The wood on the bench is great the way it is. A nice mix of different woods looks very eclectic and ties all of the natural colors in your entire living room together. You have beautiful style.
Was thinking exactly the same thing. Either one large cushion or pillows. It would make a perfect window seat. Instead of an extra shelf you can put wicker baskets to hold extra pillows blankets etc...
Dani Mota me to... that one hurt me to the core. It was so beautiful and now it’s half the rug it used to be. 😢 I loved that the rug set the footprint of the entryway too.
NICOLE LEONARD I was under the impression it was a faux cow hide, which explains the price at Goodwill. I was sure she doesn’t use real leathers in her decor, maybe I’m wrong?
I love how it turned out 💯. I would leave the bench as is. It matches the bookcase black accents. If you change the color off the wood it will look to matchy-matchy.
Personally I would ditch the blanket ladder all together in that space as I don't feel it makes the most sense for the function of the room. Possibly you could diy a copper coat tree in that corner.
The ladder serves as height to balance off with the bookshelf. If she removes it then she would need to replace it with a similar object. A coat hanger sounds like an AWESOME idea!
I think it's hard to make wood match every single time, but I personally try to stick with only up to two different wood tones and have other materials (metals, fabrics, etc.) for anything else. When I find pieces that aren't the tones I have, I stain them to match.. I can't help it lol
I think your entry way looks gorgeous just the way it is, different colors of wood, the copper colors and the lumbar pillow. Wouldn't change a thing 💖💖. Thanks for sharing ☺️
I LOVE this entranceway, it's cohesive and beautiful. I love how you took us with you when you went looking for pieces and telling us why you place things where you do. That's great for us amateur home decorators. I reckon leave the bench.
I love the versatility and warmness that the area adds!! Everything looks great together. Leave the bench as is, not too matchy-matchy. Definitely my favorite area in your house now after all the makeovers!!
I understand that normal people don't really have this problem and I might be a bit in my own world. But to be honest some people actually need to wash everything that is textile because of allergies (read me) but the simple solution there is just wash the whole thing with a couple of tennis balls and tumble dry your good to go. Take it from someone who does this monthly.
This space is beautiful as is!!! When you first mentioned the different wood tones, I was with you 💯%... Then you continued decorating and... Girl, you need to do nothing else to that space. You did an absolutely AMAZING job. Everything looks BEAUTIFUL!!! You are truly gifted and talented, and you do it all so effortlessly. Love your channel Sis. Enjoy your space! 🤎🤍🖤❤️🧡
i really appreciate the time spent on the curated book collection. i never understood buying books you have no interest in reading, no matter how pretty. love the reindeer!
Hi Macenna 🌻 I'm fairly new here, and haven't written a comment before now. I found your channel a couple of months ago and wanted you to know, I'm just loving everything you create and of course you too! xoxo Your so talented, you have amazing style and you're very talented and creative!!! I love all your DIY projects, enjoy your macrame tutorials, your drawings, printings and all the other ideas you share!!! Your makeover turned out beautifully and your entryway is now so inviting and cohesive with your livingroom!!! I'm in love with the bookshelf and how you've styled it, and by the way the grain sack pillow paired with the rust colored pillow look great on your new bench!! Speaking of your bench, I wouldn't change the color because it works and looks great with everything you've put together!!! You have turned your house into a beautiful, cozy and inviting home!!! I can't wait to see what you will be doing next week, thanks again for sharing your knowledge and creativity with all of us here watching!!! Love and blessings to you and Romeo!!! 💜
I love what you do with the rug cutting it in half you have so many great ideas, I think the bench you can stain it whenever you’re ready or you can put a cushion and sit and read books there and or put the wood shelf under and put basket, SO MUCH GREAT IDEAS!!!!! You can change every year different
I love all the textures and colour palette. That shelf is so nice. I might have to get it also. I think it’s just needs one final touch, some lighting to set a mood in the evening. Lovely makeover.
Love the vibe of this entry way! 😍 especially the book case 😊 more vlogs! I love the feeling of like you’re taking us with you when going on a shopping or thrift haul 😊
Looks great. A suggestion: attach the copper ladder to the wall or you’ll have it pulled over again and again. Could hang some hooks off the top rung for guest coats.
I knew those pillows were going to turn out beautiful and soft. I love your bookshelf! Love the way you decorated it. The whole entryway looks so nice! I liked how the rug looked under the bench. Looks really nice. You are extremely talented! 😊😊
Great job! Just a suggestion....I'm a plant lover, so I would add a hanging plant over the diy copper ladder. Something that's vining, like an inexpensive pothos🍃🌿
you should cover the bench with a long, cute patterned or colored cushion! drape some nice blankets and maybe a throw pillow or two. you would never notice the color difference
Glad I'm not the only one. It's ruined now so when she tires of it no one else will be able to use it. I only hope it's a fake. It won't seem like such a waste.
I think the bench looks great that way! your idea of adding a solid piece of wood is a great idea too, though! It’ll look cute either way. I LOVEEEE the way everything turned out. 😍
You could make a long flat cushion for it? And then some throw pillows? Maybe a blanket on top? I got a flat outdoor like patio cushion for the bench in my entryway and I love it! Just an idea! 😀
I've legitimately thought that all of this could be possible with Museum Putty - I guess people use it to keep things falling off shelves in earthquake zones too. Earthquakes. Cats. Same thing, really XD
TashaFierce I thought the same thing!! 😭 I know Im a stoner when I find home decore that works for storing my weed or rolling papers or ash trays for my patio. 😂😂
I wouldn't worry about the bench exactly matching the bookcase. Mixed wood and mixed metals looks great. You've got lots of different brown tones working here, it looks fab just like it is!
Love, love, love this entrance way, looks amazing. Those shelves are awesome and having a bench to sit on to take your shoes off when you come in is great. Even better if you put a shelf under the bench to put the shoes on, rather than in the basket as they would get jumbled. I'd use the basket for hats and gloves and scarves in the wintertime. Only thing missing is a freestanding coat rack for guests? That little copper dish would be a perfect place to throw your car keys so you don't forget where you put them and easy to grab on your way out. I think the X-shaped marble thing is a paper weight? The only thing that is bothering me is the cowhide rug. Is it real? Thought you were a vegan and it's making me uncomfortable TBH.
