I used to love to go to circle centre mall! It was innovative and had night life and an arcade and awesome movie theater with all the most cutting edge stores. Then the crowd became more young and unsupervised with no desire for shopping, just gathering and then came the violence and loud rude people who would bump into you and have fights at the mall. It ruined it for everybody. Why would you wanna go to the mall and not feel like you’re in a positive environment where people are just enjoying themselves? It just got to be too much drama.
Sell groceries! Malls fail because that new handbag or whatever is just a click away. People will go buy food. As a mater of fact most downtown residents go a great distance away from downtown to get groceries.
And who’s community are you referring too? Gun violence has always been a issue in Indiana. And the mall has been trash since all the good retailers moved out north
Stop blaming things on a pandemic because other malls have done well. Safety is a concern and Also, when you bring in urban hip-hop stores & businesses it is not attractive to people. Lafayette square did that same thing and it deteriorated, Castleton is going down the same road and has changed for the worse then safety risk increases because look what type of crowd gets attracted to those type of stores. The reason why Keystone at the crossings is doing well is look at the type of stores They have , you don't see any urban hip Hop stores in that mall and their prices are too high to attract flocks of young people . Plus it doesn't look like city busses drop off at that mall but they do for the downtown mall and Castleton and look who is let off to run wild in the malls. People are not going to shop at thise places
Very true… not sure how these black owned businesses are succeeding and stores that been around for years are being closed… I went a couple months ago and was baffled that hollister was closed… that’s a clothing store for kids and young adult smh proof that they want us girls to dress more promiscuous smh
The new renderings for my IBJ are embarrassing. We are generally a cold city. Those who prefer to walk outside have always been able to do so on the outskirts of the building. How will those internal spaces that aren't even visible from the street going to be maintained anyways? Hopefully the developers aren't set on this type of development. What the circle center needs is money to be pumped into it with a revision. I don't like walking out in the winter. The only reason I don't go to the mall is that there isn't very much to entice. There should be more to be reimagined. I like the connectivity of bottleworks. The worst part about bottleworks is walking out in the cold from building to building. I think we're losing the focus of what makes the circle center unique. This really needs to be brought back to the table and reconsidered.
Simon has his name on all the malls in indianapolis except circle center and for a reason. Theres no good shops there. Once macys left it was done and that was years ago. That mall is terrible and now just a waste of space. Theres opportunities there but downtown is so boring and plain. I remember it has clubs upstairs, decent movie theater, arcades and more but the food center was terrible. Please start over there and lafayette square too.

The crime downtown doesn't make it an attractive shopping place. IMPD is overwhelmed and the mayor is useless.
The time of shopping malls has come and gone
@@cxjeteron line shopping has killed that
None of this is true… the options and services at the mall are mediocre
Ever since the riots no one feels safe to go downtown anymore like they use to. I no longer do any business there.
I hate driving downtown. Refuse to go and I live 15 min away.

The mall is not a babysitter
People need to have better control of their out of control children
NO!- actually, " the community" & ,
" teen's" & " gun violence" eliminated better than a third,(1/3),[ .33%] of downtown retail. Going back, pre- pandemic.
Shhhh... reality/truth is racist
