Be the best swirler you can be. In the face paint army.. Can't swirl if you can't curl... Thank you it makes somebody that's having issues with swirls smile
I always learn so easily when you teach because you are so relatable and you are so knowledgeable when it comes to being able to teach in the way that we need !! Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials, I appreciate it so much!! ❤
I really appreciate these videos. Im a fourteen year old face painter with barely my first year under my belt. These are so helpful for me to understand more of what I love 😁👍
Laura, you have such a talent not just as an artist, but as a teacher. You explain so well and so detail. I love this type of videos. One day I will be like you. ( Dreaming, but if I can learn 50% of the great that you are I will feel good ). Thanks for this wonderful and helpful video. God bless.
Thanks Iris, Funny, but I love making this type of video! Some times I feel like I need to teach a design every time, but I love just focusing on just a small piece, because I feel like that can make all my designs better.
Thank you so much for these videos. With your enthousiastic way of explaining, it's hard to not get lifted along as well. The way you explain the basics with endless patience is so helpful. Keep up the great work!
I'm glad I found this. I'm doing my first face paint session this weekend. I have done full face halloween makeup and have been an artist for many years, but I'm totally new to the fair type face painting. I definitely need all the tips.
Thank you for this video.... It made me so happy to hear practice my swirl drills.. I think I'm gonna say that in my head a billion times every time I do A swirl.
I lost my car and business with the pandemic. Now I have a car and hoping to start up again but out of practice so thanks for this. Btw I’m 77 and been doing this for about 20 years and really miss the children. I have a job on the 27th so hoping it goes well. Very nice instructions.
Can you share type of brush (brand) and type of paint ... I bought 3 different sets and i feel like they're not good .. maybe it's my hand 😅 but i think qualify brushes and pain make the difference
I struggle with having enough paint on my brush to complete the swirls. I live in Arizona and there are days your brush is dry after loading before you even make it to the face, haha. I legit have to keep a small cup of water in my hand to rewet every line. It's SO HARD to get a good amount of paint loaded and not be drippy!
I like the loew cornell 7000 series. Really I recommend trying just one of a bunch of brands to find the kind you bond with. If you know other painters, it can be great to try each others brushes as a way to see before you spend a bunch of $$$
I am using a craft paper- it is #110 solid core smooth. I ended up with some from a sale, and I love it. ( I wanted to answer you both places in case other people had the same question!)
What do you do if a child moves right when you’re swirling and it completely mucks it up ? I find this puts me completely off my game and I struggle to fit it and start stressing internally
Internal stress is the worst! Anchor your hands on the kid and use it as an early detection signal. Try to stop painting when a tremor hits. When you have a mess up, just keep going! I know it is hard, but don’t try to make it look like it never happened- try and make it become part of the design. Add a petal flower over it, or something if it needs to go, but try to move forward and not back (erase) but remember every pencil comes with an eraser for a reason. All artists make marks that don’t get to stay. Let the stress go. And finally- (I have a lot to say here) place the blame on the kid! That is who made the whoops not you! So don’t feel responsible, just the amazing person that knows what to do next!

He’s great. Tho I might add a bottom jaw and more teeth when I paint mine. The sun behind him with the trees in front is amazing!
Thank you!! Definately my weak spot need to practice
Hi Prana, you are welcome! best way to practice is to try and love when you get to do them, instead of avoiding them- it makes all the difference.
What kind of paint are you using and where did you get yours ?
Can i use watercolor for face painting?
Thanks so much

This may be a stupid question but what type of paper do you practice on? Is it just construction paper?
P.S. I LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! Thank you for sharing your passion.

You teach better than some Faba instructors. They need you for kidvention and Fabiac. ....I'm just sayin 😁
Thanks for your kind words. I am so glad you are learning!