Ooo I do have that little dish to put somewhere!! Great idea!!! It’s faux but I’m not a vegan either. Just thoughtful about being more plant based and kind 🥰
I love the subtle colors in your home. I'm much older than you and my home is Tuscan, Old World and African inspired. You have inspired me to be able to assist my son with decorating his home. Your talent is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
I would leave the bench color as is so everything isn't matchy-matchy. The black of the bench coordinates with the black of the bookshelf and adding the lumbar pillows really ties it all in...beautiful!. Love the idea of adding a shelf to the bench!
I never would have thought to cut the rug in half! I think that changing the bench would really tie the space together. Plus I love the idea of having an extra shelf for shoes!
I had already ordered this bookcase when I found that one at the rose bowl and I think it will go better styled in my office ... adding that in an upcoming video 🥰
NICOLE LEONARD just to reassure you - it’s definitely a faux cow hide. I don’t think Goodwill would sell an actual animal hide. And it certainly wouldn’t be $30. I’m pretty sure she used only vegan leathers in her decor. I could be wrong, but that was my impression of her channel and past videos.
Hey there MaCenna! I just found your TH-cam channel the other day and OH M GEEEE I am obsessed lol. I am so inspired to completely redecorate my house ! Your attention to detail while keeping things on a budget is amazing. I can’t wait to see what you design next!
Ooo black??? That would look nice with the iron trim, but maybe too dark for the area 🤷🏼♀️ or it does look nice I’m my head ... humm thanks for the idea!!!
Your rooms are styled so well I didn't even realize you didn't have curtains! I love it. I have always fallen back on curtains as the quickest way to make an apartment feel like an adult with style lives there.
Well done 👍 the setup turned out great...what i would suggest for the bench is using the cow hide to do a cushion (and therefore cover the wood) and for the floor use a textured runner.
I think it’s perfect... the colour of the bench seemed to be matching that of the sofa in the living room... so I think everything has blended in pretty well
Definitely add a little shelf to the bench! And if you don't really want to change the bench, you could always make a wooden bench top that's the same size as the bench and just kind of set it on top. But it all looks soooo good! It just looks so cozy and finished now.
I would make a really pretty long cushion to place on top of the bench & place some pillows on it. Make it cozy 🤗
I honestly reaaaallly love the way the bench looks now, especially because sometimes it looks better if not all wood is the exact same shade
I would personally stain the wood on the bench (also the extra shelf sounds so good!)
Yay!! Kk 🥰
I agree.🙌🏼
I did think a sanding and a deep stain would look great..love the bench shelf underneath idea!!
I agree
Agree
The wood on the bench is great the way it is. A nice mix of different woods looks very eclectic and ties all of the natural colors in your entire living room together. You have beautiful style.
Maybe a long cushion with a great piece of fabric that would compliment the other items/wood you have in the room. Of course handmade by you:)
That’s a great idea but personally I’ve never been a big fan of cushions 😕
@@XOMaCenna if I can think of anything else I'll post it:)
All ideas a welcome!! Always 🥰
Was thinking exactly the same thing. Either one large cushion or pillows. It would make a perfect window seat. Instead of an extra shelf you can put wicker baskets to hold extra pillows blankets etc...
Ohhh what about a thin cushion (for seating) covered in the same material as the smaller pillow you placed (but I would remove the pillow)?
I almost cried when cut the cow rug. I most definetly went on a "noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" kinda moment, tho...
Dani Mota me to... that one hurt me to the core. It was so beautiful and now it’s half the rug it used to be. 😢 I loved that the rug set the footprint of the entryway too.
Me too !
Dani Mota I read this thinking you cared about the cow. You just care that she cut it. 😒
NICOLE LEONARD I was under the impression it was a faux cow hide, which explains the price at Goodwill. I was sure she doesn’t use real leathers in her decor, maybe I’m wrong?
Exactly, that would be something I would regret later on!!!
I love how it turned out 💯. I would leave the bench as is. It matches the bookcase black accents. If you change the color off the wood it will look to matchy-matchy.
Exactly the bench does match the bookcase.
Leave the bench. It keeps the area from being too matchy. It also brings a darker color over from the couch area.
I agree.. leave the bench.
It also ties into the dark couch
I agree!
The bench looks beautiful in the space. It brings it the darker contrast!
Personally I would ditch the blanket ladder all together in that space as I don't feel it makes the most sense for the function of the room. Possibly you could diy a copper coat tree in that corner.
TheAnnav123 I totally agree: it’s a hallway after all...
The couch isn't too far from the ladder.
just put the blankets rolled up inside the basket
The ladder serves as height to balance off with the bookshelf. If she removes it then she would need to replace it with a similar object. A coat hanger sounds like an AWESOME idea!
I loved how you went step by step in styling the shelf and sharing your thoughts throughtout. It looks beautiful! Thank you so much
I’m sooo glad that one of the item we have in the Philippines that you used on your decorative bookshelf. I love your DIYs and designs
YES DIY the bench, it will make it so personal and unique!!
I don't see why the wood tones have to match since they don't in nature. I think it adds a lot of interest. And yes, copper goes very well.
I think it's hard to make wood match every single time, but I personally try to stick with only up to two different wood tones and have other materials (metals, fabrics, etc.) for anything else.
When I find pieces that aren't the tones I have, I stain them to match.. I can't help it lol
I would have just put a pillow on it and called it a day.
Super perfect! I would leave the bench like it is. The black really balances and grounds that space!
Hey, the bench is beautiful the way it is, and it looks good with the other furniture already, YEAH.
This is really nice. Great job with the display. I will admit, I hit pause when I saw the copper plant stand with the snake plant...yes! I need that!!
I love how you've decorated your entrance, as usual you've done an outstanding job👏👏👏👏👏can't wait for your next video.
Aww yay!! Thanks so much!!! 🥰
I love the versatility and warmness that the area adds!! Everything looks great together. Leave the bench as is, not too matchy-matchy.
Definitely my favorite area in your house now after all the makeovers!!
I totally love curtains over blinds, but other than that, such a cute entryway. Loving the copper ladder and the planter holder.
I was thinking that too
It looks beautiful I honestly wouldn't change a thing about it. All of the colors complement each other so well! Love!!
Watching her cut that rug was the hardest thing to watch omg
Keep the woods as they are! You created such a lovely space with all the textures, neutral tones, and materials. 💕
“How do you wash your throw- pillows?”
“I don’t.”
😂
Bahahaha lol 😂

