I own one of these and it's been excellent! Off road it will go anywhere and atm the shaft in my transfer case is broken and has been for quite sometime without my knowledge and has still tackled any track I've put it against. Money well spent

what is your opinion on the MA classification mate?

Thanks mate. From the little amount of research I've done, I don't think it really has an impact on the Everest (or it's owners) in the real world. It seems to be more of categorisation issue than it is an issue to what the Everest is capable of. Australia struggles to keep up with market trends with it's ADR guidelines and rules on a regular basis, e.g. look at how badly they classify the difference between a commercial van, a people mover with van like cargo area or a large SUV that is a people mover yet can be a van that has SUV abilities.
If people want an SUV that has excellent on road manners yet can do some pretty serious off-roading, the Everest is great no matter what the classification. Yes, there are far more capable off-roaders but I doubt they are as compliant on road.

I am only worried about the insurance and if after market modification would suffer from this mis-categorisation.
Struggling between this one and the Pajero Sport...

***** Many car specialist insurers (Like Shannons here in Australia) will assist you with what modifications are allowed and what they'll cover. For off road peace of mind, just make sure the insurance covers deep off road areas. Some policies only cover unsurfaced roads and not off the beaten track stuff.
Pajero Sport is great too and the more affordable vehicle but the on-road manner of the Everest are a stand out. Interior is a little nicer and more intuitive on the Everest but the Pajero Sport interior would probably handle more abuse. (Check my channel for my Pajero Sport review)
It's a tough call between the two mate and I'm happy to help however I can.

Mate all great choices. Drive them all and look at the budget. See if you can test drive each car for a couple of hours and hopefully, "the one" will grab your attention. Where are you based?
