Man.....That was cool to see as someone that grew up in Indy. So sad what that mall turned into today.

In my opinion the slow steady fall of the mall was due to poor management. Yes, malls across the county have been on a steady decline since 2008, but this was the premier mall in Indianapolis. The decline had already started in 2004 when I moved here when a lot of the 3rd floor started to be vacant. Its a shame that all that hard work to build the mall and all those people's lives who opened a business wasn't meant to last. Now they just want to tear it down when functionally the building is fine. Oh well.

I was born in 1995, but I didn’t move to Indianapolis until 2018. I couldn’t imagine how this place would’ve been if I grew up here or even just had opportunities to visit growing up.

Yeah, it was always a great mall to visit even through the 2000s. Always busy and packed with retail. It was probably when Nordstrom left in 2011-12 for Keystone that things started to go downhill.

It's definitely a shell of it's former self. Indy was awesome in the late 90s early 00s.

Crazy I worked at the lids at the circle centre mall last year and just to see how lively indy was in the 90s makes me sad cuz you’re lucky if 1,000 people total show up in a month now 🤦🏽‍♂️

Yeah worked at the theater in 2001, I remember having to take down a bunch of our posters with spiderman in it because he had webbing the twin towers together. I had kept the poster but everything in my old house was stolen. Wish I still had that.

Omg I tell people all the time about how live and thriving Indy used to be. Definitely not the same city I grew up in.

Indianapolis experienced a surge of energy and civic pride in the 1990s and early 2000s, thanks in part to the leadership of Mayor Bill Hudnut. The city's downtown core saw significant development during this period. However, the economic downturn of 2009-2010 impacted these efforts. Some key figures who played a role in the city's growth have since moved on. Today, Indianapolis is a city in transition. New residents and leaders bring fresh perspectives, while challenges remain in maximizing the potential of downtown spaces like Circle Centre Mall and the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The city has a rich history and a bright future, but downtown Indy will never be what it once was.

This was Back in the PRIME of Circle Center. Back when it had the WB store, the Disney Store, the massive toy store, etc.
Then racism and gentrification swept in and now that mall is nothing more than a shell if it’s former self.