I never wash my throw pillows

Try a pillow on the bench or a few throw pillows with both wood tones on them. Kinsley is adorable. Love the corset candles!
Ooo great idea 🥰
ooh agreed, I think that's a nice idea too!
i really appreciate the time spent on the curated book collection. i never understood buying books you have no interest in reading, no matter how pretty. love the reindeer!
3:25 DO IT!!!! It would look SO good especially if you make the would the same color!!
Yay!! Kk 🥰
No, I don't think you need to. The cushions cover most of it anyway and it might look too matchy, matchy.
I would LOVE to see this bench in the next DIY! With extra shelving space! 😍I thought it was such a great idea!

I almost yelled when u cut the rug up. They are so expensive. Lol love the way everything came out. Great job
I love all the textures and colour palette. That shelf is so nice. I might have to get it also. I think it’s just needs one final touch, some lighting to set a mood in the evening. Lovely makeover.
You’re house is my literal mood board..
What a transformation!! And what fun market finds!! Those books!!😍
Shit gurl I can’t even imagine buying books just for how they look :0 my mind is blown
Siobhan Henry I cant even imagine people buying bookcases JUST to put decorations on them ?????
God bless you! Jesus is coming soon we need to be ready! pray that He will save us ❤️
Siobhan Henry I buy books to read and books to decorate. One of my local thrifts have hardbacks 5 for a $1 so I buy those for binder color.
nuuuuu books are for r e a d i n g

Maybe stabilize the copper rack w/fishing line attached at the ceiling!

