@4:50 That is actually a good way to build the yard tracks, as I'm always trying to make it look realistic. What I do is place the longest consist I intend to run on the main line to gauge its length.

How did you get the tracks that close together? Every time I try that it merges the ends together.

Hold shift while placing/moving a track or spline. ;)
