elderly lady shows up with this energetic kid. And the kid goes apeshit as soon as he touches the equipment, climbing along the side, grabbing other kids, and jumping up and down. The lady eventually apologized and said something along the lines of " I'm sorry. He's just so much like his father." And she went on about how his father was some kind of parkour guy / gymnast / martial artist and had even been on TV before. And I asked her what show and she told me American Ninja Warrior and wound up pulling up videos of the guy doing crazy backflips and fighting. I looked him up later that day and sure enough he was a contestant, and surprisingly he lost pretty early on.
Needless to say, I don't think that show is in any way fake, those people are just superhuman...

He made Judge Marilyn so flustered it looked like she wanted to yell "this is fake! You know that, right?"
In the end they spliced the vid and added in stuff from her clearly in an empty room, to make her look wise and all knowing and him a doofus. Stuff he said about the law became her lines, and in the end he just laughed at how stupid it all was.

Impractical Jokers basically sucks these days. The guys have changed way much since going all Hollywood and shit (that movie sucks, by the way), they're much too hibrow, which in my opinion, is inconsistent with the kind of comedy that they were known for in their early days that put them on the map...
The spinoff show, Inside Jokes... what that REALLY IS, is a pre-defensive position where the Jokers and producers hide the shows validity out in the open. It's all part of a clever misinformation campaign intended to pre-anweer the potentially destructive questions that one might ask
The notes claim that they don't get recognized that often, which I don't believe for a second. You'll see that around every other episode of Inside Jokes, but worded differently, or in a different context. The more viewers see those production notes on the screen, the more they become convinced that what they're saying is true l
There have been entirely too many this happen on that show that are just too coincidental to convince me that the show is 100 percent real. Like both Q and Murr both having a tooth fall out on differentepisodes.... BULLSHIT... an during the most critical times too