You should leave the bench as is and just put the baskets underneath it still goes with the black of the bookshelf
love this idea!!
I agree with you
I love it! I would leave the bench how it is! It ties in with the black on the bookcase and also your dark sofa! So beautiful!! ❤️
I would not stain the bench because the dark grey ties in the colors in the living room and couch
Between the song and the aesthetic of that room. I felt sheer joy. Can’t wait to move homes now lol
Great job!
Just a suggestion....I'm a plant lover, so I would add a hanging plant over the diy copper ladder. Something that's vining, like an inexpensive pothos🍃🌿
Obsessed with all your videos!! I could watch you DIYing all day!! Your so easy going and talented! Can't wait to see more!
you should cover the bench with a long, cute patterned or colored cushion! drape some nice blankets and maybe a throw pillow or two. you would never notice the color difference
I never can style my bookcases. But the way you explained the way you do them I believe I’ll give it another try. Thanks so much. ❤️
My heart broke when you cut that cow hide rug.
Stephanie Contreras that one hurt me to my core. Ugggh. 😢
oh me too D:
Same😩
Glad I'm not the only one. It's ruined now so when she tires of it no one else will be able to use it. I only hope it's a fake. It won't seem like such a waste.
Definitely. And 30 bucks for a cow hide rug? Here in Texas that could easily go for 150. Now it's worthless. 😭
def DIY the bench!!! that would be so cool to see all come together too!
turn the bench upside down and add a wood piece stained to match the bookcase. You will also have more room below for storage
Love the room and the colors are beautiful. I do like the idea of baskets under the bench. Also love how you styled the rug. Well done.
Bench looks good "as is" on camera. I'd live with it for a few weeks and then decide.
Love it, and I love the mix of textures, metals and woods and their colors. They complement each other and feels more cozy IMO.
I would put solid pieces of wood in it and stain it the same color as the shelf. It will be more cohesive that way.
Yay kk!!
Everything looks beautiful! Add some greenery in the basket 🧺 something that hangs out from it .
I’m pretty sure that reddish “vase” is a Dutch gin bottle. My parents had one for years.
Looks like a wine bottle to me - definitely don’t think it’s a vase.
Yes, i agree , definately a dutch Gin bottle.
@@marvymaxee It is a wine bottle. I live in Spain and my friend bought me a bottle of the wine.
Kinsley is just the cutest! Like a little 🐑!
I literally screamed when she cut that gorgeous cowhide rug. My husband came running in the room to see if I was okay
SAME
If it was too big, why not just fold it???
You did a fabulous job. With the pillows you don't notice the difference in color on the bench TFS
I have a cat and every time she puts something that breaks on a shelf I'm like omg no but then I remember that she doesn't have a cat 😂
I would love her to do more cat friendly/save DIY and decor 😅😂
Every single video I watch!
I've legitimately thought that all of this could be possible with Museum Putty - I guess people use it to keep things falling off shelves in earthquake zones too. Earthquakes. Cats. Same thing, really XD
Just velcro..... everything. XD
This is such a beautiful look with all of the layered textures.🌈
9:50 I just blurted our “you can put your weed in there” 😂😂
I need help. Anyway good work as usual 👌🏾
Bahahahha lol 😂

Sugar packets😉😉
Looks awesome! I vote keep the window bench how it is. I think you’ve provided enough variety and contrast to work
Paint the wood on the bench black. I died a little when you cut up that rug, bold choice
I love the subtle colors in your home. I'm much older than you and my home is Tuscan, Old World and African inspired. You have inspired me to be able to assist my son with decorating his home. Your talent is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
I would just leave the top of the bench as is.
I love the copper ladder and plant stand!!! So pretty! Your entryway turned out really cute!
Noo for the cow hide rug. Poor cow :(
Minus the ladder super cute! Love the final result for the entry way overall.
I like most of what you did, but I'm upset you cut up the cow skin...
I would leave the bench color as is so everything isn't matchy-matchy. The black of the bench coordinates with the black of the bookshelf and adding the lumbar pillows really ties it all in...beautiful!. Love the idea of adding a shelf to the bench!
👏🏼yes change the wood please
I never would have thought to cut the rug in half! I think that changing the bench would really tie the space together. Plus I love the idea of having an extra shelf for shoes!
??? I thought the rattan bookcase was going in the entryway? I like the room
I had already ordered this bookcase when I found that one at the rose bowl and I think it will go better styled in my office ... adding that in an upcoming video 🥰
Love the result! I keep my deers out all year long, I'm glad you kept yours, it really is super cute!
Oh my goodness you destroyed that rug! 😱
figure out, I’m so sad too! 😭 That was traumatic to watch. 😔

sweet phangurl why would vegans be offended by a secondhand cowhide? As long as it’s not new🤷🏻♀️
